Hi! I'm hoping that this is 3rd time lucky for us... due to start process for my first Frozen transfer in June, with the actual transfer being in July... anyone want to join me on the journey? We have 2 unsuccessful fresh cycles behind us, and I have this one single little embryo from the last cycle sitting in the freezer waiting for me. It's a 3BB and all my hopes are pinned on it being the one!
We have unexplained secondary infertility, have a DS who will be 4 in August, and I've just turned 40, so time isn't on our side... so I'm now waiting for my period to start (due in about 10-14 days, although my cycles are mucked up since our ivf failed in April)... but once it comes i will be down regged to them do transfer early July I think! Fingers crossed we get lucky this time...!

Hi all - hope everyone is ok today?
James - will have everything crossed for your embryo - it's all so precarious when the numbers don't go your way, and it does make you question things. If you do have to go through it again, then I'm sure they can learn and also I'm sure that as it's partly luck, you would hopefully be luckier if you don't get lucky this time!
Nigel - my brain was mush last time, this time it's better as FET isn't so hard on your system or emotionally, but I was pretty unproductive at work for a couple of weeks Confused
Hopes - thinking of you today, good luck!
Hope I haven't missed anyone else? What stage is everyone else at?
AFM I had my scan this morning and my lining is so thin she could barely measure it (I should think so too after 18 days - yes, 18 days - of period!) so I have my progynova pills (oestrogen) to take for the next 2 weeks, then assuming my lining is all built up, I'll have the transfer the following week... 🤞

An 18 day period, how awful! Sounds like you could use a nice juicy steak.

Hobbes39 · 27/06/2017 12:14

James - I've actually lost weight recently - been watching what I eat as I put on a bit during the fresh cycles, so wanted to lose some, but it's been easier than I expected to do so... so I'm now wondering if some of the weight lost is down to shedding so much of my womb lining! (Apologies if that's TMI!) Grin

Your poor friend james you'd think the clinic would have explained first. There does seem to be a real difference between clinics, whether NHS or not no one needs to be in unnecessary pain .

Hello ladies! Hope you all are doing good. Had my EC today, right now I'm having all mixed feelings.they have collected 20 eggs, means 20 egges out of 20 follicles, they are surprised, me as well. Bad news is they want to do a freez all cycle due to these many eggs, no ET this month 😒😭. I'm kind disappointed too as I had made up mind for this month.

Hopes2bmom · 27/06/2017 16:56

Right now I am completely fine except that I feel so sleepy due to sedation, but they say they are not doing this cycle because there could be a lot of liquid secretions from the follicles and hormone levels will be too high and also delevop ohss later. Now I have another appointment on Thursday to do a scan and checked how things look and then I have an appointment with RE the nfollowing week. I am happy with the results but so disappointed though.

geeup · 27/06/2017 17:41

Sorry to hear your at risk of OHSS hopes. However look on the bright side - 20 eggs!! That's amazing. It's a sensible precaution to protect you and in the grand scheme of things, a month will go quickly. Glad it went well and good luck for fertilisation!

laurelstar · 27/06/2017 18:15

Well done on your egg collection hopes. That puts you in an excellent position for your FET. The month will be over before too long and it's much better for your body to have time to heal. I had to wait two cycles after my collection to let my body recover and avoid further OHSS.

Hopes2bmom · 27/06/2017 18:45

Thank you gee up and laurel.

Laurel, when did you have your fet. so how many periods did you have before your fet, one will be right after ec. They have prescribed few more medications and cetrotide injections for the next one week to get my period back but that is like a reversing process and not a natural period. After that Do I need to wait for one or two cycles?
What was the fet outcome? Was it a bfp? Does fet has a better chance than fresh cycle? I'm having so many questions right now.

Nigeltufnellover · 27/06/2017 21:59

Hey hopes, I can imagine that must be really disappointing, any sort of delay feels a bit cruel because you get all fired up for it. And of course there's already been so much waiting. But I'm sure as laurel says the month will go quickly, and hopefully it'll be better for you and the embryo!
Our hospital is doing a study at the moment looking at why frozen transfers seem to do better than fresh, theory is that the body has time to recover, so fingers crossed you'll be in a great position when they do the FET.
Hope you recover quickly and get lots of rest xx

Hopes2bmom · 27/06/2017 22:14

Hello Nigel, thank you! I am actually perfectly fine now after a good nap after the retrieval, feels like I'm back to normal with zero symptoms or pain. Not sure how ohss kicks in and from when. Right now I'm just looking forward for tomorrow's call from embryologist. Isinve it's gonna be fet I just hope and pray that we get as many good blastocysts as possible because it has to survive thawing in the future cycle.

