Had all the tests and finally got the go-ahead today (a prescription and letter in the post!) So bit of a surprise. Will be starting on CD2 in about 4 days time hopefully.

Fingers crossed for you Ebony447. Have you contacted your doc about AF not arriving? If you're still getting bfn it might be that you've not ovulated and need to trigger your period.

My best friend told me she's pregnant today. I hate that I couldn't just be instantly happy for her like a normal person would be! I'm just glad she told me by message so she didn't see my face. I know she wasn't even thinking about getting pregnant 6 months ago which makes it that much harder to take.

shelleybear0313 · 14/09/2018 10:16

How many days late are you now ebony447? I wish I'd help off testing. Sometimes it just feels nice just thinking your pregnant. Enjoy your bubble. Oh Iv got everything crossed for you. Hopefully a little bean planting in. Definitely have a look at the vitamins, supposed to do great things for them mens fish.

Gettingimpatientnow I know exactly how you feel. It's a mixed feelings of envy, resentment, jealousy, and then to top it of guilt for being a horrible person. Keep your chin up, your day will come. Everyone's roads are different, some are just a little longer. 💖💖💖xxx

Ebony447 · 14/09/2018 11:00

Gettingimpatientnow thanks for your msg. Yes I contacted them and they are supposed to be ringing me back yesterday but they haven't they are probably just busy. I feel ur pain when people tell you they are pregnant, at the min everyone around me seems to be pregnant and haven't wanted/tried for a baby. Although I am happy for them it feels like Sod's law iv tried so hard. You will get there thou ur turn will come around and when it does it will so much more special to you💖x

Shellybear0131 thankyou I'm definitely going to look into the vitamins think they will help partner massively with sperm morphology.. I'm 9 days late now. My partner says exactly what you say he just wants to believe I am pregnant for a little while. Me thou it drives me mad I need to know what's going on.. how are you anyway xx

Hi everyone, I haven't posted in here since July so I thought i'd update!

August we finally got a private consultation and were prescribed Clomid.
I had my HSG by coincidence CD1 which was clear.
I took 50mg CD 2-6 and to be honest, I had very few symptoms.
I was travelling over that time and between jet lag there was nothing really noticeable, maybe some headaches. It was totally fine!!

I had my first ever positive OPK on CD17. I also had incredible sharp ovulation pains that had me doubled over just hours after my positive OPK which I've never had before and pains on/off for the few days after. I was sadly delighted! We BD lots from CD11-CD21.

My progesterone bloods on CD21 confirmed ovulation Grin the first time ever, but I didnt find out the exact level.

I have had some funky symptons since - insomnia and sore nipples (both incredibly rare things for me) and ongoing lower stomach pains & twinges.

Now I'm CD26, only 9DPO.

I'm desperate for this to be all good signs of BFP - but because I have never ovulated before these could just be normal ovulation effects I guess...

I dont POAS often. I find most months just waiting for my AF to come naturally is less distressing then seeing the BFN in my face. We'll see if I am as patient this month...

How is everyone else getting along? Has anyone experienced any of my ramblings?
X

Twiglet2353 · 15/09/2018 09:20

Sounds promising @Mol5. Hope it's a BFP for you this month.

I have one tablet left to take tonight and I feel really shitty today. I have had a constant left sided headache for two days now that isn't budging and it's making me miserable! Ohh baby you better be worth it 😂😂

Ebony447 · 16/09/2018 16:36

Hi everyone af started today! Was wondering if I should up my dose to 100mg because clearly it dint work for me last month. Have rung the hospital but can't get an appointment with doc for around 2 month. Don't know wether to just try it🤯 xx

Rmw12 · 16/09/2018 17:37

Hi @ebony447, are you in touch with a fertility unit at all. I was able to call the one I was referred to each month and they would tell me to up my dose. Although in saying that my consultant was surprised that I was up to 150g when I went back. It worked though as I had a blood test last month that showed I ovulated for the first time since taking it and I think I did again this last month (our last chance). Just in the TWW wait now.

Ebony447 · 16/09/2018 18:01

Rmw12 I wish u good luck this month🙏.. I only had tracking on the 1st cycle and they just said it was working and stay on 50mg but I don't think I ovulated last month as AF was so late.. but I think it's the doctor who says you can up ur medication although I will ring in the morning to check.. I only have 2 cycles of clomid left that's why I was just thinking to up it.. Xxx

Rmw12 · 16/09/2018 19:25

Thank you @ebony447. 😊 Yes it’s worth a try, I think it’s a specialist nurse I spoke to at our fertility unit.

AliceScarlett · 18/09/2018 21:35

Hi everyone. Welcome new people. I've been on holiday, AF arrived bang on time. Really wasn't pleasant to be so disappointed and in pain on holiday. I thought that getting a BFP when we were away would be wonderful... I got my hopes up and took a FRER with me. Silly really.
Oh well, onto cycle 4 of Clomid, merry.go.round.

