Otters that's the problem with the day21 prog tests, as they are so inaccurate if ovulation was later than day14.

Summer - oh no sorry u got baby bombed. Really is horrible feeling we can't genuinely get excited about others baby news. Makes me want it more too. Just can only hope it'll happen soon.
Feel for u as it's awful thinking u haven't ovulated especially after putting in lots of effort. I feel like I'm going out my mind now..this been two cycles in a row. Do u her pains around ovulation? I always do; however I never use to when I was trying for my boys 9years ago. So I don't know what is normal?

Anyone else get niggles or cramps around ovulation?

Kp ha yes I don't mind the bad bits of parenting either.. just want another baby. Even if it kept me awake all night screaming.. I still want one.

Thanks for sharing your story inthistogether really helpful and gives us hope.

Am I right in thinking we are all taking 100mg and above?

Still haven't ovulated! Cd27!! One whole cycle and nothing. Not had any cramps at all.

otters2017 · 21/04/2017 08:15

I'm on 150mg. Trying so hard to keep positive but it's really hard especially when the desperation kicks in. Am
Now wondering if I have pcos without the cysts and googling everything! I've only had a ultrasound and blood test so not sure if they can diagnose things like endometriosis or pcos based on that but been told all ok.

SummerHopin · 21/04/2017 13:20

Im only on 50mg. But I have PCOS so need to be on the lowest dose possible as my AMH was through the roof.

Had my progesterone test today, so that everything done for this cycle I've just got to wait for AF (or my BFP putting my positive pants on!). Will get the results end of next week.

Today is cd26, so definitely proves that just having a cd21 is not always right. My follicle was 16mm on cd16 so expected OD was cd20-21. Todays test still technically might be a day or two early, but had to do today as its a Friday.

Still feeling a little blue, but better after a bit of a duvet night lastnight.

Sorry you've not Od footy.

otters you might want to ask for more bloods, as PCOS is the syndrome i.e. the hormone imbalance and the levels can differ each cycle. I am on a PCOS thread as well as we all have different situations - some have cysts, some dont, some have major hormone imbalances, some dont, some have had it for years, others (like me) only found out when ttc. Its worth another chat with your clinic even if your scan showed no physical cysts.

Footy1 · 21/04/2017 13:52

I was borderline pcos. I had not many cysts, and not overweight but had a high L/H and irregular cycles. That's why all my opks were positive. They started me on metformin but so far not made any difference.
Otters- I spend my whole life on Google! Haha.. every new symptom, im there googling away. Lol
Have you had a FSH/LH test? And all the fertility bloods?

OP posts:
otters2017 · 21/04/2017 17:03

I've had lots of blood tests done. Pretty sure my hormone profile is normal so maybe I'm just obsessing. Surely they would have said oh it looks like pcos if there's something abnormal!
I asked about the blood test and was told I can have a day 21 and day 28 bloods. Unfortunately day 28 is bank holiday Monday and we are away that week so will have to book a blood test for Friday day 25 and hope for the best! So annoying! I've read that the progesterone test should be 7dpo so if (fingers crossed ) I ovulate tomorrow then Friday is reasonably accurate. Anyway it will be interesting to see if the levels differ.
What's everyone got planned for the weekend? I'm going out to see a friend to try and take my mind off TTC! I'm not sure if she's trying and may well find a TTC friend if she is.

Footy1 · 21/04/2017 18:28

I'm on a course tomorrow but other than that not much this weekend. It's so hard not to obsess, really just wish it was all so simple. It's difficult enough to conceive without stressing over ovulation.
Fingers crossed that you ovulate tomorrow then.
Going to try to remember to take the Angus castus as I keep forgetting.. hopefully this will help.

I know exactly what you mean footy so another flashing smiley today and I've run out of sticks. Anyway we are staying with a friend tonight so won't be able to dtd or poas! It's so frustrating. I think the digital sticks are fairly accurate. Am hoping this although it's flashing I may have ovulated somehow somewhere. Yesterday I had a heavy feeling and I was convinced I was ovulating. Probably just wistful thinking. Have a good weekend all Smile

Ktmp · 22/04/2017 17:44

Hello everyone!! Just had a lovely night away at a spa so thought I'd check in now I'm all relaxed!

I have no idea what ovulation feels like! Really want to insist on another day 21 bloods (last one was October) but not much point when the IVF referral is looming and if there's no bfp on the horizon what benefit would it be knowing?! What are your sure fire signs that you've ovulated?

Currently day 9 here and third day of high on clearblue (no lows at all this month).

otters2017 · 23/04/2017 09:34

Hope you had a lovely time at the spa ktmp sounds lovely.

I don't think I've ever ovulated so I have no idea. I don't tend to get symptoms pre AF either. A colleague at work told me she can feel when she's ovulating!! It came up in conversation because she was off sick for a while with a burst ovarian cyst.

