Hi! I'm hoping that this is 3rd time lucky for us... due to start process for my first Frozen transfer in June, with the actual transfer being in July... anyone want to join me on the journey? We have 2 unsuccessful fresh cycles behind us, and I have this one single little embryo from the last cycle sitting in the freezer waiting for me. It's a 3BB and all my hopes are pinned on it being the one!
We have unexplained secondary infertility, have a DS who will be 4 in August, and I've just turned 40, so time isn't on our side... so I'm now waiting for my period to start (due in about 10-14 days, although my cycles are mucked up since our ivf failed in April)... but once it comes i will be down regged to them do transfer early July I think! Fingers crossed we get lucky this time...!

Just had my lone embryo put back. Was very pessimistic but today they have graded it with the highest grade so it's some consolation for it being the only one. Now just have to wait until Tuesday week to see what it got up to. I didn't think about the 2ww yet so it's nice to realise that two days habe already passed.
Good luck to everyone!
The transfer doesn't hurt at all btw.

Hopes2bmom · 29/06/2017 16:10

Hey James! That's great that you had your transfer! I hope and pray that the lil embie sticks in there! Excited for you.

Pyjamas81 · 29/06/2017 16:17

Great to hear about the high grade James! Fx for you and hope the rest of the TWW goes quickly.

Any more news hopes?

Egg collection for me tomorrow - Gah. Any tips?

79Karen · 29/06/2017 16:30

Fingers crossed for you James hope that embryo is snuggling in. Good luck for tomorrow pyjamas hope it goes smoothly

Hopes2bmom · 29/06/2017 16:47

Fingers crossed for tomorrow pyjamas! I'm feeling terrible, too much of cramps and bloating and constipation too(tmi) had gone to the clinic for a check, they said there's so much fluid accumulated and the ovaries looks enlarged_(which is expected due to more number of eggs) so they said it's a mild ohss symptoms and asked me to take high fibre diet and lots of liquid, I would feel the discomfort until my bleed.

I would get a call from embryologist on Saturday (day 4) on how those are doing and a call on Sunday after they freeze, I'm so nervous until then.

If all goes well and if we have good grades embryos to freeze im taking a lil break, my body needs it, it needs to get back to normal and we are planning a vacation too. So I'm planning for a two months break and then fet.

Ozzyboo · 29/06/2017 17:18

Congrats on the high grade embryo James and good luck for EC tomorrow Pjs! You're both almost there! Got everything crossed for you both 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Pyjamas81 · 29/06/2017 18:57

Right so I'm a bit worried that I have absolutely zero symptoms today. I mean I haven't had many at all since starting stims (slight awareness of ovaries at most), but today I feel nothing, nada, zilch. Could the ovitrelle have made me ovulate early?! Everything I read days people feel bloated etc the day before EC and I feel nothing!

I'm probably overthinking it aren't I... Someone give me a slap if necessary.

laurelstar · 29/06/2017 20:03

Hi Hopes and sorry for the delay in reply. I had two periods between my egg collection and my FET. I'm not sure if a FET has a higher rate of success than a fresh transfer, but you definitely need to let your body recover if you have even mild OHSS, which I did. My FET did result in a bfp and I very much hope yours does too.
Sending you good vibes.

laurelstar · 29/06/2017 20:04

Hi Pyjamas don't worry. I had much worse symptoms after the egg collection than before. Everyone is different! Good luck!

GirlcalledJames · 29/06/2017 20:10

Pyjamas, I had all the symptoms and a pretty useless result, my fiancee had zero symptoms amd an excellent result, my best friend had severe OHSS and a mediocre result. I don't think the symptoms mean anything.

Pyjamas81 · 29/06/2017 20:14

Thanks for the reassurance ladies - think I'm just stressing about tomorrow!

geeup · 29/06/2017 20:19

Pyjamas I had zero symptoms before or after egg collection. I only made 6 eggs though so maybe it's worse the more you make?