GirlcalledJames · 27/06/2017 22:15

Congratulations Hopes! I've also read that frozen cycles do better.
At our clinic they make you wait to have two periods before the next transfer as they said it's 'too much' but I don't know if that's universal.
The trouble is for them this month, next month, the month after, it's all the same, but for us it's a big difference and you need time to accept 'I have no chance of having a baby before next spring, before May, before June'.

Pyjamas81 · 28/06/2017 07:16

Well done hopes - the OHSS risk must be worrying, but that's a fantastic number of eggs! Have everything crossed for you 🤞🏼

On my way in for third scan/blood tests - they provisionally booked me in for EC on Friday so hopefully will know more about timing today. I've had absolutely zero side effects from the stims other than being more 'aware' my ovaries are there as follicles have grown. On the one hand I feel lucky, on the other, some mild symptoms would show me something is happening! My body can't win with me ha ha

Pyjamas81 · 28/06/2017 08:59

Scan all done and egg collection scheduled for Friday! Aaaargh! I've got 6 or 7 dominant follicles out of the 9 (which may grow enough by Friday) so they're going for it - they said my bloods and womb lining are perfect and we're good to go. Can't believe it!! Must. Keep. Realistic.

Hopes2bmom · 28/06/2017 09:38

That's great pyjamas, fingers crossed for you.

I'm feeling so weak and kinda nauseous today. Feel like all my energy is totally drained off.

geeup · 28/06/2017 10:21

Nice one pyjamas. Can't believe it's all happening already!! Good luck. Exciting times.

Goodluckjonathan76 · 28/06/2017 11:11

Good luck Pyjamas! Very encouraging that you haven't had any major side effects. Hoping I will be the same. What CD will Friday be for you|?

Goodluckjonathan76 · 28/06/2017 11:12

Also Pyjamas, were you unexplained? x

Pyjamas81 · 28/06/2017 11:32

Thanks guys!

Friday will be CD12 for me goodluck which is actually consistent with when I usually ovulate. And yes, other than low AMH (which she said shouldn't affect natural conception), we're unexplained. The most helpful diagnosis!

Nigeltufnellover · 28/06/2017 11:48

Pyjamas that all sounds great! Fingers crossed.
Sorry you're feeling a bit rubbish today Hopes, have you got an easy day you can just chill?
Had my second monitoring scan, still got a sh*tload of follicles. Just hope they mature ok and that quality matches quantity. Feel like I'm carrying around bags of stones in my belly. Urgh.

Hopes2bmom · 28/06/2017 12:42

Ladies I'm feeling so down and disappointed, got a call from embryologist, out of 20 eggs only 14 were matured and only 6 fertilised so it's less than 50 percent😒 I kee the fertilisation will be low as my dh has severe mfi. But the fertility count is very low and in addition it's not gonna be fresh transfer and it will be fet. Feeling very low. Just hoping that we have something to freeze for our fet

Best wishes to all of you.

Hobbes39 · 28/06/2017 13:16

Hi Hopes - sorry you are feeling a bit down about it all, but honestly things are still looking really good, so try to be kind to yourself. I know how it feels when the numbers don't go how you hope - our first time we only got 5 eggs and only 2 of those fertilised properly despite having no known issues... so it was hard going.
The great news for you is that you have 6 still in the running, which is a really good number. Fingers crossed most of them carry on developing and then you'll have a good number to freeze. In terms of the freezing, some places (abroad mostly) ONLY do freeze all fresh cycles as they believe there is evidence to show FET is slightly more successful - so it could be a really good thing that you have time for your body to be totally ready. I think it varies from person to person and clinic to clinic but I think once your body gets back into its rhythm you'll be good to go. I am acutely aware of time slipping by (I'm 40) so I totally understand your frustration at the delay, but it will fly by and could be of benefit. Will be keeping fingers crossed for next few days for you xx

Pyjamas81 · 28/06/2017 13:50

Oh I'm so sorry hopes - no wonder you're feeling down. That's still a great number though and remember it's quality not quantity. I was told today they expect to get 6-7 eggs, so that's what I'm working with even before fertilisation comes into the equation. Really hope you feel brighter soon 💐

Hopes2bmom · 28/06/2017 18:05

Thank you ladies, your words of hope makes me feel better, I am just praying and praying for those 6 embryos, I feel they are out future babies. Lots of love to you all!

Pyjamas81 · 28/06/2017 20:21

Fx for you hopes!
