@elly how long are your cycles normally? Clomid is meant to make them shorter though isn't it? I don't know much about the whole clomid process!

Treatment is ok. The injections are a literal pain and I'm an absolute stroppy mare! Plus am so tired all of the time! I've kind of lost any excitement over it, but I am back to looking at baby stuff on the internet (which I had banned myself from!) because it all seems a bit more likely these days!

Oh something which might be relevant to those of you on clomid (if you are also suffering mfi) is that when my DH went to the gp the doc mentioned using the stork device as apparently it actually can be pretty good at combating low motility!
It's also.thing I'm going to try if all this medical conception goes wrong!

SLady · 16/07/2017 08:53

Hi elly taken two tablets so far and no symptoms except for the usual bloating and I do take them at night and it does make me really hot during the night but nothing major so all good. I think take the norethisterone on holiday and then you can relax on holiday knowing when you get back af will arrive and you can get started again... thats what i just did. I have actually been thinking about this for my second round, when af didn't arrive by CD35 (which is usually when people start the next round) my doctor did say we could wait a bit longer and also asked how long my cycles usually were. I had SO much EWCM CD28 i wonder whether I did ovulate. I asked him and he said he wouldn't be able to say until my blood test. I think i might see how my blood test goes CD21, if I'm a 1 then just start round 3 straight away and try 100mg but I've also been thinking of trying opks later in the cycle to see if I do ovulate on it. My last natural cycle was 72 days so i get the impression it can take a while to get them to the proper length. I'm really not sure if there's any point to that or if its a waste of time, I know most people do cycles back to back. Any thoughts? I'm just so wary we only get officially 6 cycles and I don't want to waste them by being impatient. Does anyone know if Clomid has cumulative effects? If so I guess it would be better doing it back to back. My doctor also said continue trying on holiday and he knew that's when I was taking norethisterone, so I assume norethisterone won't make you have a bleed once you're pregnant? Sorry for the ramble but it's been something I've been thinking about for the last few days and im really confused!

littleemma1 · 16/07/2017 09:12

Hi all 👋🏻
Just catching up with everyone! Hope you're all well, hopefully those of you on treatments aren't suffering too bad and it works! 🤞🏼
I'm pretty rough at the moment, it's now been 81 days since my last AF and I am desperate for my next one so the pain goes away 😔 I ended up off sick one day last week as the pain was so bad I couldn't stand, ( I think this is the Endo? ) so I went to docs begging them to give me something to bring AF on as I know once I've had it the pain will subside for a few weeks but they said there's nothing they can give me 🤔 and can't help until I've seen the gynaecologist on 3rd August! I was really miffed and the only thing they gave me were tummy protectors so I can take stronger painkillers so I'm popping them everyday now 😭
She also made some comments which really annoyed me, the first one was to just go back on the pill as I'm not actively TTC at the mo and "let's be honest the chances of you getting pregnant with cycles like this is highly unlikely anyway!" and I said well no as that's just masking the problems I'm having and doesn't help for my appointment, the second was "oooo you'd have to be really unlucky to have PCOS and Endo at the same time" well here I am 😤😠
Sorry for the rant so early on a Sunday!! Xx

GeorgiaM · 16/07/2017 13:01

Hope you don't mind me joining your group!
Me and my husband have been ttc for 7 months and have recently been diagnosed with PCOS.
Would be nice to talk to other people in a similar position to us.
I haven't had my referral to gynae yet so don't really know what happens next.

littleemma1 · 16/07/2017 14:52

Hi GeorgiaM! I'm waiting to see the gyno, 3rd August! Technically not TTC just yet so hopefully getting the issues sorted and know what to do when the time comes! Lovely bunch of girls on here who are very supportive xx

AmyL88 · 18/07/2017 15:54

Hi Ladies,

Hows it going @SLady? I am on CD 11 today and will start OPK testing tomorrow. I didn't have many side effects of the clomid other than really emotional! To answer your earlier question no i am not being monitored on this cycle.

I did get positive OPKS on previous cycles on CD 24 and CD31 we didnt DTD at the right time but i often wondered if these were genuine positives and i did actually ovulate?! Perhaps you are just ovulating later on especially if you had EWCM?

@littleemma1 Surly you can push for medication to help AF return? My longest cycle was 80 days and it killed me waiting that long!

littleemma1 · 18/07/2017 16:14

Hi AmyL, you'd think they would give me something wouldn't you?! I'm CD83 now and I think I'm going to go back to docs on Friday and ask again if AF still isn't here! Xx

SLady · 18/07/2017 16:55

All good Amy, last Clomid tablet tonight so CD6 for me. No side effects either apart from the hot night sweats! Are you having a CD21 blood test this month? I am this month so what I thought is if it shows no ovulation ask the clinic if it's worth using them for the end of the cycle to see if I am ovulating late. I suppose I could start using them before just out of interest. I've bought some but haven't decided yet.

