Hi all. We're a group of first timers who've been plugging away on the conception boards for some time. The support here is amazing so if you're in a similar boat please jump onboard.

Time to hand hold through treatments and support each other through to becoming the mums we deserve to be 💪🏼🌸🙏🏼

We are moving down that way next year! How random! Beautiful spot! Need to have a little look in when we are viewing houses next weekend 😊

OverinaFlash · 03/11/2017 14:05

Ooo plane what areas are you looking to move to?

Jamon · 03/11/2017 14:36

penguin that's wonderful news Smile

Slightly further south, but basically around Haywards Heath area!

Currently in central London so it will be a lovely change and we can finally get a wee scruffy dog! Yippee!!

Great news penguin!!

Happy Friday ladies ☺️

Pyjamas81 · 03/11/2017 15:35

Sorry guys - I keep dropping off and the days run away from me!! AF arrived today and my mood has been FOUL the last few days - I nearly cried at my desk yesterday because I felt so low. Feeling a bit better today.

Can't believe you're starting so soon jam and HUGE congratulations again to otters!! Looks like great progress kwick - am rooting for you and have a great feeling!

Really not great behaviousr from your DH chlo but sounds like he feels pretty bad about it! Maybe his tolerance to booze isn't what it once was so the effects may have caught him by surprise. I had one glass of wine a while ago and felt drunk - back in the day I could polish off a bottle with no trouble at all!

Me and DH have had a rough few days - he was having trouble adjusting to his new (healthy) diet and I was losing my patience with him. We're better now and have a proper meal plan for next week. Going to Waitrose for a big shop tonight (I know, what fun on a Friday) as I'm going to be at the Fertility Show this weekend and won't have time. Is anyone else going? I'm going mainly just to see some seminars (particularly around male infertility) and I'm also paying the HFEA stand a visit to ask why the F the DNA fragmentation test isn't offered before time and money is wasted on private IVF, and why it's not available on the NHS at all.

Have been feeling pretty negative recently, but here's my attempt at Friday positives:

  1. I'm working from home on Monday so it almost feels like a 3 day weekend
  2. Me and DH made up last night after I had a cry and got rid of the tension
  3. I just cheered myself up immensely by having a big shop on naturisimo.com for natural and paraben free beauty products!
OverinaFlash · 03/11/2017 15:39

Sorry penguin I missed replying to eggy news! Very exciting!

Oh lovely plane we have friends in Haywards Heath. Lindfield is a beautiful village just outside it in case you don't know.

Had a terrible driving lesson, but I think she will whip me into shape. Onwards and upwards! Although she did say it's a shame I'll have to do the new test that's coming up as it's harder. But never mind!

sk1pper · 03/11/2017 15:56

Penguin - that’s great news! I’m really happy for you 😊

Flash - er, what’s different about the new test? Don’t worry that you had a rough lesson, you’re a learner and you get to make mistakes - I can promise you you’ll get there eventually.

Pyjamas - yeah we’re thinking of going since our recent news. I feel like I need advice that isn’t NHS advice. I love the NHS but sometimes I feel like a number going through various cogs in a giant machine.

Pyjamas81 · 03/11/2017 16:40

Makes sense skip - although I also feel like a number in the private system which is basically a big money making machine run on hope and desperation in equal measure. I’ve become very cynical lately! I really hope you get some guidance though!

I need to get my license as well flash - I had one in the US when I lived there, but seem to have a mental block about getting it here! Roads too small with no room for error, roundabouts, and parking spaces barely suitable for one bum cheek let alone a car. I sound like such an American 😂

kwick · 03/11/2017 19:32

otters I got hangers, tea towels, some tops, some leggings, and a few things that I took back today and swapped for 2 more tops and a jumper - oh and I got 2 🎄 jumpers Grin

That is a nice story chlo

Well done kerry hope you are doing ok

Am loving the PMA penguin!!

jamon Progynova stops you getting cysts on your ovaries - that is what Dr said to me today.
Hope you are feeling better? Flowers

flash biscuit prescriptions 😂
Hope you are feeling brighter today my lovely 😘

Oh chlo really sorry to hear about DH
Hope he is contrite

Great pic jamon

penguin such good news - you see you are lovely and juicy!

