Amy I honestly have no idea! My CM changes so much over the month I don't know what it means in terms of my cycle!
I'm really looking forward to seeing the consultant gyno next week, gonna push for some answers. I'm on codeine at the mo to try and manage the pain. I finished my nortiserone last night so fingers crossed 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼it will bring AF on!!

HollyWollyDooDah · 27/07/2017 21:50

I have no idea re the pipette
Think I'm just going to do swan send and hope.
I'm not sure whether it's an NHS wide requirement or whether it's just the trusts requirements?
Unless it's just to rule out std affecting fertility
I don't know though, I'm 5 days late boobs are killing me but two negatives, had some pale rose pink thick mucous this morning but nothing since.
Wth can't I just be on my period or pregnant?! Honestly it can't be that hard right? Grin

SLady · 28/07/2017 10:34

Hey whenwillwe3meetagain how does that work as I thought that temping basically tells you ovulation took place i.e after youve ovulated as once you get the spike it's already happened...so it's good for seeing if there's a pattern and predicting it. But with me there's no pattern, that's the whole issue and why my periods are irregular. I don't see how temping could work for pcos???

AmyL88 I don't think it does unfortunately, from my experience. I had lots of EWCM my first cycle too and I didn't ovulate. This cycle I'm CD16 and I haven't had any yet waaahhh. So fed up. I don't think this cycle has worked either Sad I've had no symptoms of ovulation. Might start with the opks tonight. My pcos is so mild I was always so optimistic Clomid would work right away it's so disheartening!

AmyL88 · 28/07/2017 12:14

@SLady I feel the same as you, my consultant said he was confident i would fall pregnant with clomid as i have 'mild' pcos too. Are you being monitored now? (Sorry i cant remember if you said you were)

So today i did an opk and its pretty much positive...on CD 21!! Not sure what is going on. Will carry on DTD anyway and just see what happens.

SLady · 28/07/2017 13:09

No I'm not being monitored but I have a blood test on Wednesday to check if I ovulated on day 14 which Im pretty much sure I didnt. I'm just hoping I ovulate next week. Going to keep trying and hope for the best! My DH doesn't exactly like performing to a strict timetable either, does take the fun out of it Blush

This is your first round isnt it? That's great you've got a positive, it's totally possible you've ovulated today especially as you were getting EWCM in the days before. I think lots of people ovulate a bit later on clomid. Fingers crossed for you!! I think I'm going to start using OPKs tonight just to see!

Least your consultant is positive. It's so hard I guess it doesn't matter if it's mild or not you can't predict how the body will react to things Sad just need to adjust my expectations I think

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 29/07/2017 07:51

Hi SLady I'm not completely sure but I think because ovusense takes your temp every 5 mins it is more accurate and can build a picture of whether your temp rises are big enough to signal ovulation or just temp fluctuations. Once you have used it for a week or two it seems to get the hang of you and then it can predict ovulation a day before and then confirms once it's happened w 99% accuracy. The more info the ovusense gets the clearer the picture for the next ovulation etc. I didn't have great hopes as my cycles were getting longer all the time but the insight it gave me made me feel I was back in control of what my body was doing. If you decide to try it they often have discounts so do google codes.,

SLady · 29/07/2017 08:59

CD17 today, I'm going to start using OPKs today I think, just out of interest. First one definite negative! 👎

littleemma1 · 29/07/2017 09:25

Slady I've given up on OPK's. I got a distinct positive around 3/4 times in one month 🙄😔

SLady · 29/07/2017 10:01

Oh did you littleemma I have heard they can be useless/misleading. I've never used them before just thought I'd give them a go out of curiosity. Still going to carry on with DTD every other day anyway. Not that it'll be much use this cycle Hmm

littleemma1 · 29/07/2017 10:15

I think with out cycles and hormones they aren't accurate, but certainly give them a go and see what happens.
Slady when you come off nortiserone how long does it take for AF to arrive? I took my last dose on Wednesday night so thinking she should be here by tomorrow at the latest?

AmyL88 · 29/07/2017 12:42

I agree with OPK's being misleading, i took a second OPK last night and was negative, took one again this morning and a second strong line appeared (not as dark as control though) Arhhhh mind F**k!!

I like the sound of the ovusense but I would worry about becoming so fixated on the results, i am bad enough peeing on a OPK every few hours.

One downside of the clomid, I have had such bad acne appear. Anyone else notice this?

@SLady stay positive, you may ovulate later in this cycle so keep going x

littleemma1 · 29/07/2017 14:46

AmyL my skin has been so bad since coming off the pill, but I started taking zinc and vitamin E which have really helped! And I don't wear make up when I can get away with it, which again has helped massively improve it x

SLady · 29/07/2017 15:04

Thanks amy trying to stay positive and happy! That sounds so confusing with the opks, total mind F. I think Clomid might have had a better impact on my skin. Like littleemma my skin has been awful since coming off the pill but I cut out dairy and I can't tell you the difference it's made (either that or the clomid) I hardly have any breakouts at all now. I noticed results pretty much straight away with cutting out milk so maybe give it a go. Might try the zinc too x

SLady · 29/07/2017 15:21

And I do have cheese sometimes and full fat Greek yoghurt but I've cut out milk completely and it's made such a massive difference!

littleemma1 · 31/07/2017 19:13

Well ladies AF finally arrived after 96 days today and the help of nortiserone! So I'm just now waiting to see the gyno on Thursday!! Xx

SoapyChoc · 01/08/2017 10:23

Hi all,

Can I join? I've just read the whole thread. TTC for 22months so far, for years there was debate about whether I have PCOS, saw an endocrinologist earlier this year as my prolactin was high on the initial fertility blood tests, endocrinlogist said definitely don't have PCOS as needed 2 out of 3 things and only had one. Prolactin was back to normal so discharged from them. Went to fertility clinic earlier this year and was told to lose weight and come back in a few months with a view to starting Clomid. I had my follow up last week and told I do have PCOS and they have prescribed Metformin to try even though my insulin resistance was normal as they feel it may help regulate cycles. Have got a hycosy booked for the end of the month and if that's all ok will get the Clomid prescription then. Would have absolutely no idea when I will next have a period just hoping I don't end up with my period then!

