Welcome Alice I’m so sorry for your loss. This is a lovely supportive group with lots of advice and support and a lot of the time a place to have a rant!!

SLady I decided this month I needed to put myself out of the misery of wondering!! Up until then I’d always thought the disappointment of a negative test was worse. This month I couldn’t handle the not knowing! I really hope you are 🤞 are you testing in the morning?

SLady · 06/12/2017 22:40

Doing a test and seeing a BFN is so depressing but then if I'm going to start thinking about it 24/7 then I should just get it over with. I'd been doing ok up until today though. I didn't get a chance to pick up a test today but I will tomorrow. How long was your cycle this month sunny? Thank you for the 🤞 I really hope so too!

Sunny1984 · 06/12/2017 22:51

It would be amazing if you are ☺️
It was 32 days but pretty sure it’s the progesterone that delayed it by 4 days! That’s why I tested when I was due this month as I didn’t want to get my hopes up again!

Will you test tomorrow when you get one or wait until Friday?

Alicejj8x · 07/12/2017 09:46

Thank you ladies :)

HollyWollyDooDah · 07/12/2017 10:00

I jinxed myself
Been quite poorly this week and feel horrendous still with nausea and headaches
Predicted ovulation over the weekend just gone so dtd lots (yey)
Stupidly said to my other half yesterday morning that maybe I was ill as I was pregnant (obviously this would not be possible unless I'd ovulated earlier than predicted)
Af arrived yesterday afternoon Hmm
So that makes a cycle of 22 days
At least my bloods will get over and done with earlier than planned.

Is Amazon the best place to buy inofolic? Also my consultant has asked my gp to prescribe me 5mg of folic acid to take - I'm assuming I shouldn't take both? So do I buy the myo inositol?

SLady · 07/12/2017 10:35

Oh ok I was going to say I thought it was a bit longer this time for you sunny even though you ovulated earlier and like you I don't want to get my hopes up if AF is a bit delayed for me and I'm sure all the anticipation could delay it a bit too?! I'll prob wait for FMU as I'll only tell myself it might not be accurate otherwise! Did you decide to stay on 100mg?

SLady · 07/12/2017 10:36

Do they know why your cycles are so short holly? That's like the opposite problem to me. Mine were ranging up to 80 days!!

You can take folic acid with everything and it's the myo inositol you need. I think cheapest place would be Amazon

Sunny1984 · 07/12/2017 10:52

SLady if still no AF sounds like you are in with a good chance ☺️. I know what you mean you want to make sure you do it at the right to believe it!!
I went for 150mg, I decided if I it didn’t Work again this cycle I would I always wonder if taking the 150mg like advised would have changed anything! Probably mental thought process but I thought I should just try!

Alicejj8x · 07/12/2017 10:59

Just a quick question was googling which I prob shouldn't of done and scared myself into think I don't ovulate at all?..

If you don't ovulate what is the options they do is it Clomid and them sort of tablets?..

One of the people in this fb group said her doctors told her she won't ovulate and won't be ever able to have kids?..

If I have pcos and have for pregnant before but ended in MMC is the chances I am ovulating high? Even if I don't have a period every month it's every 3 months?

SLady · 07/12/2017 11:31

Yes you might as well sunny don't want to ever have any regrets or what ifs. Fingers crossed the 150mg does the trick!! If I was 20mm first thing in the morning on CD13 then if I ovulated when do you think that would have been? Could have ovulated CD14 - CD16? Who knows. So AF might not even be due yet?! Arghhh

Alice try not to worry. Clomid is given to try and make your body ovulate when it doesn't do it on its own or doesn't do it regularly. If your periods are every 3 months then it's likely you don't ovulate as well as you should be so the Clomid will help with that. There are 3 different doses to try and if it still doesn't help you to ovulate then there are other drugs they can try to induce ovulation like injectables. Try not to work yourself up over it as stress only makes things worse!

Alicejj8x · 07/12/2017 14:39

Thank you!
I am on metformin as of Friday for 3 months and then will be put on Clomid also

AmyL88 · 07/12/2017 15:12

@SLady i was never told how big my folli's were...only that they were a good size. Its hard to know as you havent had another scan which showed ovulation happened. You can't be far off timings though...worth testing or not?

SLady · 07/12/2017 15:40

Yeah I think everyone is different too Amy. I'm CD30 today so would probably get an accurate result either way

SoapyChoc · 07/12/2017 18:19

Hi everyone. Just checking in. We're all still plodding along. Hope someone gets a BFP soon. Welcome to the new joiners.

