Sorry you're having a hard time Holly hopefully the antibiotics will help Flowers

I'm CD17 today and my bloating is off the scale!! Yesterday I was actually really uncomfortable in my work dress. I do usually get bloating but normally it's only this bad for a couple of days before AF. I've also not had a positive opk which has made me feel disheartened. Don't think I'll use them again after this cycle.

Sunny did you ovulate this month

Elizabethcatherine are you out of hospital yet? Hope you're on the mend

Hope everyone is getting on ok

clared55 · 14/10/2017 11:05

Hope you're getting on ok Elizabethcatherine. Got all my fingers crossed for you. And hope the antibiotics start doing their job and you feel better soon HollyWollyDoohDah.

I'm 31 TTC #1 for nearly a year and a half. Was diagnosed with PCOS in May and have been on Metformin since then.

It's nearly 10 weeks since my last period and I have no idea if / when I ovulate! Have had one possible OPK in my last cycle (though I now doubt whether it was as it was on around CD14 and I had a 70 day cycle that month! Do any of you still have really long cycles and if so what have you found works for working out when you ovulate?

The last couple of weeks have been tough - with two unexpected baby bombs from close friends, one friend who had a baby and one who's due imminently. Just makes it very hard to not think about things pretty much constantly!

clared55 · 14/10/2017 11:05

Bloody autocorrect - should have said positive not possible OPK*

Sunny1984 · 14/10/2017 11:50

Sorry I've been rubbish this week! Had such a mental few days and I've been dealing with a very testing couple of friends 😤!! I won't rant about that now though!!

Good idea reintroducing,
I'm Sunny, 33 (soon be 34 eek!!) TTC #1 since May 16, so about 17months!
Properly diagnosed in January with PCOS, been on Metformin since. Only periods have been provera or Clomid induced since stopping my pill!
In TWW of round 4 Clomid 3 round of 100mg!

I'm sorry ElizabethCatherine it sounds like you have had the most awful time Flowers I hope you are home now and being well looked after. Great you have 2 embies ready when you are.

Hopefully the antibiotics help Holly
*
SLady,* well I had another scan on Thursday which was day 17 and my lining looked thick and lush apparently so I think the progesterone is helping although sticking them up my bum on lady bits twice a day is not much fun!! I had a follicle that was 21.3mm apparently that's great and looked ready to pop!! So hoping I Ovd on Thursday night! I used OPKs again this month had a positive on day 15 morning but there was no way I ovd until Thursday night at the earliest so I'm not sure how accurate they really are!! Have you been DTD EOD?

How's everyone else, sorry for the very long message!!!

SLady · 14/10/2017 16:16

Hi Clared if you aren't having regular periods it's too difficult to track ovulation I think. I got up to 70 odd day cycles too. I think the best thing to do is push for a referral to a fertility clinic to start Clomid. Baby bombs are the absolute worst, mine are getting worse as time goes on!

That's excellent Sunny you're in with a shot this month then! FX!! That makes me feel better cos I'm CD17 today and I don't think I've ovulated yet...so might still happen! Also makes me feel better about the opk obv being rubbish. I'll try not to take too much notice. They've definitely put me in a worse frame of mind this month. Yes been DTD EOD since CD11 this month, gonna carry on doing that until I get my blood test results. Will you get a blood test this month? Have you been EOD too?

clared55 · 14/10/2017 19:20

Thanks @SLady - have my next hospital appointment due in February but might see what I can do to get that brought forward. A relief to know you're clearly in a better place now having been in a similar situation to me. Fingers crossed you ovulate soon!

@Sunny1984 that sounds really promising! Out of interest how many months after starting on Metformin did you go on to Clomid?

ConfusionIsNothingNew · 14/10/2017 20:53

Sorry to hear so many of us are going through a hard time at the minute, fingers crossed everyone’s week improves! X

Nothing to report here, good old long cycles keeping me second guessing Angry

IceCreamIceCream · 15/10/2017 22:33

I have posted here a few months ago and am have been following along on this thread but not posting for the last few months, mainly because I couldn’t bear to contribute as I felt so low.

Just wanted to update to say that although I have known severe PCOS, I finally got a BFP after two years of soul destroying trying. Obviously very early days but fingers crossed as we were just in the beginning stages of considering fertility treatment.

I’ve been taking metformin for the last two months and also have started accupuncture in the last cycle which are the only things different this time!

Just wanted to update as I loved reading about some of your successes when I felt low.

SoapyChoc · 16/10/2017 14:42

Congratulations IceCream I bet you couldn't believe it. Smile

Are you feeling any better now Holly?

