Clomid - hoping for bfp's

Hi, thought I'd start a new thread...

My stats-

Age 39
Ttc #3
Irregular cycles
Clomid 100mg & Metformin 1000mg
Been trying for 12 months (6 on clomid)
Cd10

Bad hot flashes in the night, headaches in the morning.. no twinges yet this cycle.

Opks don't won't very well on me. Although i might try one later just to see.

Sorry Af got you otters so sorry to hear all what's been happening. Sounds awful and I'm sure ttc has been adding to all the stress. Yes good you have appt sorted, it's pretty rubbish knowing there are no next steps (for me anyway).

Kt oh no I think it's worse when u have a room on hold for decoration. Almost want u to be ultra positive and decorate it regardless but then you would be tormenting yourself. Hope your days have improved this week. Any af sign? Are u going to test?

Summer glad all going well! Pleased for you. I remember getting to that point before first scan thinking I feel a bit normal and panicked, but all was fine so try not to worry.

Still no ovulation yet?! Grrr but I'm only cd11!

Hi Footy!

Decided not to test this morning as I didn't want to be all disappointed with a long day in work. Think I've saved myself the cost of the tests though as I'm spotting 😢 Could actually burst into tears at any moment. Really hopes this was my month. Temps were still up this morning, so just enough hope to completely destroy me. Last cycle of Clomid all used up. Now it's just the wait till the July appointment for IVF. Honestly feel like giving up completely.

Sorry for the gloomy post, hope everyone else is doing much better.

Welcome holzyb sorry can't help with opks as never used those before although I've ordered lots for this cycle. Can someone please remind me what time is best to test? My cycles are fairly regular 28-30 days. Should I start testing early?

footy only day 11 so probably too early for ovulation? Fx for this cycle. What dose are you on?

ktmp sorry you feel so down, don't give up! I know exactly how you feel as the last AF really destroyed me. At least you have your ivf appointment in July. I'm still waiting to see if I can have an earlier appointment to discuss possibility of ivf. Fingers crossed it's spotting related to implantation. Sending lots of hugs and ❤

Thanks otters. Was keeping my hopes up as it was only a small amount and completely brown. Read a million forum posts about brown spotting and how it ended up being good. Just been for my umpteenth loo visit and there's definitely red 😭 May see how it is in the morning and do a test just to confirm (getting quite a stock pile!)

My appointment in July is to get the referral started. No idea how long that will take. Just feel so despondent as I've just watched my future sister in law have a failed ivf cycle so I know it's still not a light at the end of the tunnel.

I use the clearblue fertility monitor and you have to use fmu but when I did the opk sticks I'm sure I read that afternoon is best. Just make sure you don't drink too Mich liquid and hold your wee for a couple of hours before you test.

Well ladies my bad luck has tripled! This week has been the worst for a very long time - not only did I have a car accident, followed by another failed month (the last round of Clomid) but now I've just travelled across the country to see my best friend and I couldn't get hold of her. After a lot of waiting and trekking across the area trying to find out what's happened, I've just found out she's in hospital. The saying about bad luck coming in threes had better be true.

Cd 11 here. Not much going on. Will start opks from tomorrow and hope that I will ovulate this cycle. Going to try for EOD until I get a positive.

I thought clomid would shorten my cycle but it hasn't so far. Still same length and still very heavy periods!
I've been using clear blue fertility monitor but never get a peak. Usually endless days of flashing smileys. I bought some IC opks for this cycle and will use both. So far negative so will wait and see. Going to keep up EOD though until I see a positive.

Do you do EOD at the same time? I read about alternating between AM and PM so you're more every 36 hours instead of 48?

Ooh never really thought about the timing. I'm following the sperm meets egg plan which just says EOD until positive. I did wonder if ED would be ok as I sometimes worry we won't catch the egg especially as it can only survive 12 hours! Have you tried alternating am and pm?

Not yet. We've mostly done EOD in the evening apart from the odd time in the morning before work if one of us is away. Read a couple of things about sperm being better quality in the morning as well so thought it's worth a try this time. I did think that pretty much exactly 48 hours is enough time to miss the egg whereas 36 is still doable and much more chance. Tried ED a few months back and it was exhausting and really took the fun out of it. Also heard that ED can seriously affect the quality.

Yes was worried about ED affecting sperm quality. Will try for every 36 hours or so then starting tonight! Really don't want to miss the egg if it's there

Good luck too ktmp. Really really hope it's our cycle! Such a long frustrating journey.

A few other ladies I know all seemed to get their bfp with a few morning sessions thrown into the mix around ovulation so maybe there's something in it.
I find it difficult to know when I'm going to ovulate so get quite frustrated having to cover all possibilities.

Hope everyone is ok. Had a few cramps last night and a little bit of EWCM so fingers crossed. I'm cd15 today.

I'm cd16 today and still waiting to ovulate. On 100mg clomid, so you'd think I'd have ovulated by now?
