Welcome clomiphene citrate people!

Come and chat about all things Clomid.

I'm Alice
33 years old
TTC#1
Cycle 31

Had all the tests and finally got the go-ahead today (a prescription and letter in the post!) So bit of a surprise. Will be starting on CD2 in about 4 days time hopefully.

Scared, excited, nervous.

Man that sucks. Are you going to talk to GP about it tomorrow?

I work for the NHS but don't know any failing fertility clinics, so you're safe Grin

Have you see decided whether to take one tonight?

@AliceScarlett I'd like to think we have some perks to the job but my post-lap follow up consisted of a conversation in a busy corridor with my consultant on a night shift!

Yeah I'm seeing GP in the morning to see if I can get the ball rolling before my consultant appointment at the end of the month.

Re starting the clomid tonight - I'm thinking of holding off in case the GP wants to repeat my CD3 bloods tomorrow. Upon reviewing the ones I had done beginning of this year I had undetectable Estradiol - I've Dr Googled it and it does not sound good at all...

Also as it's another cycle of 50mg I feel almost reluctant to start it! But I will because I'm obliging haha x

Loujodie · 12/11/2018 09:44

Morning lovely ladies,

Sooooo after being super bloated for two days last week, the heaviest period I've ever had started on Friday! Still really bloated and heavy today. This must be clomid related, my 21 day bloods result was 50.3 so maybe this is related?!

Anyhoo... started taking my 2nd round of clomid on Saturday night. Let's see what November/December bring us all.

Lou xx

Update on me:

6 days late, like 20 BFNs and one faint line later AF has turned up.

What a horrible week it has been.

OP posts:
AliceScarlett · 12/11/2018 19:43

@twiglet2353 are you a doctor?

What did the GP say?

What's bad about Estradiol?

Questions sorry.

@LouJodie Eep heavy AF. Role on Decembers BFPs.

@AliceScarlett No not a doctor, I'm a midwife (fun job to be on a ttc struggle with) 🙈.

Yes saw GP this morning - repeat FSH/LH/Prolactin etc taken this morning along with mandatory chlamydia testing, and IVF referrals forms filled out. Pleased to be moving on with the next step.
I'm now going to start my next clomid cycle tonight, my bleeding has never really materialised into a real period but like you said yesterday I don't want to miss the boat either.

Sorry you've had such a shitty week. Did I read somewhere that if you get past CD35 with no bleeding you should have Provera providing pregnancy has been excluded?

What's the next step for you/next follow up appointment?x

GettingImpatientNow · 12/11/2018 23:12

@AliceScarlett - so did you get a faint BFP before your period turned up, or have I misunderstood?

AliceScarlett · 13/11/2018 07:37

@twiglet2353 Oh my! That must be so hard. You must be very strong.
Hope the new cycle of Clomid goes well. Is there a waiting list for IVF where you are?

@gettingimpatientnow Yes it was the faintest squinter, but came up straightaway. As I was a week late I'm thinking maybe it was a chemical.

CD1 of cycle 39 today. Paracetamol and coffee I think.

Just seen your question.
I'm having all my thousand swabs and blood tests, appt on the 8th Dec when I've been informed the IVF ball with start rolling and will get going on January. Eep.

@AliceScarlett apparently at the moment 6-8 weeks NHS and around 2-3weeks private. As crap as it is for us to have to take the next step I'm pleased I'll have a buddy around the same time!

Iqra786 · 14/11/2018 21:10

I'm currently on cycle one of clomid (50mg) and on CD16.. I am yet to get a +OPK.. Around what day should I except ovulatyon I'm starting to think that I probably won't ovulate this cycle :(

KT2828 · 14/11/2018 22:55

Hi @Iqra786 I thought the same thing first cycle but I ovulated day 20 this month and both the 2 cycles I have had I’ve ovulated around then. Just starting cycle 3...trying to keep positive After failed cycle. Sending baby dust to us all and good luck to those starting the IVF Xx

Iqra786 · 15/11/2018 09:03

@kt2828 Thankyou for giving me some hope!

Just keep positive good luck for this cycle! ❤️

Somarch · 15/11/2018 21:13

Hi all, has anyone been prescribed cyclogest progesterone pessaries? If so how much & (sorry to ask) but which hole did you put them?
I’ve been prescribed to take 2 a day (am & pm) & anally is better?
Any opinions, I’m so confused 😩 x

AliceScarlett · 16/11/2018 15:44

@Twiglet2353 sorry I didn't see your message! A cycle buddy would be good, I'm on CD 4 now so we are really not that far off each other.

I had my last blood tests today for IVF. Few swabs then I should be good to go in January.

@Somarch sorry no help for you,.hope you found the answer.

@AliceScarlett I've got my consultation booked for the end of the month. Ironically the day after my gynae appt. Paying private for the consultation but still hoping to press ahead with the one nhs cycle so may be a wait for that x

Hopefully not too long. Do you have a have been trying for a number of years?

Twiglet2353 · 16/11/2018 21:21

Not if you have specific reasons for infertility. But if it's unexplained then it's 2 years for our CCG x

Laurenita · 17/11/2018 21:37

Am I on the right thread @Twiglet2353?

Twiglet2353 · 17/11/2018 23:51

@Laurenita Hi, yes welcome to the thread!

Laurenita · 18/11/2018 08:45

Thanks for inviting me @Twiglet2353. Hi everyone, I have been ttc for nearly a year and turn 35 next month so I’ve recently been having some investigations by my gynae. I ovulated last month but I have elevated testosterone levels and was told I had ‘borderline PCOS’. I’ve been given 50mg Clomid for 3 months, I start taking them tomorrow. I was just looking for a little support because from people going through the same thing, I’m a little down in the dumps over it all so Twiglet2353 invited me here 👋

Iqra786 · 18/11/2018 16:31

Hey guys

So I'm on CD 20 and still not have a positive opk I don't think I'll ovulate this month :( I have my 21 day bloods tomorrow and I'm thinking what's the point :/

It's so fustrating.. Waited nearly 6 months to get prescribed clomid and now that I have it nothing's going right 😞

Hop90 · 19/11/2018 23:54

Hiya I’m new here , currently on day 24 of my first clomid cycle 50mg , found out today my progesterone level was 2 , so have to go back on day 28 for another blood test, am too thinking what’s the point 👎if it’s still low , I will be going to 100mg for the next cycle . I too have been doing opks however fertility nurse told me to stop . Has anyone else had no success with 50mg , but ovulated on 100mg ?????

Iqra786 · 20/11/2018 11:42

@hop90 Welcome :)

Were pretty much in the same boat.. Did you call the hospital to find out your results or did they contact you? I'm going to give the hospital a call on Thursday and ask for my blood results..

Also the main thing is that this is just cycle one we have 5 cycles left and if they up the dose hopefully the ball will get moving Smile
