Just catching up with everyone! I had an HSG on Thursday so for anyone going for that if you need it it's not bad at all, I had got so worked up about it because last week I had a saline sonogram and that was uncomfortable.

@SLady I hear those conceive plus and pre seed are the exact same and mimic the right PH so that the sperm can do where it needs to travel, I might actually look into that too.

My follow up is booked for August 17th so will hopefully be walking out of that room with clomid in my hands! Can't wait to catch up for once!

ElizabethCatherine so glad your HSG wasn't too bad, when do you get results or could they tell you there and then? That's good to hear about preseed/conceive plus... CP was alot cheaper on Amazon and also claims to do a bit more I think. As long as it doesn't hinder anything I think it'll be worth using.
Not too much longer to wait...im excited for you!!

ElizabethCatherine · 23/07/2017 06:13

@SLady the reviews on amazon seem to have a real good response for both! Yeah with both tests I had done they tell you right there and then which is good!! I actually had a dream about you the other day and you were pregnant! I guess because we have connected on insta I can put a face to these posts now :) It's going to be soon for you I know it!

That's really good no waiting! All ready for your Clomid now woop!!

Hi Ladies,

Just checking in, CD 17 for me today. I've had plenty of EWCM last few days but no positive OPK yet. I feel like clomid has helped me but i guess i am relying alot on a positive OPK!!!

Hows everyone else? Any ovulation signs yet @SLady?

SLady · 24/07/2017 10:20

Hi Amy CD12 for me no real signs of ovulation yet. Lots of DTD and crossing my fingers! What time of day do you use you opks?

Still time to get a positive OPK and you might have even ovulated already! Lots of EWCM is a good sign just keep on DTD!

AmyL88 · 24/07/2017 11:55

Yes I may have missed the surge, I am going to try and DTD every other day for the next week at least so hopefully I'll catch the fertile period! OH is happy anyway ;-)

I have been using them twice a day, afternoon and evening. I have read the O surge can come 3/4 days after EWCM so i will carry on with them as i guess i can still ovulate late as i have before. I was hoping clomid would bring it forward.

I have also stated fertility reflexology, which is so relaxing! Even if it doesn't help the hour a week of total relaxation is amazing! x

littleemma1 · 24/07/2017 12:13

I've just had a major panic thought, if I'm on nortiserone but somehow have miraculously ovulated and am pg what is it gonna do?! I never thought to ask the doctor that!!! 😳😳😳

AmyL88 · 24/07/2017 12:22

@littleemma1 can you take a test to put your mind at rest?

HollyWollyDooDah · 24/07/2017 13:07

Don't know how to ask this so I'm just going to come out and say it

How do you do a std test kit at home?
I've got to do one for referral, however I'm confused.
It has a swab stick and bottle - can figure that but it also has a pipette - wth do you do with that?!

SLady · 24/07/2017 15:43

Yes definitely amy best to have it covered. I wouldnt rely 100% on the opks anyway. And yes ovulating late is definitely a possibility! Oh really, that sounds nice, is it meant to help with conceiving? I definitely think being relaxed and not stressed is a huge help!

I was wondering about this too emma I'll ask my consultant next time I speak to him. I would just do a test before. I told my consultant I was going to be taking norethisterone on holiday and he told me to keep trying so I would expect that it doesn't make you bleed if you are pregnant but I will check next time and let you know.

Is this just for chlamydia holly? I only had to do the self swab stick for my referral. I didn't have the pipette? I know the tests for a man and woman are different so maybe the pipette isn't relevant??

littleemma1 · 24/07/2017 17:25

Slady I've already started taking it 😖 I'm at work super early in the morning so will do a test with FMU on Wednesday as I'm off. I'm not taking my last dose of nortiserone til Wednesday night so if it's +ve I can speak to the docs at least xxx

SLady · 24/07/2017 18:13

That sounds like a plan emma don't worry too much. I think norethisterone can be used for alot of different things and I'm sure that if you were pregnant whilst on it it wouldn't be the end of the world otherwise my consultant would have told me to stop trying when on it

littleemma1 · 24/07/2017 18:47

That's actually a really good point Slady! Xx

AmyL88 · 24/07/2017 20:47

@SLady well I have booked in to particularly focus on fertility (or Infertility!!!) so she focuses more on the ovaries pressure point. I am no expert but its all to do with pressure points in your feet....very relaxing and some people swear by it to help them conceive.

I have just taken another OPK it's a blank white!! I am wondering if i have already Ovulated as i have had so much ewcm the last 4 days, it would fall in line with the 14 day rule however i am sceptical to think clomid worked perfectly first time round...hmmm! I really need to focus on my diet, I am eating so much crap as i am stressed with work and life in general. If i am being honest with myself I need to lose at least 2 stone.