Hi to the newbies, welcome to the thread. The more the merrier

Superhero2 · 18/07/2017 17:50

Hi I hope you guys don't mind if I join.... really could do with the support.

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 20 lost huge amounts of weight and was extremely lucky to fall pregnant naturally at 24 and have a gorgeous little boy.

I'm now desperate to conceive no. 2 but struggling and my symptoms have reared their ugly head and I have put on large amounts of weight. I'm working on loosing it again and have been to the GP who has taken some blood tests. They the phoned and told me my progesterone is low and want to read test. They didn't really tell me what this means but I'm not panicking completely, any words of advice?

I know how blessed we are to have one beautiful baby but I just feel so empty at the thought of never doing it again :-(

Superhero2 · 18/07/2017 17:53

*now panicking.... wish I wasnt

SLady · 18/07/2017 18:32

Hi superhero I think low progesterone is what they test for ovulation so a low result means you haven't ovulated. I wouldn't panic and worry especially as you have already been diagnosed. It's routine to have the same tests done even if you have a diagnosis. I've been tested 3 times!! Hopefully if you lose a bit of weight that might trigger ovulation if it worked last time. If not the next step is a referral to a fertility clinic so they can try and regulate your cycles and induce ovulation. Are your cycles irregular?

Superhero2 · 18/07/2017 20:54

Thanks @SLady that's reassuring. I guess because it just happened last time even though I was told it was virtually impossible I would conceive without fertility treatment, that I haven't thought or needed to know these things before so it all feels new and scary :-/

My cycles aren't regular when I conceived my DS I hadn't had a period for 4 months I have gone as long as 6 months. I guess I just want to mentally prepare for this.

littleemma1 · 18/07/2017 21:17

Superhero this is what I like to here!! I'm coming up to 3m now without a period so at least I know it is still possible!! Xx

littleemma1 · 18/07/2017 21:17

Woops, hear!

Superhero2 · 18/07/2017 21:38

Littleemma1 it's definitely possible.... I still pinch myself now as when I was first diagnosed the picture looked bleak or that's how the gyne made it out anyway. I just don't think it's going to happen like that again.... and my need for 2nd baby is as strong as it was before I had my first...another thing I never realised was possible!

Elly1685 · 18/07/2017 21:54

floofy I've never had regular cycles, when I came off the pill I had a 120 day + cycle then another 100 day cycle until I was given notheristerone. so it's really hard to work out cycle days and when I could potentially ovulate

littleemma1 · 18/07/2017 22:10

What exactly does notheristerone do?

Elly1685 · 19/07/2017 06:29

emma it induces a bleed. So I take it to induce a bleed each month because i don't have natural periods, then I take clomid to help me ovulate x

littleemma1 · 19/07/2017 08:20

I'm so angry to discover this when they've sent me away with nothing!!! Definitely going back when I'm off on Friday armed with this information now, thank you xx

SLady · 21/07/2017 00:09

Has anyone ever used "sperm friendly" lube? I've ordered some Conceive Plus and might give it a whirl. I was going to go with Preseed but it was alot more expensive. Fingers crossed it's ok and doesn't kill the little buggers

looking4hope · 21/07/2017 11:45

SLady, didn't want to read and run. I've been using Conceive Plus - it helped last year, but not this year Smile Some say that it can help low quality sperm reach the egg (which is not great as they're not supposed to go that far), but those are in the minority. Success rate (based on reviews) seems high so I'll stick to it.

Hope you're all well, have been quiet because of pre-holiday work and some more TTC disappointment (I've managed to miraculously ovulate twice in a month, but my eggs must be crap as our timing has been perfect and yet nothing sticks). Just returned from a relaxing 9-day break and I'll properly catch up with everything. Happy Friday!

littleemma1 · 21/07/2017 12:03

Well I've finally had progress at the docs today... given me nortiserone to try and bring my period on!
Looking4hope I'm sorry to hear you've had no luck this month, that's good to know that you've ovulated twice though! Fingers crossed that carries on and you get a sticky bean out of it! Xxx

SLady · 21/07/2017 12:18

Thanks for the reply looking4hope I think I'm going to give it a go for my benefit really. DHs sperm is very good so I didn't want to counteract that in anyway. But seems like it shouldn't do. Glad you've had a nice break, does you the world of good. That's frustrating that there's been no sticky beans :( amazing you've ovulated twice though! It's only about a 30% chance or so for anyone in one month so don't be too harsh on yourself Flowers

That's good news emma. The only tip id give is to take it at meal times, as for me that was my only symptom - feeling sick/tummy ache if I took it on an empty stomach. But taking it at meals times completely stopped that

littleemma1 · 21/07/2017 13:01

Slady thanks for the tip, I actually have to be careful as I had a stomach ulcer so definitely worth knowing that! xx

littleemma1 · 21/07/2017 13:02
