Hey guys had a busy weekend! Hope you had a great birthday Ktmp? Hope you were spoilt rotten!

Otters I don't usually ovulate on my own but I think I may have this month, I have had all the sign to be fair 🤞
Ooo I've never been to Germany, would love to go. You will have a much deserved break 👍 I bet your looking forward to it.

Welcome boatrace! ** I was seeing my PCOS doctor for 18 months while ttc but they wouldn't help as I'm overweight on paper so we went private and now on 2nd cycle of clomid.£500 seems a bit steep but may depend on where in UK you are, we pay £350 a month for scans privately.

Hope you all good. Just off for the 4th scan so wish me luck!

boatrace30 · 03/07/2017 07:59

We're on the south coast, so not London but a wealthy area I guess, will maybe have to look for another clinic if that's the difference every month.
I'm just overweight according to bmi - so maybe I'll be in the same boat. Frustrating as that's also not exactly helped by pcos Sad
Fingers crossed you ovulated!

otters2017 · 03/07/2017 08:36

Good luck for your scan today gands

gands88 · 03/07/2017 08:55

Boatrace yeah same here, I'm also just over which is annoying, they will probs tell you to try lose some weight and come back, I had lost 2 and half stone, I am still just over the BMI requirements but like you said having PCOS doesn't help that situation 😒 I hope you get what you want when you go for your appointment 🤞

Soooooo The scan went well, I did ovulate on my own so will have to wait and see what happens! 😁 me and hubby are feeling positive.

boatrace30 · 03/07/2017 09:31

How annoying, particularly as you'd lost so much.
I'm literally borderline, if I'm weighed first thing with no clothes then I'm normal weight, clothes on, later in day overweight!

I think I'll fast on Thursday and I might just manage it!!

boatrace30 · 03/07/2017 09:32

And great news that you ovulated 👍🏻, fingers crossed for you now 🤞

otters2017 · 03/07/2017 13:33

gands great news that you ovulated on your own. Now for the 2WW. Fx for you!

boatrace good luck with your appointment. You sound like you're very borderline with the bmi so I'm sure you'll be fine.

It's CD 30 today (longest cycle 31days) and still no sign of AF. Think I'll test with FRER tomorrow if no AF. Still getting lots of discharge post procedure. Hope it doesn't upset anything going on inside. It's so hard not knowing!

Hello ladies, just trying to catch up on everything here. Who used the word limbo....that is such an accurate description of how this fertility journey is!

I had my tracking scan day 12 today. A bit pathetic- 1 x 10mm and 1x 11mm follicle which the nurse didn't seem very optimistic about them growing to full potential. Backagain on Friday when I will be Day 16 so really hoping they will have grown and I will have positive news then. I am refusing to be discouraged! There is noting today they won't grow!

Someone (can't remember who) was asking about clomid privately. It costs less than 20quid for tablets and iwas fortunate enough to have my scans free! I too have a high bmi at 30.5 but I've worked hard to get it therefrom 38. The consultant had no problem precsibing me it with bmi of 30.5, I think she realises ive put in a lot of work on lifestyle changes.

Anyone taking DHEA?i d just ordered some tohelp with the quality of what I do have left!

Ktmp · 03/07/2017 17:01

Hi ladies!!

Excellent news about the ovulation gands! Very jealous!

Can't remember who asked about tracking etc but thought I'd just share my rubbish experience - basically a prescription and an appointment in four months!

Keeping my fingers crossed for a bfp otters!

Thanks for all the happy birthday wishes, I had a lovely weekend!

Back to earth with a bump today - they've cancelled my appointment on Wednesday 😭. Apparently no consultant available so they've cancelled the full clinic. They've booked me in for another appointment on 21st and said if they rearrange the clinic earlier they'll fit me in. Honestly so gutted! Will it ever be my turn?!

Hortonlovesahoo · 03/07/2017 18:18

Gands: congrats on the ovulation!!

Ktmp: thats frustrating! Hopefully they'll be able to get the clinic sorted earlier for you.

Have any of you ever tried acupuncture with taking clomid? Had my first session today and not sure how much I believe

boatrace30 · 03/07/2017 19:20

ktmp that sounds rubbish. Have you considered paying for a private scan? I was looking into that today as a friend mentioned she was having an early pregnancy one - but they also do follicle tracking and stuff like that.

