Just googled that Sunny I hadn't heard of it before. No issues with DH so think we could do every day. That sounds like a good idea, got my fingers crossed for you! I've never had a 2ww knowing I've ovulated so it's going to be different this month.

Hi Mol yes I am on Clomid. I had no response on 50mg or 100mg (I did two rounds of each) so I am now on my 5th round and first try of 150mg and looks like it's finally worked. I'm unmonitored but I asked if I could be scanned this cycle. It's all through the nhs. I already knew I had PCOS but gave it a year of trying and then had all the tests done and all the boxes ticked so I could start Clomid

SLady · 20/11/2017 15:29

Mol and I mean worked as in its induced ovulation. I know the end goal is getting a BFP but after 4 rounds of nothing, and every blood test coming back as less than 1, I am very excited about finally ovulating haha

AmyL88 · 20/11/2017 17:40

Woohooo @SLady amazing news on the folli! Make sure you get DTD!! Are you going to have the blood test too to check for ovulation?

I am on CD10 so coming up to my fertile window this weekend, i really hope this is our month!!!!

SLady · 20/11/2017 18:16

Haha oh I will amy I'm not going to miss this bad boy Grin Nope no blood test he said a follicle of that size will definitely ovulate but they want me to call them at the end of this cycle.
That's good, I hope so too. Lots of BD for you, me and sunny this month Star

Elly1685 · 20/11/2017 18:16

That's fantastic news slady I'm so pleased for you! I really hope it works for you I have everything crossed! And you too Amy!

I've had a good few healthy days which is my one thing I can do towards the whole TTc thing now! I've bought vitamins for me and DH that have good reviews so fingers crossed that will help when it comes to IVF in January

KayleyOvs1 · 20/11/2017 20:00

Hi,

I'm a new member......

I'm currently on Provera (helps to induce a period) and Clomid.

I've been off the pill for nearly 3 years and I started to realise something wasn't right as I wasn't having a period...... to cut a long story short I was diagnosed with low ovulation levels and PCSOs at the age of 22...... my body also doesn't produce natural periods, which explains why I'm on Provera.

I'm now on my 2nd round of Clomid to help me and my fiancé to conceive. I didn't ovulate on my first round of 50mg and now I'm on 100mg but I don't think that's helping me ovulate either.
It's so lovely hearing all of your good news 😊

Sprinkling baby dust to all of you out there ❤️

AmyL88 · 21/11/2017 08:16

@SLady Ahh brilliant! I have everything crossed for you this month!! Are you DTD every day or every other? I need to up the action this month, now i am back to my best Grin

@Elly1685 Good idea to get your body as healthy as you can in the run up to IVF...How exciting, January is really not that far away! How are you feeling about it?

@KayleyOvs1 Welcome to our lovely group. A few of us are in the same boat as you, no response to the 50 / 100 but then gone on to get a positive ovulation with the higher dose! Are you being monitored aswell?

SLady · 21/11/2017 09:58

Thank you Elly :) and good idea, you have a couple of months to get your mind/body tip top shape ready for IVF. You got this!

Thanks Amy :) hmm I think might do every other-ish. So we DTD last night so maybe DTD tomorrow morning and then Thursday night. So it's like a day and a half? Is that right? Am I overthinking it...YES! I just need to chill. I read up on it a bit last night and everywhere says every other day is enough but to me it seems like a long time in between! What are you planning to do?

Welcome to the thread Kayley such a supportive bunch on here. I have been on this thread since feb/March time and I can only remember one person where 50mg has worked. It's not uncommon to need a higher dose but I know it's frustrating a disheartening when it doesn't work. Where abouts in your cycle are you now?

Hopeislost · 21/11/2017 13:56

Hello all!

I'm 34, been TTC for 6 months. Diagnosed with PCOS at 23 and been on Metformin since then. Over that period, I dropped my BMI from 32 to 25. I came off the pill 6 months ago and surprisingly have been having regular periods of 30-32 days and BBT says I'm ovulating each month.

Am currently 7dpo, just waiting for AF to arrive and then will make a GP appointment to discuss a referral.

Will they still start with Clomid even if I seem to be ovulating?

KayleyOvs1 · 21/11/2017 14:02

Hi SLady,

I took my last clomid Tablet last Monday, I didn't have any signs of ovulation the first time round on 50mg but today I woke up and had a lot of mucus. I took an Ovulation test yesterday which was negative but should I take one today? Xx

SLady · 21/11/2017 14:23

Hi Hopeislost that's good you are having regular periods. As part of the referral process you will have a blood test (7 days before your expected period) which will confirm whether or not you do ovulate, they will also check your partner's sperm. It might just be the metformin regulating your periods. 6 months isn't too long might happen for you yet, good to get the ball rolling though as these things do take a while and hopefully the tests will confirm more about what's going on

I don't use them myself kayley but I think you're meant to use them every day to catch the LH surge. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on them, just make sure you DTD every other day from CD9 and then you know you're covered :)

Mol5 · 21/11/2017 14:44

Hi ladies,

CD30 for me today of Cycle #19. I usually have 28 day cycles but by this point I don’t even bat an eyelid at being 2 weeks late! #PCOSLIFE Grin Envy

This month I personally upped my metformin to 2x500mg. No side effects. I just changed GP and have left over stock from my old prescription, my new GP is relatively useless and as it’s a new area they would like me to start bloods etc all over again to do their own investigations.

