Hi all. We're a group of first timers who've been plugging away on the conception boards for some time. The support here is amazing so if you're in a similar boat please jump onboard.

Time to hand hold through treatments and support each other through to becoming the mums we deserve to be 💪🏼🌸🙏🏼

Happy Tuesday everyone, and welcome Loulabelle! You've certainly had an eventful ride but I hope your next stage is much shorter and smoother going. We'll all be happy to go through it with you whatever it brings.
I echo those who said the HSG is fine btw. I hardly felt anything - the only tricky bit was dealing with the mess from the lube and dye afterwards, so if you're going back to work maybe take a comfortable slimline pad with you (otherwise you'll be wearing the massive NHS one!).

Sorry I can't make the meet this weekend, Jam, my folks are coming down to visit to see our new house. Hope you guys have a lovely day and we look forward to hearing the report :)

Kwick, I would say that I am looking forward to hearing the fanjo-steam report too, but, errrrrr.... Grin

Struggle I think the treats are a lovely idea myself and I might well have to have a think about something similar. We have some lovely Hotel Chocolat chocs around actually which might be reserved for that.

Nice to see you again PJs and really sorry that you've been having a tough time emotionally with all this. GREAT news about the job application though. You're right, it's very sad indeed when we realise we're wishing our life away because of work. As is my mantra: life is too short for that! I really hope this is the start of a happier time for you.

I hope your appointment goes well on Thurs and you get a solid protocol set up. Everything crossed for third time lucky for you both x
(And I don't use Twitter, but love your name!)

Nothing to report from this end. Still taking my Norethisterone until Friday and then expect next period to begin early next week, with injections from next Weds. A week tomorrow in fact.
Really hoping I don't suffer too badly with the mood swings or anything else while going through it all. DP has a very important professional exam later this month and will be stressed enough about that without me being a hormonal mess..!

HepKestrel · 10/10/2017 16:37

welcome Loulabelle

cd38: feeling very pms-y, not pregnant and just fed up waiting for AF to arrive. Think i am going to break my record for longest cycle post mc. (again).

after several months of "low stress" ttc (pfft), i will crack out the IC again next cycle.

fanjo steam ??????? did i miss something here??

(l'occitane advent box has arrived Smile, have to hide it from OH, as christmas mentions are banned until 1st Dec.)

JeNeBaguetteRien · 10/10/2017 17:45

Ooh Penguin hope you're settling in to your new home.

Hep - relaxed TTC? Can hardly remember what that's like.

In fertile week, forgot my conceive plus lube, have tried lots of pharmacies in Spain but been met with blank looks. I am however going to start my progesterone after ovulation which you can buy here with no problems. Have IVF appointment soon so this is all a last ditch attempt. But making sure to enjoy the holiday too and eat lots!

MouseLove · 10/10/2017 18:14

Wait. Steaming your fanjo?? When did this happen. 😂

I'm now picturing one of those things you use to buff up cakes to make them SHINY

Relaxed TTC... I got sent this text today from a friend after I mentioned acupuncture who probably meant well but all I wanted to do was this...

"Here’s hoping. If nothing else they say being more relaxed helps fertility so that side of it should help. If I were you I’d be getting massages and facials galore too xx"

giphy.com/gifs/reaction-applause-clapping-bb0Xwo6UoHTPy

And talking of acupuncture... appointment booked for next Thursday. 💪🙈 Does it hurt?? I'm a wimp lol.

JeNe progesterone is on my list. Bugger that I didn't think to look in Madrid. I'm gonna mention that at my drs appointment.

Hep. Eek. I'm sorry you're having long cycles. I can sympathise (pre mmc) but it really does piss you off doesn't it. 🤞

Pjs I watched a great "hope" inspired fertility video on YouTube a few months ago. While you might think your hope is gone, it's not, it's just hiding for a moment. Remember this... “Hope is a renewable option: If you run out of it at the end of the day, you get to start over in the morning.”

kwick · 10/10/2017 18:42

baguette there is a lot of choice:

http://theldndiaries.com/beauty-advent-calendar-guide-2017/

So good to hear good things about IVI - they are the FC I am using now!!!
Have a great holiday!

I think I may have missed welcoming loulabelle - my apologies & welcome!!!

hep after my first MC I think it was 9 weeks before I got my AF. Hang in there! But if at all worried about it see a Dr.

FANJO STEAMING: I have not done it (yet) but I saw a couple of YouTube videos about it and it looked really interesting as is said to help womble. In LA you can go to a spa to have it done, Blighty is way behind and all I can do here is buy the herbs but I would have to DIY - which I cannot quite get my head around....

So lots of comms with IVI Spain today - they have matched donors to me and I could be doing FET as early as mid November!!

Ah thank you mouse! I love the idea of hope being renewable! I'm almost scared of hope at the moment, but I'll be fine once we get going. Having a slightly longer break was the best decision - if I'd done the same as last time, I'd be starting injections tonight. Way too soon.