I'm interested in all the chatter regarding Metformin/Inofolic. I came on here earlier in the week and felt a sense of panic about Metformin now being thought to not be very useful. I'm feeling more ok about it now. I figure it's something I can ask about at my next appt. My cycles have gone from 9 weeks to just over 4 weeks so it's having some effect on me but if Inofolic might be better I'd like to switch.

Mentally I'm finding things tough at the moment and I don't really know what I can do to help myself. There seems to be pregnant women everywhere and sometimes it makes me feel on edge. I think it's the not knowing that makes it harder sometimes. As in when/if it'll happen for us. Does anyone else feel the same?

KayleyOvs1 · 07/12/2017 19:02

Hi SoapyChoc,

I'm afraid I'm not able to give you any advice on inofolic as I've never used it but I'm currently on a tablet which induces my period (due to having very irregular cycle)

I completely understand how you feel around everyone being pregnant. Please don't lose hope as our day will come and there's so much doctors can do nowadays to help. Keep positive and strong, this forum is so good for inspiration.

I'm currently suffering from PCOS and low ovulation count, I'm about to start by 3rd round of clomid.
First round was 50mg and didn't ovulate at all so my dosage was increase to 100mg in November and I FINALLY ovulated more than I and my doctor expected so currently waiting for AF to come (but I hope it doesn't) to start my 3rd round.

Wishing you all the best xx

Alicejj8x · 07/12/2017 19:23

I am
Also being
Put on metformin Friday again I have heard slot of stories about it not being good or giving really bad side effects but I've also heard lots about it helping periods and regulating
Them and also people have got
Pregnant on them so defo our
Time
Will come we've all waited so so long for this. I know how you feel around pregnant people as I do feel the same!! But I promise our time will come x

LG93 · 07/12/2017 19:30

@SoapyChoc I can sympathise re everyone being pregnant... one family member had her baby 2 weeks ago and another is due in a couple of weeks.

I think it may have been my post about my gp saying metformin isn’t as great as previously thought that may have worried you and I’m really sorry - it wasn’t my intention but was more rambling as like you was a bit thrown when my gp mentioned it!! That said, like you there’s been improvement in some lots of my symptoms (skin, weight, cycle length etc) and so I don’t think it does nothing, just as an ovulation inducer maybe it’s not as effective. As I’m seeing some benefits my gp wanted me to keep taking the metformin, but was happy for me to take inositol along side it so maybe when you go to your next appt ask if they think that could work for you too? My gp is a fertility specialist and was at a conference discussing inofolic the week before I saw her and she didn’t seem to think it had to be metformin OR inofolic so I’m trying both

SoapyChoc · 07/12/2017 20:26

Thanks for the messages and positive comments. I think I just needed to be able to say how I'm feeling to people that get it. It's a bit of a lonely road isn't it?
LG no need to be sorry I think I'm feeling a bit over anxious and not myself at the moment. It's good to know about these other things. I think I'll do a bit of research in to Inofolic at some point soon with a view to maybe adding it in. A but of research may help me feel more in control too.

Best of luck starting Metformin Alice

Glad to hear Clomid is effwctive for you Kayley how have you found it?

KayleyOvs1 · 07/12/2017 21:43

SoapyChoc, ive found it ok, I've deffinatly had more side effects with the higher dosage like bloating, headaches and tender breasts, my breasts have been tender for about three weeks now, but it's showing that's somethings working☺️

Have you tried Clomid at all?

SoapyChoc · 07/12/2017 21:59

I have Clomid but been advised to lose a little more weight before starting it. Glad you have signs it's working. Hope the side effects aren't too debilitating.

shortgreengiraffe · 07/12/2017 23:12

In case it's helpful to anyone I bought some inositol capsules from Amazon. I'm not great with drinking powdery water. Anyway it says to take 4 a day(!) but I am going with it. A month sy

shortgreengiraffe · 07/12/2017 23:15

...supply was £18 which seems steep but I wanted to start something before Clomid hopefully next month. I've given up on expensive OPKs so justifying it to myself that way.

Only been taking them a week. Realised yesterday that I've been less hungry this week but assuming that's just coincidence.

I do ovulate with some regularity but decided against questioning this with the Dr as I am willing to give anything a try.

SLady · 08/12/2017 10:42

AF has arrived. I'm out Sad

Sunny1984 · 08/12/2017 11:33

SLady I’m so sorry sending virtual hugs and Flowers xxx

I think the max number of posts is 1000 so we will need a new thread! I have no idea what I’m doing but will give it a go! It will be in infertility and will be along the lines of PCOS support thread 6 as a title!
Hope to see you all there!
