Hi guys, just wanted to say hi and let you know I'm still kicking about in the background.

FWIW we didnt really do the whole first thing in the morning thing. I would say the majority of our ttc was in the evening or just before bed so I'm afraid I put that theory out the window a bit. I dont think it matters too much about the time of day - just do it, but dont overdo it!

Also Footy - its not too late. I ovulated on cd20-21 on clomid so I'd say you've got another week before you're out.

otters2017 · 17/05/2017 22:25

Managed to get the early morning session in but it was very early as DH had to go to work.
I'm CD 14 so right behind you footy and no signs of ovulation yet. Trying not to stress but it's getting difficult!!
Nice to hear from you summer will be grateful for your words of wisdom and a progress report.

Ktmp · 18/05/2017 06:28

Hi Summer!! Hope you're feeling ok?

Cd6 here and two bd sessions in already. Giving it everything I can do this month before the ivf referral appointment, would love to not need it!

We did an am bd this morning (5am 😪). Roll on the weekend!!

Been meaning to share something with this group! In my mad googling phases I found a mumsnet thread that went across 3 or 4 different threads (900 messages plus in each one). Initially started scanning through as it was about symptom spotting around ovulation/tww. Anyway, it ended up like watching a tv series as I got drawn in to the ups and downs of the group as the messages spanned a couple of years. Really hope we'll see lots more bfps in our little thread!

otters2017 · 18/05/2017 07:45

Finally got a flashing smiley this morning but the ic opk was negative. Anyway I've texted DH as he's out for a work do tonight to say one drink only then make excuses to get home. He has an important job to do!!

ktmp I was a like that too with my mad googling phase. DH was getting a bit worried for a while. I've stuck to a few threads now and find the support invaluable. It's amazing how caught up you can get and how many hours you can spend reading!

Have a good day everyone Smile

SummerHopin · 18/05/2017 13:32

KT - hiya. I'm doing well thanks - my symptoms have pretty much dried up so I keep flicking between forgetting I am pregnant (sounds flippant, it isnt) and panicking something has gone wrong. I have my 8 week scan next Tuesday so hoping I will get some relief then.

I have done similar with getting into old threads. I am on a PCOS thread and I joined it on the 4th one so I went back and read 1-3 in total one evening - it took ages! I also visualise how each person on each thread looks - i dont know why!

Otters congrats on the OPK - good that you did a non IC test too as (cant remember if I already said this - sorry if I have!) but I took an IC pregnancy test back at the start and it was completely blank i.e. 100% negative and that was after 4 positives! I did another one 2 weeks later (just so I could see what the IC was doing) and there was a faint line when the CB digi said 3+ weeks! I know its expensive but I now dont really believe in ICs at all. Not when the stakes are so high.

I also get why the nurse told me not to do OPKs at all (easier said than done but that was her advice) as a dudd OPK can make you think you're not O'g when you are - she said many cases of BFNs are simply people DTDing at the wrong time - i.e. thinking they've already Od when they havent and vice versa.

Hello everyone

I hope you don't mind me coming on here and asking for a bit of clomid related advice...

Have previously had 2 failed IVF cycles but in the meantime before our next go, my consultant has prescribed me clomid with progesterone injections for the luteal phase just to give things a boost a bit more naturally. However I took my prescription in to Asda and they've just called to say there is a shortage of clomid?? Have any of you had any issues with this?

Hope you don't mind me jumping on here to ask this but my other local pharmacies are closed now and I'm stressing I won't have it in time. x

otters2017 · 20/05/2017 15:45

Hi sunshinegirl sorry that ivf didn't work for you, hope that clomid will. I don't know about clomid shortages as I'm waiting for an appointment next week to get another prescription.

How's everyone else doing? Still getting flashing smileys so will continue dtd for now. The ic opks are still negative which is strange. DH has now sprained his back gardening so no dtd from now. Argh!!

doobeedee · 20/05/2017 16:22

Hi, I was googling this and came across your thread. I had the same issue last week. Apparently some pharmacies are having supply issues Lloyds included. I got mine from an independent up the road. They ordered it in in 1 day. You could also try online, if there's time before you need to start it.

Footy1 · 20/05/2017 17:36

I got mine prescribed and got it in my local hospital pharmacy. Maybe worth trying?

OP posts:
sunshinegirl12 · 20/05/2017 19:46

Thanks everyone, rang round quite a few pharmacies who were having problems getting it in but luckily managed to find somewhere that had it in stock. Smile

otters2017 · 21/05/2017 12:03

I'm hoping to get a hospital prescription next week. Hopefully they are in stock there!
How's the weekend been for everyone?

Footy1 · 22/05/2017 20:11

Haven't had a great weekend tbh😣
Dh is not playing ball so I'm feeling quite frustrated.
My nipples are feeling a bit sensitive so not really sure if I ovulated or not. I guess time will tell..

So where is everyone up to? Anyone near testing time?

OP posts:
Ktmp · 23/05/2017 16:34

Hello! Quick update from me - currently cd11, been testing on clearblue since cd7 and still low. Hoping that means that it's being more accurate after last month's epic amount of highs 🤔.