I WANT TO BE NEAR STANDEN HOUSE
#jealousy

geeup I want to see the new Poirot too - although my heart will always belong to David Suchet

pyjamas sorry about the dark mood but the sun will shine again soon - I promise (make sure you are getting plenty of vit D in the meantime).
I will not be at the show - very glad you are going to take a stand with HEFA. You go girl!!!

flash I had over 30 lessons before I passed my driving test (in Barcelona) - I am sure you will do better than me Grin

So AF arrived yesterday- a week early!
I had my baseline scan today and have just stabbed myself with the Cetrotide - first time with this regime... bloody complicated one!
I start Progynova tomorrow.
Next scan - to check lining - on 14/11 and likely FET 21/11......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I suddenly feel like I am not prepared - which is a fricking joke seeing as this is try number 10!!!! But I mean from a food perspective and also this protocol is different but I will be fine!!!
😬

WingingIt83 · 03/11/2017 19:54

Exciting kwick fingers crossed this is the lucky one for you!

pj I am going tomorrow. Having shortlisted loads of seminars we are now probably only going to one on ivf abroad tomorrow morning. Others I was interested in were at opposite ends of the day which didn't really suit our plans. Hoping to go to some of the q&a panels too.

otters2017 · 03/11/2017 23:00

Happy weekend everyone! I'm so glad it's here. Testing again tomorrow, feeling excited and nervous.

chlo good luck for your appointment next week. Hope your DH apologized and makes it up to you

jam that pic is so true!

flash sorry it wasn't a great driving lesson. I didn't realize there's a new test - what's the difference ? Christmas afternoon tea sounds great.

inspectorpenguin great news about your tiddlers and good luck for EC on Monday

pjs hope the fertility show is useful tomorrow and yes go tell HFEA!

kwick yay for starting. Good luck with your treatment 🤞 great shopping haul!

wingingit hope the fertility show will be useful for you too.

Pyjamas81 · 03/11/2017 23:39

Aargh I hated the cetrotide kwick - so bloody fiddly! It’s getting so close for you!!

Hope you enjoy it winging - DH was going to come, but he forgot he had rugby tickets with his dad! I shall be taking copious notes. His urologist is on a q and a panel on Sunday so looking forward to seeing that.

Good luck with the test tomorrow otters! You’re an absolute hero for not testing every day/half hour!

struggleisreal · 04/11/2017 09:01

penguin that is great news, hope you're feeling tip top for your egg collection on Monday!

otters best of luck for today! Hope there is progression.

pjs maybe you should plan in some treats to your diet, might make it feel slightly less overwhelming?

Flash it took me years about 5 different instructors to learn...you'll get there, take your time.

wow kwick how exciting - seems like you wait and wait and then it all happens super quick!

Hope you girls enjoy the fertility show, looking forward to hearing what you learn.

Day 18 of downregging today and I'm already so bored of it...to be honest wish I'd not kicked the booze completely as it's made it feel more like life is completely on hold and I might regret it if doesn't work...plus I'm sure everyone thinks I'm pregnant. Next time I'd definitely allow myself the odd glass of wine! Scan on Wednesday then hopefully onto stims. Had a nice evening with friends yesterday though and a lovely weekend planned so I'm nearly there....

otters2017 · 04/11/2017 12:47

Good news got good line progression and pregnant 1-2 on a digi so feeling reassured and relieved for now. It's going to be a long worrying journey ahead but for now everything looks good!

pjs and wingingit have an informative day at the fertility show and do share with us some gems.

struggle good luck for your scan on weds. It does feel like forever going through treatment and then eternity during the 2WW. TBH the waiting never goes away. It's a constant long wait! Glad you have a lovely weekend planned.

kwick · 04/11/2017 15:46

That is great news otters!!!!

I have had a productive day so far - no I have not done my tax return - BUT I did get a handyman over to do some odd jobs and I have cleared more crap out of my living room - so the flat is finally decent for visitors!

Cannot wait to hear about fertility show. Cannot fathom why I have not been to one in all this time of trying Confused

QuietTime · 04/11/2017 16:06

Great news otters, that's so lovely!

Yay penguin - go egg-lets! What a rollercoaster, though

Sorry about AF PJs hope the mood has lifted xx

flash you'll get there! My dad mostly taught me to drive, which involved tears and moods - but despite the times I felt it went terribly, it worked out Grin

kwick I love how you crack on with your to-do list - bet the flat looks great :)

WingingIt83 · 04/11/2017 18:45

We found it really useful, despite only going for 3 hours and doing 2 seminars, and being at the start of our ivf journey.
We did one of the abroad talks ...i know want to go to Norway Grin
And then a really good one on nutrition, although a lot of the stuff I knew from reading things like 'it starts with the egg' it went into a lot more detail on both the male and female side.

Stand wise I spoke to an acupuncture lady about my idea of stopping for a couple of months and she talked me through the pro's and con's of that and looked at my charts.

