The cycle I used the monitor I had my day 21 bloods. Which was 1!
I was also temping and it showed no obvious rise in temp. So had to take pills to bring on AF as got to day40!

I once was so regular (before pill) every 28 days bang on!

I also don't have AF unless I ovulate. Wasted so many cycles of 40 days plus just waiting for AF to arrive.

Where are u ktmp? Is your Gp helpful?

I'm in Manchester. My GP is useless, he just refers you to a specialist so I'm under the fertility clinic at the hospital. The consultant I see there spends all of 5 minutes with me and doesn't care. I actually had a blood pregnancy test at the doctors on day 37 during my 65 day cycle and broke down with the nurse. She sent me straight to the hospital to see the consultant and I thought I may actually get some answers (or at least a scan to check). Instead she laughed at me and made me feel stupid for worrying. She told me that I shouldn't be concerned at being late because I'm irregular so it can go both ways (never previously got over 24 days). Then I got a handwritten note stating that I had to test at 42 days, then 49 and if negative I just had to start 100mg Clomid regardless. No help with starting AF or anything. Ended up taking it at day 49 and then coming on at day 66 so took another dose of clomid.

KTMP, you've been treated so badly by your doctors. I feel let down on your behalf!

My GP appt is Thurs and then internal scan on Fri. Prob would be better the other way around but I'm going to ask the dr for a prescription for more Clomid but only fill it after the hospital visit and I get my results.

Still holding out a 0.5% hope that I'm actually three or four months preggers and just didn't know it. I know it's not true but a girl can dream, right?? I really want to be one of those stories!

This month's AF was strange. Not especially heavy - medium at best - and absolutely nothing like last month. On about CD 8-10, depending on how you count my bleed. So no Clomid this month again, no matter what GP says.

Keep telling myself it's ok and maybe one day I'll believe it.

otters2017 · 25/04/2017 11:41

I'm in Essex and feel incredibly lucky to have a good GP and good services here. GP referred to specialist quite quickly because of my age (38) and have had scans and blood tests then started on clomid.
Had my day 21 bloods yesterday and the progesterone is 15 (it was 25 last month) so definitely not ovulating Sad however I wonder if I may have ovulated late so the result is inaccurate. I had flashing smileys on the CBFM for most of last week but never got a static smiley. Am hoping that maybe just maybe the egg popped out sometime over the weekend. My app says I'm due AF last week but if I ovulated late does that mean I have another 2 weeks from now? I always thought the day 21 bloods are only accurate if you have a regular 28 day cycle but the professionals seem to place a lot of value in them!

SummerHopin · 25/04/2017 20:46

Otters my nurse said if you have non 27day cycles then think of 21 day bloods as '7dpo' bloods.
On a standard cycle of 28 days you ovulate on day 14 then get your progesterone peak at day 21 and bleed at day 28.
The 7 day peak and 14 day bleed should be consistent from your ovulation date, unless you have an abnormal luteul phase I think.
I get my results tomorrow. I have already decided that I can't have ovulated because I don't feel anything. No different and not like I have ovulated. Secretly hoping I'm proven wrong but I don't think so.

SummerHopin · 25/04/2017 20:46

Sorry, 28 days not 27

otters2017 · 25/04/2017 22:34

summer thanks for clarifying. It makes sense so hope my body behaves! What results are you getting tomorrow? Good luck!

Londonjam · 26/04/2017 08:39

Hello hope you don't mind me asking if anyone here got clomid privately? How did you go about it, are you monitored and is it expensive? Thanks

SummerHopin · 26/04/2017 11:39

No worries otters - its my 21 day test funnily enough! Will call this pm.

SummerHopin · 26/04/2017 11:42

Hi LondonJam - I remember you from a previous thread way back at the start of my ttc journey! How you doing mate?

I didnt get clomid privately, but was prepared to get it that way if I wasnt given it when I was. I looked into it at my clinic (Bourn Hall) and they do a 3 cycle package for £900 which includes all the blood tests, consultations and scans in that. It sounds expensive (well, it is really) but I know that the clomid script itself is only about £9-£12!! Crazy!

I dont think they would allow you to buy the clomid itself sepately with no monitoring, although from what we've found on this thread its a postcode lottery as to how much you;re monitored. Some ladies are given the script and told to get on with it - so if your clinic does this it might be cheaper in a way, if that makes sense??

Let me know how you're doing.

Londonjam · 26/04/2017 12:18

Hello summer I'm still plugging away unfortunately! Hope you are doing well. Thanks for the info. I'm actually thinking about buying it online and just paying for scans - it's all so expensive!

Footy1 · 26/04/2017 12:32

Hey jam! I'm on this thread too!
From an earlier thread on clomid it was recommended to buy online from oxford pharmacy. You have to do a consultation which is just few questions online. If there's a problem they call u. A few ladies got it from there. Was about £25/35 pounds for 3 cycles. They don't monitor u at all. Best to start on 50mg.

I've never been monitored on mine, and as you know from the other thread it's unpredictable.

KP86 · 26/04/2017 17:14

I got mine from Oxford Pharmacy, but I've had it before so knew what I was getting myself into.

Total cost was around £45 for a consult and two cycles of 50mg tabs.

I had all the bloods and internal tests (lap and dye etc) first time around but no scans mid-cycle like I've seen others have. It worked first to (not this time!!) so hard to say what would've happened had I needed to continue with it.

otters2017 · 26/04/2017 17:34

summer did you get a good test result?

Hello londonjam can you please update me on your current situation?
I got clomid prescribed by a fertility consultant via referral from my GP.

SummerHopin · 26/04/2017 17:51

Got my progesterone results - 44.80!

Definite ovulation has occurred. Hello 2ww!

otters2017 · 26/04/2017 17:57

Congrats summer so pleased for you Smile

KP86 · 26/04/2017 18:05

Summer, that's awesome. Fingers crossed for you.

SummerHopin · 26/04/2017 19:12

Thanks guys. I don't think I have any symptoms really - I have been tired, but I'm always tired, and I've eaten lots but I always eat lots!!!

Not really sure what day AF is due but will just probably see what happens over the next week. It was such great news though. For all I know this could have been my first ovulation!

Footy1 · 26/04/2017 19:12

That's great ovulation figure!! Woop woop summer! Fingers crossed for your bfp

Hello footy Wink

Otter we've been trying for a baby for 17 months ... previously tests showed low morphology but now normal and high count and motility... my tests results are normal... my right ovary is polycystic but I don't have PCOS, I have very regular cycles.

We've been referred to the hospital and seen a consultant twice: they won't prescribe clomid as I ovulate regularly. We are on the waiting list for IVF, it starts in October so I'm just looking at what else I can try in the meantime

Ktmp · 26/04/2017 20:03

Excellent news Summer!!

Just checking in, day 13 here and still high on monitor. Trying not to stress out about the peak but easier said than done.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

otters2017 · 26/04/2017 21:44

londonjam good luck with ivf. Is that under the nhs? Was there a long waiting list and is it in London? We've been trying for about 16 months. I'm not ovulating based on progesterone results so even started on clomid. Currently cycle 2 of clomid and still hoping that I ovulate. Ivf is the next step but I was reading criteria is must have been trying for more than 3 years hence my questions.

Footy1 · 26/04/2017 22:31

Otters hope your test was just too early and you have ovulated. Maybe try taking your temp- my temp was always a sure indicator for me. This cycle I didn't ovulate and had no sore boobs, twinges or anything. The progesterone in 2ww usually is obvious for me but guess every body is different.
Day 3 of the AF pills, and already moody, hotter, and boobs started to hurt.