GettingImpatientNow · 18/09/2018 22:35

Awww, that's rubbish AliceScarlett! Hope you're not feeling too blue. Did you at least have a nice holiday?
I really want more successes on here....we've only had 1 from what must be 20 or more people now. It doesn't fill me with hope.
We've decided to get the ball rolling with IVF after this mobth (this will be 3rd round of clomid) as I can't take this waiting game anymore. It's made me feel a bit happier about the whole thing ..like I'll be doing something proactive to help my chances. Will have to make some sacrifices to afford it but it'll be worth it if it works.

Rmw12 · 19/09/2018 07:34

Aah, I’m sorry @alicescarlett. I hope you were still able to enjoy your holiday.

That’s good @gettingimpatientnow, I think we need to do the same but I’m still in two minds. How did you decide on a clinic?

I’m on CD32 with no AF yet, normally my cycle is average 34 days but it’s been less on clomid. It was 29 last month so I’ve been getting my hopes up but just had another BFN this morning. 😞

Mol5 · 19/09/2018 09:19

Morning ladies, sorry @alicescarlett!
Sadly me too, despite a very promising month and ALLL the hope & new symptoms AF arrived yesterday CD31 unexpectedly and with avengence. Perhaps the worst AF I have ever had. Has anyone else had worse AF on clomid cycles?

So CD2 today, and beginning Cycle 2 of clomid.

Sending lots of hugs to everyone else in this rotten pirate forsaken sinking boat Flowers x

Rmw12 · 20/09/2018 07:28

I think AF has arrived, that’s me out and it was our last clomid cycle. 😢 It’s been helpful to chat with you, thank you, I wish you all lots of luck. 🤞🍀

AliceScarlett · 20/09/2018 08:02

Sorry to hear that you guys :( it's a cruel process.

Good afternoon I am new here and looking for a support group for this frustrating but hopeful journey . I am 38 ...my husband and I have been TTC for 8 months , due to my age and health my dr said we shouldn’t sit around and wait . I began my first cycle of clomid in August ...my period was 2 weeks late and when I finally did get it I’ve had it for 12 days now , my dr said maybe it’s a miscarriage but pt was bfn...she then said clomid can mess up your cycle . I began second round of clomid last week ...hoping for better results this time , anyone else have this happen ?

Twiglet2353 · 21/09/2018 18:30

For those who have found they are ovulating, what days are you ovulating on?

I've read we should ovulate on CD14 when taking clomid (or thereabouts), but I'm CD12 today with very faint OPKs. Hoping that they darken, otherwise 50mg may not be enough for me?

Mol5 · 21/09/2018 19:03

Hey @twiglet2353,

It depends on your cycle length. If you have a 28 day cycle it should theoretically be day CD14.

I have a bit longer cycle and I on average ovulate CD17. I had faint OPKS from CD11 onwards but they did gradually slowly darken then my clear peak was suddenly CD17 last month for example so, whatever works for you.

It might be anywhere between CD11-CD21 in theory!

That was on 50mg I should add^

Xx

tinyradish · 21/09/2018 19:10

I still keep an eye on this thread & have my fingers crossed for you all. Another bfp must be due very soon.

Just wanted to say to those chatting above that you can ovulate late on Clomid. Don't give up hope. I didn't ovulate until CD41 (first Clomid cycle) & was absolutely despairing thinking I was Clomid resistant.

I'm now 8 weeks.

Twiglet2353 · 21/09/2018 19:21

Thanks @Mol5 and @tinyradish, I would usually get positive OPKs on CD20/21 (but not actually ovulate going by progesterone readings 7dpo). I wish I understood it all a bit more.
Hope to see some good news filter through this thread 🤞

Mummylaura1988 · 21/09/2018 23:09

Hi everyone,
I've just finished clomid cycle number 2. Hoping and praying that this is our month. Currently on cycle day 6. Clomid made my cycle length shorter last month from 95 days to 40. I got a positive ovulation test on cycle day 27. I've been informed by the hospital I was under that because I ovulated last month I wouldn't have any further test done so I basically just go it alone and hope it happens soon. Do you think my cycle length will be 40 days moving forward and that I should ovulate on or around cycle day 27 again this month? I'm also going to chart my temp this month aswell although we BD pretty muxh every day of my fertile window including the day I ovulated and still got a bfn so I feel at a bit of a loss as to what to expect this month. Any advise would be gratefully received.

Xx

IsabellaMoltisantixx · 22/09/2018 10:56

Isn't using clomid for more than three cycles dangerous in the long term bringing the menopause on faster and decreasing egg supply.??

Mummylaura1988 · 22/09/2018 11:21

They gave me 6 months worth so I don't think there is any evidence to support that as I don't think they would give it for that long if that was the case x

AliceScarlett · 22/09/2018 19:51

6 months is NICE approved, after that there is a very small risk of increased ovarian cancer. Read about people having 12 cycles in the US though.

Clomid has regulated my cycle, it has been 28 days for the last 4 months, which is unusual for me .

OP posts:
Mummylaura1988 · 22/09/2018 20:43

It manages to shorten my cycle last month from 95 days to 40 cycle. Do you think it would make my cycle any shorter now? My period was induced by taking northistertone and then i started the clomid on cycle day 2 this month my period came on its own but I'm a bit worried that my cycle length could shorten again this month and then i could miss ovulation. Any advise welcome xx