Sunny it is sounding very positive for ovulating this month then. Fingers crossed.

I did let my hair down a lot at the party at the weekend in the end and had several drinks. We had a great time and then yesterday morning when we were getting ready to go home from the hotel we had quite a few laughs and jokey moments. I think a fun night was just what we needed. My husbands colleague who we sometimes socialise with is very open about her fertility issues and we had a chat and it was so nice to find someone in person who just gets it.

SLady · 16/10/2017 19:43

Congratulations icecream that's brilliant news! Looks like the metformin did the trick!!

clared hope the metformin sorts out your cycles soon. Have you had any bad side effects from it? I think it's main job is to regulate insulin levels but that in turn that can have a positive effect on ovulation. The Clomid specifically induces ovulation though so that's what I'd be pushing for especially as you've been ttc for a year and a half

Glad you had a good night soapychoc definitely good to let your hair down once in a while probably just what you needed :)

AmyL88 · 18/10/2017 18:11

Congrats @icecream we deffo need more news like that!

How is everyone? I am CD 10 today and sick as a dog. Have tonsillitis yet again so am on antibiotics, already ruling this month out and I haven't even ovulated yet!!

My good friend is being induced on Friday 2 weeks early so I've been helping her sort things out. Hit home today that I really though I would be pregnant myself by now. Blush

HollyWollyDooDah · 18/10/2017 21:22

Well I dipped my urine today (perks of working for the NHS) and there is no infection - good job I didn't take the antibiotics as they would've affected another condition I have
I'm still getting pain though - I sneezed earlier and I swear my ovaries popped it was so painful
Got our referral appointment today x

Littleonek · 20/10/2017 13:31

Has anyone else experienced this,

I was diagnosed with pcos a few months ago and had 15 folicles with cysts on each overy. Ive joined the gym and eatten better (lost 9 pounds now) and my periods are back to normal one time and last 7 days. Last month it was late and lasted 26 days!

Is yr period going back to normal a sign that my ovulation might also be back to normal or are they not related.

Im not on any medicine for pcos as im seeing a specialist in January (a loong wait on the nhs!)

SLady · 21/10/2017 00:07

Hi everyone

Amy how are you getting on, are you feeling any better? Tonsilitus is horrible! Don't rule yourself out just yet, keep positive. I'm feeling good vibes for you this month

Holly hope you're feeling a bit better now.

littleone I haven't experienced that, my cycles have never been normal, but losing weight is meant to have a big effect. It doesn't necessarily mean you're ovulating but regular periods is a good sign. Perhaps try some opks? Or ask your gp for a 21 day blood test.

Elizabethcatherine how are you? I hope you're out of hospital and on the mend

Sunny how you getting on this cycle?

I'm CD23, had my blood test this week and will hopefully get a call back on monday. Not feeling positive I don't even feel like I've ovulated this month. We shall see... If I'm below a 1 again though I don't know what I'll do Angry

ElizabethCatherine · 21/10/2017 07:52

Hi ladies. Some more news to report back, I had to take a break from my phone for a while I could only go on for 10 mins at a time because I’ve been not good. I am still in hospital. Monday was the worst day of my life. The pain became unbearable, it was the worst thing I have ever experienced in my entire life. I got worse while in hospital. I was to be monitored and had to continue with this drip that was to help bring the fluids back into my bloods stream and eventually put through urine. But mine started to accumulate so quickly the pressure was unbelievable and I couldn’t breath, open my eyes or speak. I had specialist teams come in and run tests on my heart from my bed and was given morphine (I’ve already been on pain killers 4x a day for the last 2 weeks) I was rushed to theatre and had to have a drain put in my abdomen and immediately 1.5L came pouring out which relieved most of the pressure. I had that in for 4 days and was draining 3L a day from it. The skin was frozen on the outside while he cut the opening but I felt the tube being puncture through my cavity lining that encases well my organs and it was not fun, fully awake and no anesthetic It was just removed yesterday and now I am being monitored to see how quickly the fluid accumulates back. Since I have been in here I have a 5/6 month bump from all of this fluid. It will last another month like this. I have seriously been through the worst case of OHSS. I even had a teaching doctor come see me yesterday now that I can speak to interview me for 30 minutes on everything I went through from symptoms to how it was handled so they know how to deal with these things if people come to AE with how bad mine was. The nurses on my IVF team said I was the first time that they have seen a drip need to be inserted. I seriously can’t believe what I have been through it blows my mind. I am hoping if the scans look clear and the fluid slows down I can go home on Monday. But once I get home I’ll have to be in recovery for 2 weeks at home. I walk like a 94 year old women and have to hold my belly as I walk. The doctors never had answers for me each day because they didn’t know how I was going to react I kept shocking them with how things were progressing so badly. No one could tell me how long I was going to be in here for I thought 2 days but it make a turn for the worst. They are shocked at why this has happened they said all my blood levels and tests were proving something different so they didn’t see this coming at all they said my case is off text book