Pyjamas81 · 29/06/2017 20:21

Ah that makes sense - they're predicting they'll get about 6-7 from me, so maybe that's why!

geeup · 29/06/2017 21:01

Well the good news is that they may well be even better quality. Sometimes less is more! Very best of luck tomorrow - it's honestly nothing to worry about. Take a magazine and enjoy a bit of lying around ;)

Pyjamas81 · 29/06/2017 21:03

That's what I keep telling myself! Thanks gee 😊

Hopes2bmom · 29/06/2017 22:59

Pyjamas don't worry, we all are different with how each body responds, you will have a good number of eggs tomorrow

Hi laurelstar , thank you for the reassurance, how many eggs did you get in that cycle and how many embryos fertilised and made it to blasts? Can you share if you don't mind.

Nigeltufnellover · 30/06/2017 07:11

Good luck today pyjamas! Hope it all goes well.

Goodluckjonathan76 · 30/06/2017 10:03

Morning all. Good luck today Pyjamas, let us know how it goes!

So, finally decided that we will definitely go ahead with IVF next cycle, due to start on Sunday. Did a pregnancy test this morning and negative, of course. Scared but a bit excited. Just wanted to check two things:
once you start IVF, are you allowed to have unprotected sex or not? Also, do you have to stop drinking? Just realised I have quite a few social things lined up this month.

LoPl · 30/06/2017 10:21

Good luck today pyjamas and fingers crossed for your embryos GirlcalledJames and Hopes. Definitely think of it as quality over quantity.

GoodluckJon - bon courage for your first cycle! You don't have to give up drink - but I think most of us are strict with it, as we want to give eggs the best chance of developing/have a little sense of control in a very uncontrollable situation. And I can't remember about sex.....

Still sniffing over here....

geeup · 30/06/2017 10:28

Good luck - you can't have unprotected sex from first day of period you're going to downregg on.
And re drinking, I was told the odd drink when downregging is ok, but try and abstain during stims. I had one pimms this week since starting stims as was at a social event and forgot for a moment! But otherwise I'll probably try and avoid.

Nigeltufnellover · 30/06/2017 10:49

Good luck goodluck!
We didn't abstain but as there is I think a 1% chance of us conceiving naturally (adhesions everywhere) no one warned us not to.
As for drink, I haven't quit totally, but have only had one drink when out, and nothing most days.

Hopes that sounds like a good plan to get yourself back to normal. Fingers crossed it's good news tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon.
And fingers crossed for your top of the class embryo James!

Just had another scan, still loads of follicles, some growing, feeling very uncomfortable. Like I'm carrying around a bag of spanners. Urgh. Hoping for ec mon or tues

79Karen · 30/06/2017 11:06

Quick question, did any of you have pink discharge (not enough to call spotting) during stims? I was finishing AF when I started stims but it's never 100% stopped. Of course I'm a little worried, I've left a message with my clinic but thought I'd see if anyone had similar?

Pyjamas81 · 30/06/2017 12:57

I'm awake! Egg collection went well (really nothing to worry about) and am currently lazing about in bed in my very lovely hospital room 😊 They just gave me a great meal too! They got 6 eggs (dr expected 7 but one follicle was empty) which is about as much as I could hope for with my low AMH and now waiting for dr to come around to hopefully get more detail. Fingers crossed...

Big fan of general anaesthetic - best sleep I've had in ages.

Is 6 eggs very low? Trying to manage my expectations...

Hopes2bmom · 30/06/2017 13:13

Hey pyjamas, that's a good job. Have a speedy recovery! 6 eggs is considerably good so have yours hopes high, did they tell you how many were matured? How about your partner's sperm reports, are you going for icsi? This ivf is a dreadful that we need to keep worrying at each stage. Lots of good vibes to you!! Xx 😘

Hopes2bmom · 30/06/2017 13:32

Hi Karen, sorry I haven't experienced anything like that. Like I had spotting for the initial few days May be 2 days of stims as my periods was settling down then did not see anything.
