It's a tricky one amy, I'd probably test before you go away and then if AF still doesn't arrive then do another test 14 days after your positive opk just incase. Fingers crossed for you. If my blood test tomorrow shows I ovulated on CD14 I'll be testing on Wednesday with you! I didn't know that, maybe my sugar levels were tested then and they just didn't mention it as it was fine. Perhaps I'll ask next time

Oh sorry you're having a tough time littlemma my periods were slightly heavier on norethisterone but they still only lasted around 4 days which is usual for me. I also take 5 days to come on after the last pill. Exciting about your wedding! They might just suggest going on the pill to regulate your periods. Metformin can help do that but it can give you a bad tummy as soapychoc said so might not be worth it. Keep us updated

Thanks so much lorddenning1 for sharing your story. So nice to hear positive news in what can be such a negative & draining time! I'm on cycle 2 of 50mg but am going to keep trying throughout the whole month this cycle incase I'm ovulating later too. So pleased everything worked out for you

Lorddenning1 · 01/08/2017 15:58

Thanks SLady, I spent my life on these forums myself and I always found comfort in the success stories and it was nice to feel like I wasn't alone, I think the best advice I can give is to BD from around day 10 up to around day 25, but only every other day :) it's hard work but it can give u the best possible chance if you don't know when you ovulate xx

AmyL88 · 01/08/2017 16:10

@Lorddenning1 Thanks for sharing your story, that's the kind of positive things we want to hear :-)

I am going to take my clomid tablets away with me so I can carry on if AF does show up while i am away.
I am going away without OH too so if timing isn't right i could miss the fertile window all together!

Just looked at the calendar, Wednesday would be 11 DPO for me and I think I am being optimistic if it will show if it was positive!

FX for your blood test tomorrow @SLady. Lets hope its good news on the ovulation front! Will you up your dose next cycle if it shows no ovulation?

SLady · 01/08/2017 16:43

Thanks for the tip lorddenning1 we sort of gave up about cd17 last time but this time we've been BD every other day without fail since cd8, it can actually be hard work but I am determined this cycle to catch ovulation if it happens as I'm not being monitored. Going to keep trying until AF is due!

That sounds like a good plan amy. It's hard to know when to test when you are not being monitored! I did a test cd29 and cd35 last time and then started nore.
Yes I'm not holding out much hope as I've had no symptoms at all, if I haven't ovulated I'll be starting cycle 3 with 100mg thankfully! What about you?

Lorddenning1 · 01/08/2017 16:56

How come you are not being monitored SLady and Amy x

SLady · 01/08/2017 19:21

They've stopped monitoring in my nhs area. I just get a CD21 blood test until I'm on the right dose. Not sure why they don't monitor anymore, they said they've never ever had an incidence of twins and OHSS is extremely rare. I didn't really ask them their reasons to be honest. What did your clinic say Amy?

littleemma1 · 01/08/2017 19:31

Lordenning thanks for sharing your story! I LOVE hearing about the positives because when you google you normally only hear the negatives!
I am absolutely not going back on the pill and I am standing my ground on that one, I think its unreasonable they continue to suggest this when all it does is mask any problems you're having rather than fix it?! They have already suggested it and I have said nope, will continue to do so as well.
Will do xx

SLady · 01/08/2017 20:10

Yes I totally understand where you're coming from but PCOS can't be fixed so I don't think they are trying to mask the problem, just help try and relieve whatever symptoms are bothering you the most and if that's irregular periods then the simplest way would be the pill especially if you don't want to conceive. You've totally got to do what's right for you though. Hope you get the answers you want Flowers

littleemma1 · 01/08/2017 20:14

Hmm I do get we're you're coming from but I really don't want to be back on the pill so will try for any alternatives. The NHS are great but I feel already when it comes to things like fertility you need to push, push, push xx

AmyL88 · 02/08/2017 08:53

I will only be monitored if they have to up my dose from 50mg. I guess it varies from one NHS area to another.

My consultant did go through the chances of multiples but its still a very small percentage.

