Had all the tests and finally got the go-ahead today (a prescription and letter in the post!) So bit of a surprise. Will be starting on CD2 in about 4 days time hopefully.

Scared, excited, nervous.

My heart's breaking reading these stories. Hope you don't mind me joining. We've been trying for 4 and a half years. Confirmed pcos and just took my first clomid 50mg last night. Would be magical a baby or two ;) for Christmas

@Iqra786 first night last night and just woke up with period cramps once or twice. Nothing to write home about today. I've always found days 3-5 of clomid are when I feel crabby and hot 🥵. How about you today?

Hi all I am new to all this so here goes
We been trying for 1 1/2 years first round of 50g Clomid we were told not to go ahead this month as had 3 big follicles so high risk so we havnt really tried. But period has not come so took test and it negative but still no period has anyone eles had this I am usually like clockwork many thanks

@LisaCookie How are you finding it? Tonight will be my fourth night of 100mgs. Hot flashes don't seem to have been this bad this cycle but I have the usually headache that won't shift. Emotionally was a right bitch to DH last night and feel like I can just have a bit of a sob today.
Trying positive mental attitude this month though! 😉

I'm not too sure to be honest. I'm overly emotional anyway so I can't tell . Cold/flu like symptoms but it's going round everywhere so again not sure but don't think it is these. . Got the ovulation tests on the ready . Were on same night! Wuhoooo my first try of 50mg. I'm useless with all that code talk haha hope everybody's well x

So today is my last day with the 100mgs ☺️ I've had a few nights especially last night and the night before where I was extremely emotional the slightest thing would annoy me and I would end up arguing with DH :( not really had any hot flushes..
Will start testing from CD10 (Monday next week) really hoping that this month I ovulate 🙈

I came on late so that hurt us both so it been an emonial day but we have started 2ed round of 50g today fingers crossed for you all hope it works for us all xxxx

@Hoping1 I feel your pain, I was nearly 2 weeks late & then I came on 🙁 Hopefully next month you will get your positive 😘 xx

Can confirm hot flashes are in full effect and the latest I've gone to bed this week is 8pm. Rock and roll! Haha.

Hello all! Just wanted to add my story to this thread. DH and I had been trying for 3 years for no 2 with no joy. I had 3 months on Clomid and felt awful. I was so much more emotional on each failed month. I had hot flushes, terrible mood swings and felt really low. When I finished the 3 months I decided to have a break and wasn't sure I'd do it again. Well this month I've just had a BFP - still in shock tbh as assumed if it didn't happen with Clomid that it wouldn't happen at all.

Aww congratulations! Just goes to show that we should never give up :)

@twiglet2353 how is it going? I started ovulation testing yesterday.. Had a very faint line :/

Hi 👋👋👋 Hope you don't mind me hoping on but I'm so pleased to have found an active Clomid board!!
I'm 37 DH 41. No previous pregnancies for either of us. Lots of tests, unexplained infertility. TTC for 2 years so given 3 months of clomid. Had one monitored cycle. All was ok- they warned of a multiple pregnancy after scan and I had a progesterone result of 95 but no BFP.
Returned to the clinic and the consultant (NHS) suggested we can either have 3 more clomid or go straight on to IVF. She suggested we go straight on to IVF due to my age and the fact that my AMH result was 'lower than she would like'. I asked what that meant and she said it wasn't a disaster and but I would need the highest dose of IVF drugs- after the clomid side effects I am dreading this!
We have decided to take 3 months more clomid. Basically the company I work at in going bankrupt and I am changing jobs. I also want to be tip top ready for IVF physically (BMI currently 26) and mentally. We only get one funded go so want it to be our best go!
Ironically we can't start the clomid until my next cycle now as antibiotics prescribed for dental work have given me thrush but I'm going to also try acupuncture and preseed.
I have read with interest re the grapefruit juice. Should I be getting a specific type of cough medicine
Glad to have found this board as I am nervous about going against the consultants advise- but I hope that 3/4 months won't make that much difference for IVF, and who knows we may still get lucky with the clomid

@Iqra786 Usinng Clearblue last cycle and this cycle and was a negative (low) fertility this morning. Otherwise going okay. Had the worst clomid rage last Friday but feeling much brighter now!
I'm hoping I get an earlier surge this cycle with it being double dose. Are you having progesterone bloods this cycle?

Hi @confused107. Welcome to the thread. I bought Covonia sugar free chesty cough as that has the active ingredient you need to help with CM. Have used it for previous cycles. Not sure whether to bother this cycle or not

@tiwglet2353 I am using clear blue too and the strips ! I test in the evening tho both low fertility today and yesterday.. But what I have noticed is that this month the lines on the strip are darker than what they were this time last month.. But I'm not getting to excited
I have my 21 day bloods next Friday

@Iqra786 having my bloods done next Friday too (although will be CD20)

Hi all , I take my last clomid 100mg tomorrow , iv got to have bloods at 21 and 28 days, however I do usually have long cycles 37 days ( only 4 Natural periods in 1 year ) so would a 28 day blood test pick it up ? Also my last cycle on clomid which was 50mg I got a positive clear blue static smiley on day 26 , but bloods at day 28 was only 15 and the hospital said I failed to ovulate ?????

@twiglet2353 we will get our results at the same time then! 😬 Keep me posted on your ovulation testing.. I'm hoping to expect a positive ovulation test by Friday

How do you all get your blood test back I havnt been told mine however going for scan Friday as was too sensitive first time so had to take less tablets this time and on 50g do I just ask when at scan xx

@twiglet2352 CD 13 for me today just done another clear blue ovulation test.. Low fertility again :(
But last night I had major hot flashes and a lot of cramping...

Hi everyone is it ok if I join? Have just been prescribed Clomid for the first time, I'm 30, TTC #1 with PCOS. Have long but regular cycles but looks like I'm only ovulation about 1 in 4. The whole thing feels bittersweet. Good in the sense something is being done to help us but feel down as it's confirmed something is wrong with me. Already struggle with my mental health so really worried about potential side effects. When I was prescribed i was only on CD6 so got a long wait until I can make a start! Any advice?

@Iqra786 day behind you on CD12 and low fertility again this morning for me. Hoping for a flashing smiley tomorrow. Last month I had flashing from CD13 and had peak CD16 x

@willowjasmine I struggle with mental heath too 🙁 don’t want to scare you but clomid makes mine so much worse! This month just gone I had a bit of a breakdown & all I could think about was crashing my car on the way home from work. I mean I would never do anything like this but the thoughts were awful! Didn’t know what to do & if this was normal! But now having finished the 5 days I feel fine again. Very strange 🤔 xx