SLady · 01/08/2017 11:11

Glad AF arrived littleemma how was the norethisterone for you?

Welcome to the thread soapychoc sounds like you are definitely on the right path to get things moving which is good. What test did you have done to check your insulin?

How are you getting on AmyL88 any signs or symptoms? You're CD25 today right? Will you be testing this week?

SoapyChoc · 01/08/2017 12:13

SLady it was blood tests, had day 3 and also what would be day 21 if I actually had regular cycles. They said to try Metformin but if it really upsets my tummy don't continue as I don't 'need it' for my blood sugars. My GPs has said up to 2 weeks for them to process the prescription request from the hospital so currently waiting for it. How is everyone else getting on with things?

SLady · 01/08/2017 12:35

Oh that's interesting. I had the same blood tests but they didn't mention anything about blood sugars. I'm really interested to find out about mine! CD20 for me of my second cycle of Clomid 50mg. Didn't ovulate first round. Got a blood test tomorrow but I don't think I've ovulated. We shall see!

AmyL88 · 01/08/2017 13:20

Yes CD 25 for me, but only 5 Days since my positive OPK so not sure what to think really as i did have alot of EWCM on CD14 but negative OPK.

I am off on holiday next Wednesday so if AF hasn't shown up i will test before i go away.

Have you had any symptoms yet SLady?

Good News on AF @littleemma If i were you i would push for the clomid prescription. Are you seeing a specialist?

AmyL88 · 01/08/2017 13:28

I have heard of many people taking metformin @SoapyChoc I think they also use it along side clomid for some too?

I think you would have had your blood sugars done @SLady, its normal to have them with other bloods at the start of the investigations.

littleemma1 · 01/08/2017 14:56

Hi all.
Slady I hate nortiserone. It made my cramps 100x worse than what they normally are, and it took 5 days to come on after my last dose rather than the standard 2/3 days.
AF has hit me hard too. I've been off sick yesterday and today as pain was unbelievable yesterday and I've had a migraine and just in general it's exhausted me. Do any of you girls feel like that when she eventually does land? I feel pathetic being off sick because of a period but it's totally taken it out of me!
AmyL I don't want anything to help conceive just yet as we've only just started trying and I really want to try and catch naturally, also we're having a break from now until next April as this is the window I need to try and not get pregnant in for our wedding 😬 I'm going just to see the gynaecologist for the first time on Thursday so will explain all this to them and ask if there's something we can use to try and regulate me between now and next April then when we pick up TTC again hopefully it will be easier! Will keep you all posted on how it goes. Xx

AmyL88 · 01/08/2017 15:19

Ahh sorry @littleemma I had just presumed! Yes if you can get your cycles regular now it will save the faffing in April as its a timely process isnt it! How exciting re the wedding though, that will keep you occupied :-)

littleemma1 · 01/08/2017 15:26

That's exactly what I'm hoping for 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 Fingers crossed!!
I know, I'm just trying to keep myself as occupied as possible and to be fair the time is flying by so it'll be here before we know it! So excited!! Xx

Lorddenning1 · 01/08/2017 15:27

Hello ladies :)

I just wanted to share my story as it might give you hope with ttc. I have a little boy already and we were ttc number 2, fast forward a year and a half and no such luck, my periods were all over the place from 30 days to 65 days, tried to temp, ovulation sticks and also to check my cervix nothing worked, trip to the doctor and I had a blood test which showed a raised progesterone levels. I was the referred to a fertility clinic, where my fertility journey began.

I was mega obsessed with getting pregnant, googled everything, spend loads of money on test etc anyways I found out I had PCOS, and it was bad. I was given 50mg Clomid and also Metformin, plus the folic acid (I swear I used to rattle after taking them all) anyways, 50mg and 100mg were not making me ovulate, kept getting a blood score of around 8 and my day 12 scans didn't show much either, I suggested that they may need to take my bloods around day 28 instead of 21 as I had a feeling I ovulated around day 22/23 day of my cycle, which would give me a low score on day 21, so that's what they do and low and behold I get a score of around 90 :)

They also did my eternal scan a couple of days later and it showed a follicle of around 20mm :) turns out that follicle turn out to be my little boy who is now 6 months old and is a cheeky little chap, but it took a couple of cycles of clomid before it worked though,

50mg - no ovulation
100mg - no ovulation
100mg - no ovulation
150mg - ovulated
150 - ovulated and pregnant

Just wanted to share my story as I would say infertility is one of the hardest things to go through physically and mentally, around the 4th cycle of clomid I spoke to my fella and said I can't keep doing this to myself it's making me ill, we are lucky we have one little boy so we should count ourselves as blessed, we decided to finish the clomid cycle, around 6 goes and then give up, so I started to feel relived and less stressed, which I think is what got. E pregnant in the end :)

Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone of you xxx
