Excellent news Summer!!! Really wish they did scans at my hospital, must be a relief to know things are happening!

penguinsandotters · 11/04/2017 14:10

Brilliant news summer so pleased for you. I've got a day 9 scan tomorrow - couldn't get a scan any other day. Really hoping that there are some follicles there as I won't be able to have a follow up scan. Just curious have you been advised to dtd every day or EOD?

SummerHopin · 11/04/2017 14:29

Thanks ladies. Yes it is a relief.

penguins good luck at your scan, but if it is day 9 then be ready for there to possibly not be much going on. My 11 day scan was supposed to have a mature follicle on clomid, and because it didnt we pretty much thought that it was a fail. Turns out it was just too early.
I googled follicle sizes and found lots of info saying that clomid makes you really regular and so if theres nothing by day 11-12 then probably nothing.....but it turns out it was just late happening.
Let us know how you get on.

SummerHopin · 11/04/2017 14:30

Re. DTD we have been advised EOD for the next week. My estimated ovulation day is Saturday so might sneak an extra one in over the weekend, but the nurse advised EOD over ED because quality of sperm does reduce quite a bit going from EOD to ED.

penguinsandotters · 11/04/2017 14:46

We dtd ED last cycle but obviously wasn't a successful cycle. I have been wondering if ED is too much as have read about sperm quality but thought it didn't matter if sperm count is normal. I also read about the egg only lasting 12-24 hours so was worried that we'd miss a golden window if it's EOD. If I know when I'm going to ovulate I will also sneak in an extra one just to be sure Blush

SummerHopin · 11/04/2017 15:05

Has your DP had an SA? My DH had a glowing report on all counts but there was a level of antibodies which can cause sperm to stick and find it hard to move. All the people we spoke to said that we would be fine to conceive on those results, but apparently DTD more often is a good way of keeping antibodies at bay.....so in my mind I'm thinking we want to be on the 'more often than not' side of doing it EOD.

.......basically there'll probably be an element of panic shagging at the weekend! lol Grin

knrthomas · 11/04/2017 16:07

I had a really weird first month... i was crazily dizzy... and think it must have been just my body getting used to it. I went straight on to 100mg of clomid.
I am now on month 3 and other than feeling a bit hormonal from time to time and feeling like i am always hot, i feel fine!

Just soooo hoping it works!! Follow up appointment not till next month. had 2 blood tests but not been given results so i am hoping that it is working.

anyone else with the NHS and been put on clomid and then just left to yourself for a few months?

I see quite a lot of people getting scanned and all sorts!

penguinsandotters · 11/04/2017 19:05

summer yes my DH had a SA and it was normal

I felt a little dizzy on 150mg but nothing too bad. I had to really push for a scan and day 21 progesterone. I think it's very variable what you get depending on where you live

SummerHopin · 12/04/2017 10:21

penguins thats good news.

So you dont have any PCOS symptoms or anything then as to why you dont ovulate? Have you had an AMH test for your ovarian reserve? (sorry if you've already said this, I joined this thread a little late).

penguinsandotters · 12/04/2017 12:11

summer I don't have PCOS. looks like unexplained reason for not ovulating. Everything else seems normal. I had an AMH which was low for my age so even more depressing as time is running out. If clomid doesn't work then it's on to IVF but no guarantees that it will work. Sigh. My scan is this evening so really hope there's something there!

Ktmp · 12/04/2017 18:47

I'm the same, no PCOS or other issues identified.

Currently day 26 here. No test required on the clearblue today after my first low yesterday so no peak on this cycle. Driving myself crazy reading positive stories about this now. Was actually nice not to have to poas though. Guess the waiting begins again.

SummerHopin · 12/04/2017 18:56

Sorry to hear that ktmp. How many rounds of clomid do you have on you?

Ktmp · 12/04/2017 19:35

I've done 3 at 50mg and have had 2 of 100mg so 1 more left (which I hopefully won't need!) My next appointment is July and that's for an IVF referral.

penguinsandotters · 12/04/2017 20:29

ktmp fingers crossed this is your month! When are you testing?

