SLady my periods are classed as regular by my consultant but can range anywhere between 26 and 42 days which probably matches up to the not ovulating! I have had every test so far including HSG and the only thing that has shown up from all of them is low progesterone. So if clomid doesn't work for me the next route is IVF. I'm hoping that it doesn't come to that and that we get a BFP in the next 6 months but whatever will be, will be.

SLady · 12/08/2017 10:18

That's exciting so it won't be long until you can start clomid. Are you taking days 2-6? I was hoping for injectables or letzerole or something before IVF, seems like IVF is an option which comes around too quickly eeks but like you say whatever will be will be! As long as we get a bfp in the end. Not being monitored has it's advantages in that you can just live your normal life, no hospital appts etc, not having to take time off. With fairly regular periods I think you've got a good chance of it working quickly :) my hormones are all over the place having pcos but like you my only issue is ovulation. FX for us both Star

brighteye3986 · 12/08/2017 10:45

Yes days 2-6. I'm quite glad it's only got to be taken for a few days each cycle rather than constantly too. Oh and yes to now having at least 6 months off of hospital appointments except for blood tests and not having to use leave etc. I have a holiday booked for October as we both decided it would be good for us as all this was already starting to take it's toll on us and this is only the start! So we have a week of lounging by the pool/ beach to look forward to! Hopefully be then I will also be on or would have finished my second cycle of clomid too Smile

I have my FX for everyone who is struggling/ having issues.

Peanuts88 · 12/08/2017 17:50

Hi all! Just got back from holiday. Hope everyone is well and welcome to brighteye, happy, and slady! I am about halfway through cycle 2 on clomid- although pretty sure we didn't succeed this month as we were at my parents house for part of our holiday which made DTD pretty awkward/difficult!!!!! Oh well.

Re clomid symptoms- I had a bit of a spot break-out this month which is super weird as I've NEVER had spots (I have super dry skin!)- and I had about 5 at the same time- so I think that is maybe Clomid related. Joys!

Anywho hope you're all well and fingers crossed for some BFPs!!!!!!

brighteye3986 · 13/08/2017 11:47

Hi peanuts! Hope you had a nice holiday. Don't give up hope though.. you never know!

Thanks for your update on symptoms- I get breakouts around AF so hopefully that won't get worse! My consultant did advise of some symptoms but I'm sure the symptoms on clomid are going to be multiplied once we get our BFPs!!

Wishing you all the best x

SLady · 14/08/2017 12:39

Hi peanuts what dose of Clomid are you on? I'm going to pick up my 100mg today, really hoping this dose works. AF never arrived so need to start norethisterone first...i hate this bit!

Blondienut · 14/08/2017 19:04

Hi all.....

Isn't everything a wait?! Waiting for your period to come to start taking clomid, waiting for your period to be over, waiting for your fertile window, waiting in the 2ww, waiting for your period not to come and then crushing sadness when it does come and so the waiting starts again!

Glad you had appointment ktmp ... welcome to all the other ladies. I'm
On CD24 of 2nd clomid cycle. 1st cycle went well in that my day 21 progesterone was 76! Previous had been 14! I was monitored for first cycle so no need for anymore although I did take 75mg this cycle 😬 Naughty me but I figured as I have such a low amh there's no fear I'm going to over produce!
My cycles have been between 24-31 days. I have awful heartburn but I'm trying not to have any expectations. Think I will test on Friday (CD28) if af doesn't arrive before then.

Someone asked about side effects - mine were hot flushes, vivid dreams and funny eyes - kind of cloudy!

Keep going ladies, hopefully it will be worth it

SLady · 14/08/2017 20:46

Wow that's a great result blondie my cd21 progesterone was less than 1 on 50mg 😂 waaahhh. fml!
So true it is actually just a waiting game. I've done 2 months and it really gets to you after a while!
How did you take 75mg? I've just been given two months of 100mg and I joked about just taking 150mg this cycle but then I wouldn't have any tablets left for round 4.
I haven't really had any symptoms on Clomid but that might change now I've upped my dose

SLady · 14/08/2017 20:47

FX for Friday blondie

Blondienut · 14/08/2017 21:05

Thank you!
The Dr prescribed me a pack of clomid not sure how many in box but more than we need as we plan only trying 3 cycles before moving on so I just took a tablet and a half ! My AMH is very low so there is no time to hang around before ivf .

Hopefully your progesterone will be better on higher dose ...

SLady · 14/08/2017 21:31

Oh I see blondie I'm going the full 6 cycles and they only give me two months at a time. It's so annoying as even though the 50mg didn't work first time I had to do it again for another month! I know fingers crossed, really hoping the 100mg works!!

Ktmp · 16/08/2017 20:16

Hello everyone, just checking in 👋

Have a feeling I may be getting baby bombed tomorrow, meeting a friend who told me a few months ago that she'll probably have kids before her and her partner get married and now she wants a catch up! Also was out buying baby presents for my new nephew who's being delivered by section a week today so really fighting to stay positive at the moment.

