Congrats confusion!

Does anyone know the answer to this?
So I'm basically infertile at the moment they're hoping once I lose some weight it'll kick start everything again, however I'm having regularish periods (cycle length average 35 days) and cm changes - is this just an automatic response or does the body need the right hormone levels to go through these changes?
So I'm not producing any progesterone (less than 1 in all bloods done this year) so how does my body know to change cm and have a period?

AmyL88 · 01/02/2018 17:33

@ConfusionIsNothingNew OMG Congrats!!!! That's 3 BFP's this thread has seen!!

@holly are you on clomid? (Sorry can't remember) My periods have been bang on 28 days and plenty of CM since i have been on clomid. I took December off from the tablets and my cycle went back to 36 days and no CM....I think my weight may be due to PCOS too! my BMI is 29 but ideally want to get that down to 25.

I had a consultant appt today and he agreed to give me another 3 months on clomid. Also booked in for a hycosy 28th Feb so lets see what that says!

AmyL88 · 01/02/2018 17:36

@Holly Sorry just re read your post and realised my answer was not helpful. I think our bodies can still go through the motion without ovulating! My periods average about 36 days when not on medication and i was having positive OPKS but not until around CD20/21. When my progesterone was taken it was 12 so they classed this as no ovulation even though the hormone level was there as i had CM and positive OPK....Just a mind f**K really!

Alicejj8x · 01/02/2018 18:36

I had really stretchy CM Friday just gone
AF hasn't arrived and it's been 4 days did a preg test yday & negative. Could it be I ovulated later and maybe see how it goes in 2 weeks? If I ovulated Friday

Why is this all confusing lol! Also on metformin so worried if AF hasn't shown then the tablets aren't working?

SoapyChoc · 01/02/2018 18:45

Congratulations Confusion pleased to see people are having success with the Clomid.

It may well be you ovulated late Alice

HollyWollyDooDah · 02/02/2018 00:31

Lol Amy it's ok I think my body is confused bless it

I'm not allowed any intervention until my bmi is 29.9 (currently 37.4)
So I get to go to the hospital to be told to lose weight and come back in 3 months
So frustrating as weight loss does not happen over night

Don't get me wrong I know how much better I'll be without the excess weight but it just seems so impossible to do - feel like it will take me years to get that low again

intrigued2018 · 02/02/2018 22:10

Congratulations Confusion!!!! Such amazing news

@Holly - I know how hard it can be, I’ve started the weight lost this week and so far lost 6lb in one week. I have cut out all meat from my diet and tried to follow a gluten free diet where possible plus gone for a 5km walk every night with DH - it’s actually nice as gives us more chance to talk and take time out together! Good luck, I’m confident we will all get our positive tests one day x

HollyWollyDooDah · 04/02/2018 20:13

I hope so!
When I sit and think about it I hate that y life has to revolve around everyone saying lose weight, I may be making assumptions here but usually by people who are either overweight, never struggled with their weight or never struggled with ttc

Oh and af showed up on day 25 and is raging
All I want to eat is cheese

AuntynottheMum · 06/02/2018 19:32

Hiya Ladies,

Not long joined the site and thought I wonder if they had a PCOS group for TTC and i found this thread! Hope you’ve all been keeping well and congrats to the ladies with BFPs!

I’ve got a bit of a TMI question.. I’ve been tracking my CM for a few months (well trying to) but I feel like I have a lot of CM most days of the month even during my period?! Can that happen? Because it’s very confusing when trying to track ovulation :(

Thanks in advance xx

intrigued2018 · 06/02/2018 22:48

Hi Aunty,

Welcome to this thread.
I am sure one of the girls on here will be able to help, unfortunately it’s not something I experience. Tracking ovulation I find near on impossible and CM changes every day without any real reason so it does impact CM!

Good luck ttc x

Millypad · 08/02/2018 10:43

Hello, can I please join? Ttc for 17 months, 1 loss and diagnosed with pcos last year. Period shy and ovulation even shyer!

Just had ovarian drilling last month and feeling hopeful, but I’ve had a few weeks of just solid smileys and flashing smileys but temps suggest I haven’t ovulated yet... phew, exhausting! Does anyone else get this many positives on opks with pcos?