I've had the same with DH not playing ball Footy. Had a full melt down once when I had a strong opk positive and he was tired. Was slightly psycho 😂.

otters2017 · 23/05/2017 22:13

footy sorry to hear that DH isn't playing ball and ktmp too.
I'm CD 20 and have been getting flashing smileys for the last 6 days but negatives on the ic opks. I think I'll just stop testing. Was hoping I ovulated over the weekend as had lots of twinges and aches on my left side. No CM this cycle which is a little weird. Anyway will have a blood test tomorrow and have my consultant appointment on Thursday.

Footy1 · 24/05/2017 11:20

Cd23StarMy boobs were hurting last night and bit tender today, temp staying around the same for past few days so maybe I have ovulated after all? Dh and I are not talking much so I haven't been really focussed. But u never know...?

Hope you have ovulated otters, and u get a good blood result.

Kt yes I've had a few meltdowns too over dtd with Dh. Seems to be typical he wants it any other time than ovulation days!

OP posts:
otters2017 · 24/05/2017 20:15

Fingers crossed footy as you said, you just never know.
Had my blood test today but won't know result till tomorrow. Feeling anxious and nervous about appointment tomorrow but also a little excited.

Ktmp · 24/05/2017 21:09

Good luck otters!

Londonjam · 26/05/2017 10:42

Hello, can I please join?

Cycle 19 TTC#1, had all the tests and waiting on IVF.

I've bought clomid online as consultant refused to prescribe, so I'm feeling quite nervous about taking it. I already ovulate naturally every month.

I'm going to start off with 25mg from days 2-6.

How have people found the side effects? I'm a bit worried about hot flushes with this hot weather

otters2017 · 26/05/2017 20:18

Welcome londonjam. I think we've 'met' on another thread. Are you hoping the clomid will increase egg quality. I was really fortunate and didn't get any side effects. Was told it's best to take it at night to "sleep off" any side effects. Good luck and do let us know how you get on.

footy kt ktmp how are you lot doing?

So D21 bloods this month showed progesterone of 12! That's even worse than last month. I'm hoping that it's the wrong time as I may have ovulated a few days before the blood test but tbh no idea if I'm ovulating or not. So had my consultant appointment and he basically said clomid isn't working so ivf next but has to be self funded as ccg don't fund it anymore!!! Sigh
I managed to persuade him to prescribe 1 more cycle of clomid so we have something whilst we decide what to do next. He didn't seem overly optimistic about our chances of success but think he was trying to manage expectations. Desperately hoping that this cycle has worked.

Ktmp · 27/05/2017 05:42

Hi londonjam! You sound at a similar point to me (although I've had Clomid prescribed since last year). I didn't experience any noticeable side effects at all and I was on 100mg and took it in the morning. Will keep fingers crossed that you get your bro before needing the Clomid as that's what I'm clinging to.

Otters I'm gutted for you. Sometimes I wish that I could pay for private healthcare to be able to repeat bloods and answer some of the annoying questions to remove the uncertainty of it all. Why won't they fund ivf?

Cd15 for me and getting really worried that it's never going to be able to happen. Still low fertility on cbfm, which is weird after the highs from last month, but this is the first month using it with no Clomid. This is making me think that there is actually nothing going on naturally so feeling a bit crap 😔.

Footy are you getting near testing?

Ktmp · 27/05/2017 05:43

*bfp not bro!!! This autocorrect is actually ridiculous sometimes!

Londonjam · 27/05/2017 10:27

Your CCG won't fund it at all otters? 😧. Have you looked into any European clinics at all? They are a LOT cheaper than the UK and some are more advanced. I hope it doesn't come to that but it's always good to know you have options

Thanks ktmp how long have you been on clomid? I woke up so hot a few times last night but that could just be the warm weather!

Footy1 · 27/05/2017 14:55

Hey jam Smile** welcome! We'll find ourselves repeating ourselves from our other thread! Lol good luck on your first clomid cycle. You may not have any side effects. I take it at night too to avoid any queasiness.
Be careful how much alcohol u have as it makes me dizzy when taking it and drinking wine.

Otters sorry your progesterone was low. Maybe like u said the timing wasn't quite right days after ovulation.
Still think that's ovulation though.

Kt I probably won't test until next week as I'm not sure when I ovulated (or if) the cramps and EWCM has stopped now so guessing I'm a few days past ovulation? Boobs are so sore, not had that in awhile.

OP posts:
Ktmp · 27/05/2017 21:08

Londonjam I've done 6 rounds of Clomid, 3 at 50mg and 3 at 100mg. Nothing now until my next appointment in July for the ivf referral which I really hope I won't need 🤞

Ktmp · 30/05/2017 06:18

Hello everyone! Hope you've enjoyed the bank holiday weekend?

Could do with some realistic advice if you ladies don't mind?

So this is my first month with no Clomid (although I did have a gap between taking 50mg and being prescribed 100mg). When I came off Depo I experienced very short cycles but they had seemed to be sorting themselves out (with the odd anomaly).

Yesterday was cd17 and I started spotting, at least I think it was spotting?! I did the great run on Sunday (cd16) and thought I saw a bit of pink when I wiped but then it got heavier on cd17. Seems to have stopped since last night and it didn't get heavier after we dtd. Cbfm is still showing low and my temps are steadily getting lower.

As per usual I have googled so many things and now have more questions than answers. Most threads confuse between ovulation or implantation bleeding, the best ones are the lovely stories where it leads to a bfp!

Anyone experience mid cycle bleeds and willing to share details? Starting to think that my short cycles could have been just spotting.
