Morning, how’s everyone doing?

Thank you SLady and AmyL I just feel like a moany negative bitch at the minute which isn’t normal for me!! How are you both getting on? Did AF come SLady? Do you think you ovulated this month AmyL?

So sorry to hear you are feeling so low Holly, I would go and speak to your GP as I know that there are definitely some medications that are much safer in pregnancy than others so I would think they would try those while ttc.

I’m feeling like utter shit this morning! I’ve got a grotty cold and I’m late like 4 days late!! I’d stupidly let myself think that there might be a glimmer of hope something was finally going to happen but I’ve tested this morning and it’s negative 😢 so now I’m pretty convinced the extra progesterone I’m taking is keeping Af away or I didn’t even ovulate!! Urgh so fed up with this stupid ttc business!!!

AmyL88 · 30/10/2017 11:17

@Sunny1984 Here here to feeling like shit!! I've gone from tonsillitis to a cold, then was up 3 hours last night with sickness!!! EUGH!! Sorry it was a BFN, It's horrible when you get your hopes up!

I was so mad at OH last week, I had a really strong positive OPK on CD18 but as i have a face full of cold sores still we didn't even DTD!! Only managed to dtd on CD16 during my fertile window so i have zero hope for this cycle :-( I need to focus on getting well and draw a line under this cycle!!! Why do we beat ourselves up so much? I am also surrounded by gorgeous squishy newborns, 2 friends have given birth in the 10 days!!

@Elly1685 I have no experience sorry but that doesn't sound too good. Have you been checked out? How you feeling now?

@Holly Go easy on yourself Flowers

Elly1685 · 30/10/2017 11:24

Oh dear amy and sunny sounds like you're both having a rough time at the moment.

I'm feeling a bit better thanks but only because I'm on quite strong painkillers which are making me feel fuzzy and horrible! I went to a&e at 5am yesterday as the pain was unbearable and I was so worried. After blood tests, urine test and a 5 hour wait for a sonographer to come in to scan me , the doctor spoke to the fertility clinic where I'm receiving treatment and they decided I didn't need a scan and that it was 'just mild ovulation pain' Angry there was nothing mild about it in my opinion. So now my DH thinks I was moaning for no reason and 'other women do it so why did I make such a fuss' but it's been going on since last Thursday and it's so painful in my side and lower back, I just can't understand why it's hurting so much and lasting so long? X

Elly1685 · 30/10/2017 11:33

Oh and because I did a trigger shot and have had this pain for 5 days and not really sure about my cm I've got no way of telling when (or if) I have ovulated so what do you suggest I do now? Wait two weeks from today and then test? I know lots of people wait for af but I've never ever had a natural cycle so I wouldn't even know when I'm due :(

ElizabethCatherine · 30/10/2017 12:17

@Elly1685 you poor thing. There is nothing “mild” about this and I was told that so many times like “oh maybe you have a tummy bug” etc and I was the same I ended up in A&E and all sorts and was not mild, we know our pain who is someone to tell us otherwise. I think things really took off with the pain once I had the trigger shot too (but also egg collection). Do you have any abdomen swelling/bloat?

Hi guys thank you for your kind words
Feel better although grumpy because my oh came home on Friday after two weeks away - brilliant a weekend of dtd because I should be ovulating however none got done because he was too tired. And now he's away again until end of the week when my fertile window finishes tomorrow 🙄

Elly1685 · 31/10/2017 09:05

No, no other symptoms apart from the pain - which i still have :( I just hope it stops soon as it's been almost a week! It's so frustrating that I can't pinpoint ovulation day or even if I have ovulated!
Oh no holly did you tell him you could be ovulating? That's so frustrating

HollyWollyDooDah · 31/10/2017 09:16

Yes :(
I think maybe we should stop trying so hard
Have our fertility appt at the beginning of Dec so maybe we should just stop and get back into a natural rhythm?

HollyWollyDooDah · 31/10/2017 10:02

Am cd15 and got blood stained cm - any thoughts - no possible chance of pregnancy

AmyL88 · 02/11/2017 15:18

How is everyone? Did AF show up @Holly?

HollyWollyDooDah · 02/11/2017 19:25

I've had some old blood and a couple of small clots but nothing amazing..... what could it be?

Elly1685 · 02/11/2017 20:09

No idea holly sorry - that's the periods that I get normally Just old blood and my consultant said it's because I don't ovulate but I'm sure that's not the case with you? I know what you mean about the pressure to dtd - my husband and I have decided to have a few months off If this cycle doesn't work, we need a break.

I do however need one of you ladies to come and slap some sense into me. I'm 7dpo and symptom spotting like mad which is ridiculous as it's far too early. My nipples are so sore and seem much darker. Anything that touches them hurts, and I've had so much white cm in the last two days. I just need to stop. I'm obviously getting these things because of the amount of hormones I've had injected into me, nothing else! In other news, my lower abdominal pain and lower back pain as really subsided and now I don't need to take painkillers - yay! It's been a whole week of pain so I'm really glad it's gone.

How are you all tonight? Any plans for bonfire weekend? Xx

HollyWollyDooDah · 04/11/2017 15:24

So nothing else, dtd last night and woke up this morning to pink cm
Nothing rest of the day

I don't ovulate, or I should say the last couple of bloods indicate I'm not ovulating

Appointment for fertility in December so probably just going to stop trying until then x

SLady · 06/11/2017 17:49

Hello Ladies. Sorry I have been quiet. Was taking a little break from everything TTC. My low progesterone on 100mg upset me more than I thought. I feel like I've kind of given up with Clomid now. CD40 and I've still not taken my norethisterone yet, can't be bothered with it anymore really! I have a consultant appointment on Wednesday I'm not really sure why, it was booked ages ago. I think it's just protocol as we said everything we needed to say on the phone. Hopefully we can discuss the metformin a bit more though

Anyway just checking in. Hope everyone is ok x

SoapyChoc · 06/11/2017 19:21

Hi all. Sorry you are feeling low holly and SLady it can be so hard to just keep on keeping on at times.