Let us know how you get on @SLady with your bloods.

SLady · 02/08/2017 09:04

Thats good you get monitoring at some point, im not sure I do at all. We only talked about the first two rounds at my first appointment. Thank you AmyL88 will do! xx

AmyL88 · 02/08/2017 09:20

@SLady so can you up your dose without being monitored?

I hate to symptom spot however i have had really sore nipples this cycle, not sure if its the extra hormones floating around my body. I hate this 2ww!!

SLady · 02/08/2017 09:33

I think so AmyL88!! I guess I will soon find out what the next plan is - I hope to have my blood results by the end of the week.

Ooh that sounds positive. I've been trying to symptom spot but absolutely nothing!

Lorddenning1 · 02/08/2017 10:08

I think the cruel thing is the symptoms of early pregnancy are the same as AF arriving :(

When I thought I was pregnant I was moody, boobs hurt, spotty, cramping etc, turns out I wasn't pregnant

When I was actually pregnant I got none of the above, just a slight nausea feeling lol

SLady · 02/08/2017 11:17

Oh really, and everyone is so different too. The 2ww is the worst lorddenning1 especially when you don't even know if you are in the 2ww or not Confused haha. When did your symptoms of nausea start?

AmyL88 · 02/08/2017 11:42

@SLady i was going to comment the same, I am not even sure if i am in the 2WW! AF turns up when she wants.

SLady · 02/08/2017 12:04

It's because we're not monitored AmyL88 so we haven't got a clue what's going on! I'm just DTD and hoping for the best Grin

Lorddenning1 · 02/08/2017 12:36

Have you all been keeping an eye on your cervical Mucas, that's normally a good indicator :)

I used to wait 7 days and then test everyday until day 14, I was naughty and obsessed, I used to hold the test to the light and everything :( I was around 3 weeks pregnant when I started to get symptoms xx

SLady · 02/08/2017 13:03

Yes I've been trying to lorddenning1 I had EWCM around CD15 cycle 1 and then loads again on CD28 but I didn't think I could ovulate that late so I didn't think anything of it. This cycle i've had nothing so far!
Haha, very naughty, that must have cost you a fortune Wink. I get so down when I see a negative so I always try and hold out... although not for too long incase I start to get my hopes up! Oh it's a tricky business this TTC stuff xx

AmyL88 · 03/08/2017 10:45

My Cycle sounds similar to yours @SLady I had loads of ewcm on CD13/14/15 the nothing then again CD20 where i then had a v.nearly positive OPK.

Perhaps you did ovulate on cycle 1, just late?

I know how you feel @Lorddenning1 , I am a repeat tester too!! haha I only have IC's now so save some money on FR's ! x

SLady · 03/08/2017 11:29

Hmm maybe? Can't believe I've had no symptoms whatsoever this cycle! How you feeling today?

I think Id be the same with testing if I knew I had ovulated, id just want to find out as soon as possible!! x

AmyL88 · 03/08/2017 12:04

As it wasn't a deffo positive OPK I must admit i am not that optimistic. We didnt DTD as much as I would have liked this month but I am not putting pressure on myself as in my head i have 6 rounds of clomid to get my BFP!

My little boy is 5 in November and i must admit i never expected to have this age gap but these things happen for a reason! I am looking forward to my holiday to take some time away from stressing about TTC!

How are you feeling? Any symptoms?

SLady · 03/08/2017 12:37

That's a really good way to look at it, DH says that to me too that we've got 6 rounds to get pregnant. A holiday will be perfect to take your mind off everything for a while and relax!
No nothing at all, as 50mg didn't work last month I'm not really expecting it to have worked this time anyway. I'll be excited to have my dose upped, hopefully that gives it the push it needs!!

Lorddenning1 · 03/08/2017 13:24

I got pregnant on my 5th round of Clomid, I was convinced it wasn't going to work, it took 7 months with my 1st and I had no idea I had pcos :(
There is a 5 and a half year gap between my two as it took us 2 years to conceive number 2, they get in great too :)