To be honest I'd take anything. I saw on another forum that someone at my specific clinic said the first appointment was just to discuss eligibility for funding. As we already have a DC I know I'm not eligible for much, so if I've hung around for months just to be told this I'll be really p*ed off! Why couldn't my GP do that.

Anyway, just need to wait for Thursday, this week is going agonizingly slowly. ktmp - I feel for you. I would not cope well if they cancelled my appointment.

otters2017 · 03/07/2017 19:22

Hi blondie nice to hear from you again. I talked about being in limbo which is still my current state! Sorry your scan wasn't great but hopefully they will grow further

ktmp sorry they've cancelled your clinic at short notice! It will be your turn soon. Keep the hope!

horton I've never tried acupuncture but have heard it can be beneficial to fertility especially for ivf which is our next step. Might investigate it but. It sure how much I believe in it and also I think it's a bit expensive ? Will be keen to hear your thoughts

Hortonlovesahoo · 03/07/2017 19:52

Otter - I'm paying 55EUR a session but I could get some of that back on insurance. My sister is paying 35GBP a session for hers in Somerset. I'll keep you updated. My sister says it makes her really sleepy. I was yawning a lot this morning and I felt some aches in my belly but i'm not sure how much is actually real and how much is in my head?

Blondie - I hope that they do grow!

Ktmp · 03/07/2017 19:55

Thanks everyone, feeling properly down. Allowing myself to hope that I'll get a bfp before the appointment. 🤞

Boatrace - I didn't even know tracking/scans existed until coming on here and I'm now all out of Clomid chances after 6 failed cycles. The appointment this week was going to be the ivf referral.

Horton - I've read a few things about acupuncture for ttc and they've always been quite mixed. I had it years ago for migraine and it was successful for that (8 months without a migraine which is massive for me). Expense put a stop to it though. May try again if we end up having IVF.

otters2017 · 04/07/2017 19:49

So I got a BFP this morning!! It's a faint line on an FRER but it's definitely there. I still can't quite believe it and it was such an emotional experience. I cried and cried and cried and DH was overjoyed as well. We are being cautiously optimistic. I have so many worries and fears but I'm trying to just enjoy the moment.
I'm going to hang around here for a while and see how everyone is doing. I'm also going to poas everyday until I get a proper solid line!

Clomid - hoping for bfp's
Hortonlovesahoo · 04/07/2017 20:05

Otters!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!! Oh! I'm so happy for you!

gands88 · 04/07/2017 20:19

Otters that's brill news!!!! So happy for you!!

Hope everyone is doing well. I've been having a lot of pains this month 😒 how do everyone else get on with the pains? Is it normal? I didn't really get this many last month?

Ktmp · 04/07/2017 20:33

Oh otters I'm so pleased!!! Congratulations! Please stay around! Your story was so much like mine I'll need you to keep me on track!

otters2017 · 04/07/2017 22:20

Thanks all. We went out for a quiet celebratory meal with the mantra of "today we're pregnant. Tomorrow is another day" I'm still in shock and disbelief and wonder if I've imagined it. I have to order more FRER so will test again on thurs.

ktmp I really hope you get your BFP soon. It's been such a long and stressful journey. I hope it gives some of you hope that it is possible and you will get your BFP one day 🤞

boatrace30 · 05/07/2017 07:51

Wow! Big congratulations!

Blondienut · 05/07/2017 16:46

Brilliant news, so happy for you. X

Hortonlovesahoo · 06/07/2017 19:55

Currently on Day 36 of my cycle and a negative test from me :( Trying to not get disappointed and focus on what's to come so we'll see what happens.

boatrace30 · 06/07/2017 21:25

I had my appointment today and was prescribed Clomid! 50mg for three months, with option to increase to 100mg if it doesn't work.
Interestingly my consultant was anti-tracking. He said the only real reason was to prevent multiples but in 30years of prescribing it he had had one set of triplets. He did advise that twins are a risk (I'm okay with that),
He wanted me to stop all temping, opks and tracking and just see what happens.

Hortonlovesahoo · 06/07/2017 21:45

Fantastic news Boat!! Hopefully you won't need too many months of it!

Out of interest to everyone: have you had your iron checked whilst you've been trying to conceive? A friend recommended to get my iron checked as she said it can help

boatrace30 · 06/07/2017 22:00

I haven't actually but have suffered with low iron on the past. Maybe I should just take some supplements. Won't do any harm!