A very faint OPK line on CD26( wtf!?) - I tested randomly because I was having some mucus.

However I’ve never really had a positive OPK and I haven’t been doing OPKs for several months as my lack of ovulation was getting a bit dire!

Did anyone have ovulation improvement & BFP on metformin alone? Ahhhh sigh X

Mol5 · 21/11/2017 14:47

Also - question (still new myself) - does anyone run or know of a real life group from this forum? As in - chatting in person.
If not already, is that something that is done often from here?
This forum is lovely and so helpful but I’d love if there were some likeminded people to talk to over a coffee (--large vino-) x

SLady · 22/11/2017 14:55

Can't really help with metformin Mol as I've never been on it. We haven't organised one before, I think everyone is from all over. What county do you live in?

Sunny/Amy do either of you get ovulation symptoms on cycles where you know you've ovulated. Like pain or EWCM etc? I haven't had any symptoms whatsoever and can't believe ovulation is actually going to happen! Wish I was having a blood test Angry

Sunny1984 · 22/11/2017 15:38

Meeting in real life would be great but I think we are all over the place 😕
Where does everyone live?

SLady this month was the first time I’ve really had any pain! One month I had EWCM but that’s about it to be honest! I had a month I was positive I hadn’t but my bloods showed I did! Will they scan again to see if it popped? How’s the shagathon been going?!!

SLady · 22/11/2017 22:47

Sunny oh okay so I shouldn't worry too much. I thought I might feel different! No they're not Sad Angry but I'm going to push for one next cycle. Haha that made me laugh - we're going strong 💪😂 shagging and hoping for the best! Lol

AmyL88 · 23/11/2017 11:15

@SLady I noticed alot more EWCM when i had my positive ovulation but only on the days running up to it. No pain or anything though.

I am CD13 so going to crank up the action now until next week...oh the romance!!

I am based in the West Midlands, where is everyone else?

SLady · 23/11/2017 11:39

Amy I've had EWCM on the months I didn't ovulate and nothing this month when I've got a 20mm follicle! So confusing! The only thing that's been consistent is the bloating around ovulation time and before AFs due. Serious bloat!!

Haha I know, mood killer. We've got used to it now I think. Eeks get DTD! CD16 for me today.

I am on the Suffolk/Essex border

shortgreengiraffe · 23/11/2017 18:06

Hello. I know this thread is nearing completion but hoping I can join in. Been TTC (#1) for 2 years now. Finally had an appointment today and been told I have PCOS and will be prescribed clomid.

I feel like things are moving in the right direction but a bit confused as i do have periods. Usually 36 day cycles but occasionally very long. I get positive OPK tests and EWCM 14 days before period (usually) a blood test showed I had ovulated. If clomid is supposed to induce ovulation, will it help me?

Thanks in advance for any advice which anyone can offer. Stupidly I didn't think to ask the Dr.

ElizabethCatherine · 23/11/2017 22:16

Hi ladies!!! Sorry I have been MIA on here just catching up! Ive been on another thread for ivf and started a separate Instagram and can’t even keep up with those but I am trying to! And sometimes I just take a break from looking at everything cuz I it gets overwhelming always thinking about it as you all know! But it’s nice to be able to do that when you need to.

So much happening on this thread atm and good news @SLady + @AmyL88 with the clomid finally doing what it’s supposed to! So happy!!

@Elly1685 Keep in touch about ivf :) Mine was in Sept/October but now having my transfer in December :)

If anyone wants to add my new account on instagram is healthycatcan it has been amazing to connect with so many people going through ivf, taking clomid, ttc etc! Learn so much on there as I have on here too! But it’s nice to connect on a different platform that seems more personal :) @Mol5 I am in London and for anyone that is interested I will be planning a meet up in London with some ladies and everyone on here is totally invited too :) so nice to connect with people who actually understand, I feel like we are all automatically friends hehe!

And WELCOME to all the newbies!! SmileFlowers@shortgreengiraffe that seems odd they would prescribe clomid because yes it helps you ovulate! Strange I would def question his reasoning for it

OP posts:
shortgreengiraffe · 23/11/2017 22:42

Thanks, I'll ask the GP when they prescribe it. Obviously I'm willing to try anything but would rather avoid 6 months trecking down the wrong path.

Mol5 · 24/11/2017 09:13

elizabeth, short amy slady Hey all! I am in Bedfordshire and work in London. A London meet up would be brilliant Elizabeth I’ll message you on Instagram! Have a great weekend shagathlon to all Grin xx

SLady · 24/11/2017 09:29

Good to hear from you Elizabethcatherine Smile so pleased you are on the mend and so exciting that your transfer is in December. I would be up for a London meet up so definitely let us all know when you organise it for! I agree, it's so nice to chat with women all going through the same thing as it can be very lonely at times. Will check out your new Instagram too

shortgreengiraffe it is a bit strange to prescribe Clomid if you are already ovulating. Perhaps they want to make sure it's regular every month or bring you in line with a 28 day cycle. I would def question it though as you dont want to just be put on Clomid as that's the done thing with pcos ladies if you don't really need it. Has your DH sperm been checked? Have you had a hycosy?

ElizabethCatherine · 24/11/2017 09:37

Yay so glad 2 of you are in! it’s going to be in the new year I was thinking Sunday jan 14 or saturday or Sunday jan 20th or 21. Would any of those days work for you ladies? Was thinking a lunch somewhere haven’t given it too much thought yet so suggestions are always welcome :)