Then talked to Abc and Care and a couple of other supplement ones. Took away lots of ideas and an action plan for the next 3 months as that's essentially the time until egg collection.

kwick · 04/11/2017 22:02

@WingingIt83 sounds very interesting and that you got a lot out of it. Bravo!

MouseLove · 05/11/2017 16:27

Ah just catching up now. Had a busy few days at work then an action packed weekend.

I went to watch the football Friday night, had a pedicure yesterday, my ultrasound was today and then I’ve got acupuncture tomorrow. Scan went ok, she didn’t give me any info but I managed to snap a pic of something as I was getting dressed, any clue?? (I’ve attached)

Otters I’m so glad your line has darkened. Wishing you a boring 9 months filled with smiles and excitement. Xxx

Chlo eek, hope you’ve sorted things out with your DH, give him a big slap on the wrist from us all!!

Flash it took me a few attempts to pass my driving test (bloody years ago now, feeling old) but the thing I remember sticking with me was to just go with it, what’s the worst that can happen since your instructor also has pedals. (Well mine did lol) and if they don’t, then just slow and steady wins the race in one piece.

Penguin so glad your tiddlers are growing well, FC for a big EC tomorrow. You’ve been an absolute trouper!!

Geeup eeeek exciting its so close now for you!!!

Pyjamas I love a good menu plan, honestly think it removes half of couple arguments 😂 And none of that “what’s for tea?” Questions lol.

Kwick erm, what’s that about an early AF!!?? What a bitch! Did you have a super short cycle then??

Struggle FX for Wednesday!!!! Keep going!!!

Wingingit the fertility show sounds very interesting! Would be interested to see what the acupuncturist said. I don’t know, I feel a bit of a miracle juice in just one session and I suddenly had a 2 day longer luteal phase. Wondering if it was a coincidence or pure magic!!!

Sending positive Monday vibes to everyone!! And happy bonfire day (is that even a thing lol)

Thread 32 | TTC#1 | Making the move from conception to infertility. We've taken some blows but we are not beaten
WingingIt83 · 05/11/2017 21:59

mouse on my first full cycle of doing acupuncture by luteal went up by about 5 days! Next month it dropped a bit but still normal but month 3 was a terrible 9 days again. Month 4 then shot up to 13days again. A lot of them seem to say this fluctuation is normal as it trys to bring your hormones into balance. She said I should really be continuing it and with the bbt, and obviously it was clear I wasn't going to be buying any services off her (she's London) so I didn't feel it was a sales pitch.
She looked at my charts and said that they still weren't ideal as in luteal although I do increase in temp it does dip fairly regularly.

Jamon · 05/11/2017 22:33

Struggle would non alcoholic wine or beer help? 🍷 good luck weds!

Great news otters xx

Winging the show sounds great, glad you got so much out of it

When do you get your scan results mouse? It looks very nice I have no further insight 😃

OP posts:
kwick · 06/11/2017 07:46

Sorry mouse all scans to me look like outer space😬
Um but you mean they did not give you results there and then? Why the hell not???? Such bureaucracy!!!!
I am really pleased with the earlier AF - dates work loads better for me to have scans etc. My AF sometimes does that: long, long, short... TBH things have been a bit different since last MC. Hope not the change....
Could be the acupuncture- so good you are liking it.
I am going back for another Spa day on Sunday - so I can indulge in steam & hot rooms and having a massage before FET - then all that will be forbidden! Also having another Reiki session!!!!

Happy Monday everyone!!!

OverinaFlash · 06/11/2017 10:07

Happy Monday ladies. Lovely looking uterus Mouse cannot understand ultrasound images at all!

Second driving lesson today, hoping I've retained at least some of what she told me on Friday so she doesn't yell at me. I've booked a block of 10 lessons so that should get me up to Christmas.

I'm also on a serious weight loss mission. Lost 2 pounds last week.

I've decided once I pass my driving test I'm going to look for a new job. Extra motivation for passing. I've emailed my old university about using their alumni careers service.

MouseLove · 06/11/2017 10:14

😂 I mean I have no clue what I’m looking at either. But that photo is TERRIBLE jeeze MN sucked all the life out of it.

So here it is better quality
imgur.com/i2MnTRY

There’s a little black spot on it. Says it measures 0.30cm 🤓🙈 That’s pretty tiny whatever it is.

Also I had to google how big our ovaries are. I am so clueless it’s embarrassing. (3-5cm for all of you wondering blindly lol)

OverinaFlash · 06/11/2017 10:44

When will they give you results Mouse?

Got our appointment with the GP on Friday morning, nervous but excited!