I guess all we can do is keep dtd and hope for the best! I don't have any test sticks left plus we stayed overnight at a friend's place so no idea if I've ovulated or not. Luckily we manage to dtd yesterday before heading out so we're covered for today!

Happy Sunday all Smile

Footy1 · 23/04/2017 15:30

When I've ovulated in the past I have had quite strong twinges, cramps, possible headache, EWCM and sensitive tingly boobs. Definitely not felt any of that..this cycle.

My cervix is still high and quite soft so I just keep thinking it will happen soon?! Grr getting so annoyed with my useless body.

Kt /otters is it an ovulation clearblue you are using? Or a fertility monitor?

OP posts:
Ktmp · 23/04/2017 16:47

I'm using the clearblue monitor Footy. Another high day here. Praying for a peak this month.

otters2017 · 23/04/2017 16:54

I'm using the clear blue dual hormone fertility monitor. I have just ordered a thermometer and 50 cheap opks for next cycle whilst desperately hoping that this one has worked!

Ktmp · 23/04/2017 18:59

Haven't heard of that one otters! Off to Google! 😂

Ktmp · 23/04/2017 19:00

Oops that's the one I have!

otters2017 · 23/04/2017 20:48

I found an opk in the drawer so poas and it was negative. I don't know if the urine is too dilute or it's too late in the day (looked normal colour) I've had 5 days of flashing smileys on CBFM and this negative today. Does it mean I ovulated yesterday? We have dtd ed except one over the last 7 days. My emotions are all over the place. I feel so desperate and the waiting is going to kill me! Help!

otters2017 · 23/04/2017 20:49

Forgot to say it's day 20 today if it makes any difference.

Ktmp · 23/04/2017 21:17

Not much help sorry otters. Mine doesn't sound the same as yours, mine will say low, high or peak so not sure what flashing smileys relates to? I half 17 days of high readings last month and currently on my fourth day of high this month. It does say you can miss your peak because there's potentially a 12 hour window, so if you're only testing first thing you'll miss it. I also read on one thread that if it does miss it then you'll just keep getting high.

otters2017 · 23/04/2017 22:17

The clear blue ones either have a round circle (negative), flashing smileys which mean high and a static smiley which is peak. I've never seen a static smiley. It's so frustrating when I just don't know what's going on with my body!! Was so hopeful that the clomid would have worked but it's looking less likely. I've started researching some ivf options but it's just so depressing!

Ktmp · 24/04/2017 05:27

Ah ok! We're in exactly the same boat then. It's complete crap isn't it?! I remember taking my first month of clomid, reading all the success stories I could, and thinking it was the magic we needed.
Do your tests go in a monitor or just have the screen on them? I read that they do take a while to get to know your cycles. 🤞

SummerHopin · 24/04/2017 10:06

ktmp this might sound like a weird question but what led to you being put on clomid? I thought that it came after finding a lack of ovulation - did they test you to find that that was the issue?

The level of testing / monitoring and even treatment seems to be such a postcode lottery!

Ktmp · 24/04/2017 16:09

Summer it was because after stopping depo and actively trying since Dec 2014, nothing happened. My periods started again in the summer of 2015 and I generally had cycles of 10-14 days for a year. They tried to do a day 21 blood test but just told me to count from the next cycle (ignoring if I started again before day 21), this gave me a score of 2 so they said I wasn't ovulating and started me on 50mg Clomid. My 21 day bloods after round 1 of Clomid had a result of 27 but these were done on day 24. I'm still hopeful that I an actually ovulating as there's nothing to suggest I wouldn't be from what they've told me. If I was at the start of the prescription again I think I would be insisting on more tests as I've seen on here. It annoys me that it is such a postcode lottery as it would relieve so much of the anxiety if they'd repeated bloods or scanned me.

Whereabouts is everyone based and what do you get?

Footy1 · 24/04/2017 17:48

I'm in Kent and I was only offered scan and bloods at the start. I wasn't ovulating and had no periods when I stopped the pill in Jan 2016. Haven't ovulated every clomid cycle but am just hanging on to that hope I will get a chance. My cousin had clomid for 6 months unsuccessful and then had a 3 month break. She then bought online for a further 3 months and on the last cycle became pregnant and now has a lovely 1year old. I don't qualify for any other help, as have 2x ds's and my age. So I'm tempted to have a break after my last presciped clomid next cycle and do the same as my cousin. Fingers crossed.

OP posts:
Footy1 · 24/04/2017 17:51

I had used the cb digital ovulation monitor when i started trying but was put off as I got the flashing smileys and a static one but still didn't ovulate!! It just picks up surge which happens before ovulation. I just temp and check cervix.

OP posts:
Ktmp · 24/04/2017 18:05

How did you know you definitely didn't ovulate Footy?

I've had two months break between 50mg and 100mg and will have two months until my July appointment. Will keep fingers crossed 🤞