@Holly I didnt have the pipette either? Are you sure you need it?

littleemma1 · 24/07/2017 21:20

I've just tested with an IC and BFN but will test again on Wednesday with FMU as I haven't tested in a while and we've been dtd a lot.

What's this STD thing? Do you have to be tested before they even refer you?! 🤔

AmyL I've heard good reviews on reflexology and acupuncture too! I'd be rather scared to do acupuncture as I have a huge phobia of needles but wonder if it would help regulate my cycles.

I've started to develop spots and cramps are ramping up so I'm hoping nortiserone will bring AF on finally!

AmyL88 · 25/07/2017 11:11

@littleemma1 I have the same feelings re acupuncture too! You could look into reflexology, I want to help myself as much as I can so willing to try more natural remedies aswell as going down the consultant route!

Had an appointment this morning and all other tests seem ok so he is hopeful clomid will work for me. I am not being monitored this cycle but he will monitor me next cycle. I feel like i am finally getting somewhere!

Hi, does anyone have any advice or success stories about trying to conceive with pcos?
I am currently having periods every other month or so, & taking folic acid, vitamin d & evening primrose oil as I hear these help. I have clomid that hasn't been prescribed (I bought abroad over the counter) & have dong quai that is supposed to help induce on a period? (Haven't taken yet)

Has any of this worked for anyone? I don't have time for the numerous GP appts due to work. So trying my very best to do it all myself.
Also, for clomid I've read mixed comments on people taking on either days 2-6 of period but some take on days 5-9. Any advice on which days are most successful?

Thank you!

Saima68 · 25/07/2017 22:09

Hi all. I'm new to this so please be nice! Haha I've been ttc for over 2 years now and been diagnosed with pcos I'm currently on metformin and clomid for 3 months now and nothing Confused I already feel like I'm losing this battle but I don't want to feel like this I'm feeling sad all I ever wanted was to be a mum :(

louthomas · 25/07/2017 22:50

Hi!

Hope someone can advise. I was diagnosed with mild PCOS last year during the process of donating eggs to a friend.

This spring, my partner and I have been TTC (I have a 7.5 yr old too). I went to the drs re the PCOS before TTC and they said try for while first.

I went back after TTC for 6 months with no luck and they said they couldn't do anything as I'm an ineligible for fertility treatment. I was hoping that they may be able to prescribe metformin or clomid. sad

Has anyone been prescribed anything to help with PCOS even if not eligible for fertility treatment? I feel like I have received no advice or anything so I feel a little lost at what to do.

Has anyone here with mild PCOS conceived naturally? I'm 27, healthy weight, etc.

Thanks in advance! smile

Saima68 · 26/07/2017 06:57

Good luck. Just hang in there, ask them for clomid and metformin surely they should give u that at the least ?

littleemma1 · 26/07/2017 08:35

Kj88 I think it's really risky that you've self prescribed and bought clomid as this is a really risky drug to take and you have to be monitored over the month to see if it helps your ovaries. It puts you at a much higher risk of multiples. I think you need to take a step back, be sensible and visit your GP! As for you saying you don't have time, that's ridiculous. TTC is a serious matter as all of the women on here will tell you and if you aren't conceiving naturally a consultation to work out why is needed as it may not only be down to PCOS!
Please give your head a wobble, take this seriously and visit your GP, I don't want to sound mean but this is your health that youre playing with.

Saima I think you need to follow your own advice and hang in there! We all know these things can take a very long time, patience is a virtue and the best things in life are worth waiting for.

Louthomas if you try for a while first they then might consider you for fertility, but we're all asked to try for a minimum of 12m naturally before we're offered anything. Try naturally as that's the best way and if no success after a year then go back to docs.

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 26/07/2017 08:43

I used to be a lurker on here when TTC and just wanted to recommend ovusense - I promise I'm not paid by them! I'm 33 weeks pregnant w my second dc and this gadget is for women with PCOS specifically and I just think it's great. It pinpoints exactly when you ovulate (I ovulated on day 28) rather than relying on OPKs which we know can be unreliable for us.
I got pregnant first time on metformin and was taking it again with inositol to try to get pregnant again. But my cycles were getting longer each month and didn't know when I was ovulating and was frustrated. First month of ovusense I got pregnant.
It's basically a tampon size probe which you insert each night and it monitors your temp every 5 mins to get a very accurate picture of your cycle. It links to your phone and gives you a graph and prediction of ovulation etc.
Sorry if this has been covered before but I've been so impressed with it and have no idea I'd be pregnant now if it wasn't for this.

AmyL88 · 27/07/2017 15:57

I need to ask, does EWCM always mean ovulation ? I am CD 20 and so far still no positive OPK...! EWCM was so much last week (CD14/15) and now it seems to have dried up. All this TTC is driving me mad, and now i am on clomid i feel like it should make it easier but its not!!

Rant over!

How are you other ladies getting on?