Currently CD31 and have had small amounts of brown discharge for the past six days. Keep thinking AF is arriving but no sign yet. Not getting my hopes up though.

How's everyone getting on?

@Blondie are you still planning on testing on Friday?

brighteye3986 · 16/08/2017 20:36

Keeping my fingers crossed for you ktmp.
How long are your cycles normally?

I am patiently waiting to be able to start my first round of 50mg of clomid. I'm currently on Cd 17 so hopefully will be able to start in the next couple of weeks depending on how long this cycles decides it wants to be!

Ktmp · 16/08/2017 20:44

Will they give you anything to start your cycle @brighteye?

I've attached a summary of my last cycles. I must have analysed these a million times and I'm none the wiser. Funny that I actually got referred to gynae for having cycles of 10-14 days and now they seem more 'normal and nothing is happening. There is a bit of empowerment in not testing though. I remember the need to test as early as I could and being so disappointed. Guess now I'm just waiting for the ivf appointment I'm switching off from it a bit more.

Clomid - hoping for bfp's
Blondienut · 16/08/2017 22:22

Hi ktmp I don't think I'm going to test or plan to test as have started having period pains and feel mega pre menstral ! CD 26 cycles anything between 18-31 days. Heartburn galore but really not expecting anything positive out of this cycle. So hard for you with the baby news all around 🌺
Do you ever just think it's too good to be true and it's not going to happen- sorry for negative vibes just fed up tonight

brighteye3986 · 17/08/2017 05:55

@Ktmp no they won't give me anything as my cycles are considered normal, ranging anywhere from 26-42 days. Although last 3 seem to be sorting themselves out with 28, 33 and 29! Bearing this in mind, I think AF is due around end of August/ 1st week of September.

Ktmp · 17/08/2017 08:36

@Blondie totally tell myself it's not going to happen all the time. DH is always ridiculously positive though so I feel awful thinking it. I just remind myself how many people do struggle and I'm sure the number outweighs the people who just magically fall pregnant! 🤞

Peanuts88 · 17/08/2017 21:50

Hi girls! Reading this thread always makes me feel better as every time, someone has written exactly what I'm thinking!!
Blondie I'm CD 26 today, so similar cycle to you, is this also your second on Clomid? I feel a bit fed up today too- just losing hope and also started feeling some cramps and general pms-y Sad...
ktmp my DH is the same- always optimistic- thank god- I always worry about how hard this must be on him too.
brighteye good luck for this cycle!!! FX AF doesn't come Smile

At least it's Friday tomorrow!!!! Halo

Blondienut · 17/08/2017 22:07

Yes my 2nd cycle and feeling cramps too! Snap! How about you peanuts is this your second? How long are your cycles normally?

Peanuts88 · 18/08/2017 07:27

Mine are about 28-31 days normally- my first clomid cycle was a little shorter at 27... so it's probably on its way Hmm yep this was my second too. I was only given 3 months then another appointment to review - it all just takes so long and I'm so impatient! I was really hoping the clomid would just work! Haha!

Blondienut · 18/08/2017 11:36

I'm only doing 3 months too- so we are pretty similar ! Have you thought about next stage ?

Ktmp · 18/08/2017 18:35

@Blondie and @peanut are you guys both doing 50mg? I had to do 3 rounds then review and literally was just given 100mg for the next 3 rounds.

Seeking a little advice if possible? I'm currently cd33 or at least I think I am! The reason for the confusion is that for the last 8 days I've had brown discharge (sorry if tmi 🙈) It's enough to put a liner on but literally just dark brown with no hint of red. All my googling historically has taught me that cd1 is the first day of red flow and this really isn't even slightly red or flow like. I've had this kind of discharge in the past but only at the start of end of AF and never for this long.

Current extensive googling has provided me with the following possibilities:

  1. BFP - wishful thinking 🤞
  2. Implantation bleeding (but would be very late)
  3. Ectopic pregnancy (scared 😮)
  4. Low progesterone (most likely but still weird for length of time)

I've promised myself not to get caught up in testing due to the crashing back to earth with a BFN but now I'm getting a bit worried. This was the first month of switching off, no vitamins, temping, opks or regimented bding. Actually BD on CD7, CD9, CD11-19 and CD21 so basically covered all bases in terms of timing!

What you ladies do in my position?

Blondienut · 18/08/2017 18:55

I would test personally to put my mind at rest cause it's so hard not knowing. I think implantation bleeding only lasts a day or two but who knows , our bodies can be so unpredictable. How many days are your cycles normally - any other symptoms. I think the clomid can change our 'normal' cycles too .... fingers crossed

Ktmp · 18/08/2017 19:06

@Blondie I'm not on any Clomid now. I last had it in April. My cycles started originally between 10 and 14 days then seemed to average out between 24-27 days and in the last year have been everything from 24-34 with one 13 and one 65 thrown in just to add to the confusion! Why is it so hard?! 😢

brighteye3986 · 19/08/2017 08:16

@Ktmp it could be implantation bleeding especially if it's dark brown. I would do a test... I know you don't want the heartbreak but it would put your mind at ease and you never know this could be your time! FX for you.
