Welcome clomiphene citrate people!

Come and chat about all things Clomid.

I'm Alice
33 years old
TTC#1
Cycle 31

Had all the tests and finally got the go-ahead today (a prescription and letter in the post!) So bit of a surprise. Will be starting on CD2 in about 4 days time hopefully.

Scared, excited, nervous.

Twiglet2353 · 23/12/2018 19:37

@LisaCookie Yey! What CD are you?

@Iqra786 I'm kind of running out of patience with ttc'ing in general tbh. And my cycles tend to last anywhere from 26-32 days, so late ovulation equals crappy luteal phase for me.
I wish I was having scans so I knew what was going on in there

LisaCookie · 23/12/2018 19:48

@Twiglet2353 . Were the same day. I've been following your MSG's because I wasn't completely sure what I was doing , I'm still not if I'm honest haha, this is my first try on clomid , X

Twiglet2353 · 23/12/2018 20:05

@LisaCookie ah yes I remember now! How nice to have cycle buddies Smile

LisaCookie · 23/12/2018 20:09

So frustrating the wait. I've been an emotional wreck . . So hope you get there. The clomid must be doing something , I've not had this for so long since hopefully it's a sign something is going in the right direction . You all sorted for Christmas? X

Twiglet2353 · 23/12/2018 20:15

@LisaCookie yeah all sorted for xmas - I'm working until 5pm but then have Boxing Day off so may have a couple of glasses of wine because I'm wreckless like that Grin. How about yourself? Its hard this time of year isn't x

LisaCookie · 23/12/2018 20:25

Yea real tough. I've managed to wangle Xmas day off then got boxing day off and got Christmas Eve off yesterday . Winner!! I'm working all new year tho new year's eve 8-19 then new year's Day 8-22 which is gonna be hard because my partner has a band and is playing a gig new year so I'm going out to that new year's eve night. I don't want to have a drink now . . Paranoia at its best . I've got nearly everything today . Just got to pick a few bits up tomorrow ,shouldn't take long then must wrap all day! X

Iqra786 · 24/12/2018 09:20

@twiglet2353 3rd day of flashing smiley

juneybean · 24/12/2018 11:34

I'm still getting a high reading today so no peak yet.... bit gutted I can't have a little drink tomorrow as it'll affect my temping. Boo!

Twiglet2353 · 24/12/2018 14:37

@Iqra786 fourth day for me! Grr!!

@juneybean a couple of drinks would be okay wouldn't they? I thought it was only if it was a really heavy night of drinking it would affect your temps? Enjoy yourself, only comes round once a year Grin

Clarence58 · 24/12/2018 16:18

Hi everyone, I have just been prescribed clomid after TTC for 18 months. I already knew I had PCOS. I was diagnosed about 15 years ago along with type 2 diabetes and I have been on the maximum dose of metformin since then too.

I have also been taking inofolic for the past 18 months. I don’t know whether or not it affected my periods being regular but fortunately they have been very regular (28 day cycle) since I came off the pill 18 months ago. I think the metformin helps a lot too. Before I was prescribed that 15 years ago, my periods were very all over the place

Been to see the consultant today and everything other than my progesterone looks normal. My progesterone was only 8 at my last day 21 blood test. My AMH is 36 which she said was pretty good for my age (im 34)

Iv also been having acupuncture for the past 7 months. Iv not noticed any changes really and I’m clearly not pregnant so it can’t be that good haha. But I’m still going once a fortnight. It’s an expensive way to relax for half an hour anyway

Also doing my temperature every morning/doing ovulation sticks/obsessively doing pregnancy tests every month. It’s sending me a bit obsessed and monitoring any slight change in my body then googling whether it’s ovulstion or pregnancy symptoms Grin

juneybean · 24/12/2018 18:44

I've got bucks fizz for the morning but would be nervous drinking after say 2pm or 3pm as I'm not sure how long it'll stay in my system :/ although I suppose I could discard the temp if still haven't had peak reading! Grin

How are we all coping at this time of the year? I've been okay but would dearly love to share the magic with a child :/

juneybean · 24/12/2018 18:46

Hi Clarence! I gave up doing pregnancy tests as it's so expensive. I now only do it if I'm late.

Do you have a fitbit at all? I only ask as I use mine to watch my resting heart rate and I noticed when I had acupuncture last year that it really levelled out my RHR.

Clarence58 · 24/12/2018 19:09

I do actually. It’s a Samsung one but I don’t really use it. I might give it a try to test out my RHR.

Iv bought some new exercise gear with the intention of losing some weight and getting fitter in the new year. My BMI is 34 so I know I need to get it down, particularly if the clomid doesn’t work and I need IUI/IVF

Motherhood123 · 24/12/2018 19:58

Hi all. Sorry to jump in but dont know how to add a conversation.
I got pregnant in september with clomid (fell on 3rd round) and merformin but I had a miscarriage last week at 17.2 weeks.

Just wondering if anyone here has gone through miscarriage and had to take clomid again? Im thinking of trying 2 months without it and then start taking clomid. Or has anyone fell pregnant soon after a miscarriage.

Motherhood123 · 24/12/2018 19:59

Just to add i have pcos too

Twiglet2353 · 24/12/2018 20:12

@Motherhood123 sorry to hear that. Afraid I can't give you insight into the use of clomid after miscarriage x

juneybean · 24/12/2018 22:52

@Motherhood123 so sorry to hear of your loss x

I haven't any experience of getting pregnant on clomid. However my friend had a miscarriage in November and got pregnant the very next cycle as had heard you're pretty fertile after a loss, hope that helps.

Twiglet2353 · 25/12/2018 06:33

@Iqra786 @LisaCookie static smiley! Confirmed with a cheapy. Woohoo!

Iqra786 · 25/12/2018 08:55

@twiglet 2353 another flashing smiley for me day 4 and counting... Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a static

LisaCookie · 25/12/2018 10:17

My msg from this morning has disappeared??

@Twiglet2353 yaaay! Lots of action today!!

@Iqra786 I wish and pray for you 🤞

As I do everybody here . Good luck and have a very merry Christmas all Xx

Iqra786 · 25/12/2018 11:01

@lisacookie thank you ❤️

Iqra786 · 26/12/2018 17:54

Another flashing smiley for me

Twiglet2353 · 26/12/2018 18:24

@Iqra786 oh how frustrating. The flashing smileys might actually be worse then blank OPKs!

Hope xmas has been kind to you all