I really think Metformin is working well for me. I hope you can start it SLady and it has a good effect.

Elly1685 · 06/11/2017 20:21

Sorry everyone is feeling rubbish:(

I think you need to look into metformin SLady.
So today I'm 12DPO and I tested BFN. I'm devastated really. As that's my one and only chance until Ivf at some point next year. I know 12DPO is still early but I just don't think it's worked x

SLady · 07/11/2017 22:57

Thanks ladies Soapychoc Elly. I'm going to discuss it tomorrow. AF arrived today !! which is good news so I can start my 150mg Clomid this week. If no ovulation I want to start the metformin. I think ill take a break over Xmas and new year and start round 6 in the new year hopefully getting used to the metformin by then.

Oh no Ellie Sad how comes this is your last chance before ivf? Can't you try a couple of goes on the injections? Do you know if you definitely ovulated this month?

SLady · 08/11/2017 09:43

Seen my consultant this morning. I'm going to have a tracking scan on CD10 and see how I'm responding on the 150mg. He said he will prescribe me metformin if i want it but in his opinion he wouldn't bother trying that with Clomid given my weight and he would recommend that I have my tubes flushed and then start on injections right away and give up with Clomid rather than messing around with that and metformin. Interesting as I know so many ladies have had success with it. I think ill see how the 150mg goes first and then make a decision

AmyL88 · 08/11/2017 10:18

@SLady Sorry you are having a shit time! Consultant app sounds good though...I would try the 150mg and then make a decision like you said.

AF is due tomorrow for me, no symptoms at all so not feeling hopeful. :-(

@Elly have you tested again?

Sunny1984 · 08/11/2017 10:31

Sorry it sounds like everyone is still having a shit time. Why is it so bloody hard?!!!

SLady, that sounds positive that they will scan. In regards to the metformin, I went to the fertility show at the weekend and I listened to a lead consultant from Leeds about PCOS and he said there is very limited evidence that metformin has any positive results who are not overweight or have a high risk of developing diabetes. I’m debating stopping mine. It might be worth having your tubes checked after the 1st round of 150mg.

I’m on CD 8, I brought a OvuSense monitor at the show so going o give that a whirl this month!! I can only have one more lot of Clomid. Don’t think my trust offers injections so I’m getting a referral to a different consultant in London.

Do you feel like AF is coming AmyL?

SLady · 08/11/2017 10:31

Yes fingers crossed the 150mg works. I've had two natural AFs now on the 100mg so even though I'm not ovulating it seems to be improving things so I'm hoping the 150mg will give me the boost I need. I said i didn't want to do the drilling due to the side effects and he has had positive results with it but it's not for me personally so we're going to skip that step which is good.

Fingers crossed this month for you amy I know you didn't get to DTD as much this month did you? How's your coldsores? I got another this week! It's this weather (And stress)!!! When will you test?

AmyL88 · 08/11/2017 10:51

The natural AF's are good @SLady, that's how i am looking at it aswell. I could go 8 weeks with no AF so the fact i have 'normal' cycles now is amazing!

No AF symptoms but it normally strikes through the night. If it still hasnt arrived by the weekend i will test. I have actually resisted this cycle which is a miracle for me as i am usually a POAS addict!! Yes you are right @SLady didnt manage to DTD much , think that's why I know not to get my hopes up!

@Sunny Interesting about the metformin, I am classed as overweight (Need to lose 1.5 stone) but they haven't mentioned metformin to me...wonder if i should bring it up at my next appt. Is it prescribed by the GP or Consultant?
I have heard some positive reviews of the Ovusense so FX for you!! Do you know what the next step is after clomid? My hospital will only prescribe it to me until Jan and I am already getting twitchy about what's next!!

AmyL88 · 08/11/2017 10:52

@Slady forgot to say cold sores have only just cleared up...over 2 weeks i've had them :-(( It deffo is stress related! OH has no excuse this month now Wink

SLady · 08/11/2017 11:28

Sorry sunny didn't see your reply. That's really interesting, that's exactly what my doctor said. He said if I was overweight then he would put me on it but otherwise he doesn't think it would be much benefit. Although he did say there have been studies which show you can have insulin resistance being slim. I can have another 3 rounds of clomid with metformin (after round 6) but I'm thinking twice about it now, he hardly ever gives an opinion so he must feel strongly about it. That's a shame they don't offer them. Perhaps you can ask for more Clomid if youre responding well, you just might need more time. Can you ask to go up to 9 rounds?

Got my fingers crossed for you amy! I use the patches when I can on my coldsores and they heal so much faster! Hoping mine will be gone by next week

Sunny1984 · 08/11/2017 11:35

No worries! Think we cross posted!

They may give me another 2 months but he wasn’t keen and after talking to different DRs at the weeks I think I’d prefer to try injections after this and the next round. I’m hoping it’s just a bit more time needed, I’ve only been in with a chance for 3 months so that would be no time in the normal realms of TTC!

Do you think you’d take a break over Xmas? I’m really tempted to as it’s just getting me really down Confused