Ooo it all starts very soon for you penguin! If it helps, I didn't get too many side effects from the medication.

Honestly don't remember what relaxed TTC is like hep - I'm actually relieved that we're not allowed to TTC this month!

baguette - maybe Amazon will deliver it to you!

kwick · 10/10/2017 22:50

lemon I find the fanjo scans so much easier when I have AF... the scanner personnel are used to it and I am sure it will be over in a jiffy. Best of luck!

pjs I am so excited for you! Also cannot wait to meet you in person!!!

Pyjamas81 · 10/10/2017 22:52

Me too kwick! Really looking forward to it!

Jamon · 11/10/2017 08:28

Morning girls Brew hope you’re all doing fine

Struggle I like the idea of having a calming injection ritual

Mouse those appointments are nerve wracking - it’s emotional talking about it, it worries me they won’t do anything and test results are nerve wracking. I tend to feel better after appointments though, it feels like you’re making progress

Kwick sounds like things are moving along quite quickly! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Fingers crossed for Thursday pyjamas. We’re not allowed to try next cycle and I’m quite looking forward to that - although it’ll be weird after two years of going at it.

Hope you’re having a lovely hol jene

No worries penguin hope you have a lovely weekend

Hope you’re out of limbo soon hep

I’m on a ten day Headspace streak and can feel the difference. Am sleeping better and just dealing with unwanted thoughts much more easily. Got counselling tonight, and acupuncture again Friday. Had a sip of DH red wine with a steak on Saturday but otherwise steady Stoptober so far which I’m also enjoying. Trying to get my body and mind ready for IVF as much as possible.

The TTC / infertility community on instagram is amazing by the way - for anyone who uses it. Lots of positive vibes, quotes, imagery. If you want my IG ID please PM me!

ha pyjamas ! relaxed ttc may be an oxymoron..... I just needed a break from the stress of ovulation sticks and dtd planning/scheduling.

it was good for my MH if nothing else. but now my MH wants me to take control back again.

I would love to join you in London, but i'm up north.

Are you all going to meet in the train station holding carnations??

Jamon · 11/10/2017 11:10

Love the hats hep you could make a fortune flogging those to us infertiles!

I have these quotes that pop up on my computer each day - today's is 'You are stronger than your challenges and your challenges are making you stronger'. Thought it was a nice one to share.

MouseLove · 11/10/2017 12:53

Just spat my tea everywhere. Those hats hep. 😂😂😂😂😂

Well I was brave and changed my Facebook profile pic to include a pregnancy and baby loss awareness banner for this weeks awareness week. So many people have commented on it. I didn't really expect it, more so that people would like it and move on. I've had family members message me and friends share their stories and then today I actually got baby bombed... but in the nicest way possible.

Friend who I haven't seen in forever messaged me to pass on condolences. Shared she had a miscarriage last year. Didn't say anything but I felt like I needed to say that if she ever wanted to chat or anything just to pm me. Turns out she's 33 weeks pregnant and honestly I'm really happy for them. Lovely couple and are going to make brilliant parents. And while I feel really happy for them it also still hurts to think I'm still on this journey. BUT it makes me think more positively. For us all, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we WILL get there via whatever method. We will be mothers. I promise.

Wasn't it kelly clarkson or someone who said "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger"? 😂🙈 yes I'm going with that, and fanjo steaming. Kinda glad it's not the other way round. Nobody wants a steaming fanjo with no excuse lol

HeppyKestrel · 11/10/2017 13:07

you're welcome mouse Grin

Pyjamas81 · 11/10/2017 13:30

Oh YES to those hats hep! I’ll make a few earrings out of OPKs and our outfit will be complete 😂

That was very brave of you mouse and I’m so glad you had a positive response. I want to post about Fertility awareness week when it comes up, but don’t think DH would appreciate it so will try and contribute in other ways. You’re bound to feel sad for yourself, but so great you can see the positive as well xx

Jamon · 11/10/2017 18:00

Those hats! 😂

Mouse well done you getting it out there. It’s not easy and will have touched a lot of people - a few who may have personal experience of it too.

If what doesn't kill us makes us stronger we're going to be the strongest gals around! ❤️

kwick · 11/10/2017 21:09

I 😍the hat hep 😂😂😂

mouse so are you actually going to do the fanjo steaming??? Shock i just did an Amazon and flipping forgot to include apparatus for said procedure...

I went on an expedition to Southgate’s Asda this evening:

  • on a positive note the tube station is a lovely Art Deco one
  • on a bum note Asda will not accept my prescription- have to see if IVI Spain will send an original
You did all know that Asda sell non-for-profit IVF drugs? I did not - could have saved myself thousands on drugs!!!
Jamon · 11/10/2017 22:34