MermaidTail7 · 08/02/2018 11:42

Hi Millypad, I have PCOS, and reading around it seems that it is not uncommon for ladies with PCOS to get some fairly strange/unreliable results when OPK-ing..

Alicejj8x · 08/02/2018 13:40

Ladies help!!!...

I haven't been feeling right all week.. I was sick last night which was abit odd but put it down to maybe the metformin even thou I've now been on it for 3 months..

Anyway my right boob has been tingling and feeling weird for 2 days and today my back hurts so I jisy done a preg test and abit of wee did get into it as there was a wee bubble in the window however left it for 5 mins and came back to this??

The control line is much darker than the test?? So does that mean invalid?

ConfusionIsNothingNew · 08/02/2018 14:57

Oh wow Alice I'd take that as a positive test!

Where are you in your cycle?

Alicejj8x · 08/02/2018 15:27

I did another to be sure..but won't let me upload anymore today

I was meant to come on period last Monday and nothing but that's not unusual for me as my periods aren't on time.

I think I ovulated 2 weeks ago Friday so the 26th jan and have had a few funny signs this week so far
Tingling boob
Sore boobs
was sick last night
Bad bad back and I never get this
A cold

I'm so scared incase this is false

Alicejj8x · 08/02/2018 19:19

Can you take metformin whilst pregnant?

ConfusionIsNothingNew · 08/02/2018 20:34

Sounds about right for your dates then!

I stopped taking Metformin when I found out I was pregnant. I'm not sure if I was advised to or whether I just stopped of my own accord.

Alicejj8x · 09/02/2018 14:42

Thank you. I rang today and they told me to keep taking metformin till 12 weeks but I'm
So
Confused atm..

Can anyone help me work out how far gone I am

I did a clear blue digi and it said 1-2 weeks but I've heard that technically I'm classed as a
Month already

The app says 5 weeks + 4?

My last period started on the 1st jan
I think I ovulated late and ovulated on the 26th jan

I don't know how to work it out

ConfusionIsNothingNew · 09/02/2018 15:37

If you ovulated on the 26th Jan then you are 14 DPO today, ie due your period today. That would make you 4 weeks pregnant exactly.

Some due date calculators don't take into account long cycles (or you have to change your cycle length manually) so that's why it would have calculated 5+4 from the first day of your last period.

Alicejj8x · 09/02/2018 15:54

I'm
Fairly sure I ovulated around then as I had a lot of the CM but didn't actually do a OPK

It's so confusing isn't it lol. Thank you very much xxx

SLady · 10/02/2018 08:40

Just checking in! What a great thread this has been... congrats confusion & alice on your bfps!

Hoping it continues for everyone xx

Hope this cycle is going well amy and mermaid tail

Alicejj8x · 10/02/2018 08:58

Thank you so much. Here's to hoping the scan goes okay :/

CantThink1 · 11/02/2018 19:03

Hello, just joining!

I am loving everyones positivity from what I have managed to read so far, seems just what I need. Congrats to all on recent BFPs!!

I'm TTC#1, came off the pill 2014 and been really relaxed about TTC scince but periods have been irregular. Went to see the doc re our concerns early 2017 and decided it's time to concentrate on TTC. Lots of blood tests, ultrasound and transvaginal scans later I have confirmed PCOS and am now on month 4 of taking metformin. Cycles 4 months long. DR asked me to go back after 6 months of metformin for possible referral, I may ask for clomid at that point but not too sure how it works. So that's me and my story so far, just joining for the ride as seems as though a lot of people in the same boat.

X

Alicejj8x · 11/02/2018 19:16

@CantThink1 welcome :)

I too was like you cycles really irregular every 3 months was put on metformin in December and seemed to fall pregnant in January. Wether it was the tablet or just luck who knows but I was due to get my clomid tablet next week aswell and currently I am 5 weeks pregnant and praying everything is ok due to having a miscarriage in 2016!

I would ask for clomid
100% as that will help regulate your ovulation & is there to help make you ovulate. so I would defo go for that tablet next!
Xx