@ElizabethCatherine OMG you poor soul!! I have never heard of anyone going through what you have been through!! I really don't know what to say Flowers

@SLady I am feeling pretty crap still, tonsillitis is under control but i now have a full blown cold too. CD13 for me and we havent even DTD this cycle yet as I have felt so shitty. After readying Elizabeth's post i really dont want to complain about having a cold!!!

Starting on the OPKS today to see if i get any kind of line, no EWCM yet this cycle so we shall see!

Oh FX for good bloods results. Are you on 100mg did you say? xx

SLady · 22/10/2017 17:24

I'm so sorry you've gone through that Elizabethcatherine. Sounds like you've had the most severe OHSS. You poor thing Sad I really hope things start to improve for you and you get better soon. Sending you lots of love Flowers

Fingers crossed you feel better soon Amy so you can get DTD ha. Yes on the 100mg which did give me AF last cycle but this is my first time having a blood test on the 100mg so we shall see. I don't feel confident as I have had zero symptoms this month! Also CD21 would have been too early based on last month's cycle length. I'm hoping my progesterone level has improved though

clared55 · 22/10/2017 19:49

Sorry for being quiet - I've been feeling a bit low as I was hoping that metformin was starting to get me a bit more regular but I'm on CD78 and counting (which is now longer than my previous cycle). Thanks for the advice on clomid @SLady as I think it looks like it's going to take more than metformin to sort me out!

Congrats @icecream - that does give us all hope!

And @Elizabethcatherine I hope things improve for you soon as it sounds like you're having a horrible time!

HollyWollyDooDah · 22/10/2017 22:38

Elizabethcatherine I'm sorry to read what you've been going through you poor lady.
I really hope that they get you up and running again and it doesn't take too long
Was it free fluid or fluid around an organ?

I'm feeling much better thanks guys although still having period type pains so not sure what that means? Knowing my luck it'll mean ovulation because my oh is away with work

ConfusionIsNothingNew · 23/10/2017 11:52

Congrats Icecream that’s amazing and lovely news!

You’ve really been through it this cycle CatherineElizabeth! Just concentrate on getting yourself better for the meantime.

I’m CD26 and getting period type pains, even though I apparently didn’t ovulate this cycle (had a scan an CD12). I don’t normally have a period when I haven’t ovulated, but this was my first Clomid cycle, so I’m wondering if that’s made a difference?

SLady · 23/10/2017 18:24

Clared I'm not an expert but if you haven't got insulin resistance I don't expect it would do anything?! If it continues not to work might be worth going back. You definitely have to push for things!

confusion how do you know you haven't ovulated this cycle?

Still chasing my FC for the results of my day21 blood test. They are so useless. And they're only open 4 hours a day 3 days a week, ridiculous! Bleerrghhhh I'm becoming resigned to the fact that this is just never going to happen, just seems impossible!!

ConfusionIsNothingNew · 23/10/2017 18:33

SLady I had a scan at 12 DPO which didn’t show any dominant follicles, so my doc said to forget about this cycle and double the Clomid dose once I get my next period.

Ive has this weird cramping for about 24 hours now so earlier I did a cheapy ov test and pregnancy test, to see if either could shed any light! The ov test was quite dark but not positive and the preg test has a faint hint of a tint, blink and you’ll miss it kinda line.

So need to wait and do another test in the morning!

HollyWollyDooDah · 23/10/2017 21:21

Fingers crossed for you confusionisnothingnew

I know it's important to keep positive but has anyone thought of what they'll do if pregnancy doesn't happen? X

SLady · 23/10/2017 22:51

Fingers crossed confusion. I'm sure sunny on this thread had something really similar this month and she did actually ovulate, just a bit later on. Let us know how you get on!

I'm willing signs/symptoms, even of AF. I'm on full on symptom spotting mode!!!

I try not to think about it too much holly but I think it's natural to go through stages of being positive and then feeling like you might as well give up!

ConfusionIsNothingNew · 24/10/2017 08:52

BFN this morning, must have been a due run or evap last night.

Oh well, onwards to another cycle!