So I had my follicle tracking scan and it's good news Smile I've got quite a few follicles growing, 3 on the right and 2 on the left. Not sure if it's too many but am definitely going ahead with TTC. All of the probably won't grow and I may not even ovulate so I don't think it will be too risky. Wish I could have another scan next week to check but I can't unless I pay privately. Will have to wait for day 21 progesterone blood test to find out if I ovulated or not.

Footy1 · 12/04/2017 21:44

Hey ladies sorry been very busy over Easter hols so been hard to catch up. Hope all is well with You all and that you are enjoying the Easter break so far.

Cd18Star still not blooming ovulating! Grrrr
Bit fed up...
We dtd eod as advised by fertility consultant.
I don't have any scans- just left to me now.
Guess it's not happening this cycle huh?

No cramps at all- I'm puzzled!
Temp low..

Welcome knr yes I was put on clomid and left to just see what happens! Useless

I really hope so too penguins, literally everyone around me is announcing pregnancies at the moment. I went to my nephew's birthday at the weekend (sister in law is pregnant again) and two other women turned up who were also pregnant. Had to keep fighting the urge to cry when people kept doing the "better get a move on" comments.

I'm not going to test until next week if no AF. Driven myself crazy testing early before and would rather the disappointment of AF arriving than seeing a bfn. Also still have the 65 day cycle looming in my memory so really not ready to see multiple bfns if it's just another long cycle. Have had a few potential symptoms today - boobs were tingling and heaviness, don't usually get anything like that so fingers crossed. Feeling hopeful that we've timed BD right this cycle as we did every other day from day 7 to day 23 and again today (cd26) for good luck!

otters2017 · 13/04/2017 07:07

Morning all

I changed my username from penguinsandotters to otters2017 as there was another penguin on another thread I'm on and it's too confusing.

Hope you're enjoying the Easter break footy

ktmp I think if you can resist then wait a week to test. Will be keeping fingers firmly crossed for you!

The whole TTC process is such an emotional rollercoaster. It's so frustrating not knowing what's going on. Really hope it works out for all of us. Fx for lots of BFPs for all Smile

KP86 · 13/04/2017 07:17

Otters, a friend of mine had two eggs released which she knew about (it wasn't clomid but the injectable that you have before IVF stage so lots of scans) and ended up with twins. Apparently she'd not considered the possibility at all!

Good luck.

I think I'm going to test today. Should be 10-11DPO.

KP86 · 13/04/2017 07:35

Negative, as expected. I don't hold out much hope for this cycle anyway. I have a dr appt in a couple of weeks to get more clomid in case I need it.

SummerHopin · 13/04/2017 10:05

Sorry to hear that KP, why is it that you're not holding out hope for this cycle? DId something happen or are you just not feeling it?

At least you've got your doc appointment all ready to go so you wont have long to wait.

KP86 · 13/04/2017 10:18

I didn't take clomid this time so no guarantees of OV. Just think I probably did due to two positive OPKs. And we only DTD twice. I know that's all it takes.

Not out until I'm out but I know I'm not in with the best chance. Next Monday will be six weeks since last period and no symptoms so far that it's on its way.

otters2017 · 13/04/2017 10:25

kp sorry about the negative. There's still hope! When is your doctors appointment and what's the next step?

Ktmp · 13/04/2017 10:34

Gutted for you KP. Having never been pregnant before I'm scared of just symptom spotting and everyone I've spoken to says they just knew. Makes me doubt anything I feel.

Has anyone tried progesterone cream? My order arrived today and just used it for the first time.

SummerHopin · 13/04/2017 10:54

Not tried it ktmp - is that for after ovulation? WHen would you use it?

Also, I've got a progesterone blood test next week and then I phone in for the result. What result will it be? Will they give me a number and depending on that number it will say if I ovulated? I've not been at this stage before so not sure.

otters2017 · 13/04/2017 11:41

ktmp what is the progesterone cream for? My progesterone blood levels are really low but was told it's because I'm not ovulating. No mention of getting a cream!

summer the progesterone blood test usually done on day 21 is to see if you've ovulated or not. A result above 30 confirms ovulation. Good luck with your test!
