I didn't get a scan for it back in 2013, just the 21 day bloods. Which I ever officially got the results for as I got my BFP about a week later anyway.

tatatetelle · 23/10/2016 08:15

Morning!

I have just finished my first round of Clomid (50mg), entering the tww just today!

Doom, I read a lot of women recommending to take Clomid at night to avoid the side effects so that's what I did. I still had some hot flashes during the night and it kinda affected my sleep but at least I think I was my nomal self at work - although I think DH would definitely say it messed with my moods too aha!

Jelly they'll usually do a scan if they can't figure out if you're ovulating from the bloods. For instance I have pcos and only a scan can show that. Have they told you to go back for a scan on cd11 on your clomid cycle though?

doomkittycleo · 23/10/2016 09:31

Jelly, They haven't requested any scans or bloods for me. They said if the first 3 months don't work, then they'll try a further 3 months with scans.

Thanks for the advice about taking it at night tata I'll do that.

doomkittycleo · 23/10/2016 09:32

Ps I'd love to be clomid buddy's, looks like we'll only be 2-3 days apart.

tatatetelle · 24/10/2016 13:45

Hey, hope you all had a good weekend!

How is everyone?

Wantingabud did you manage to get a scan at the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit? Or see another GP?

KP, Youboogle, Purple, Littlefox, hope you're ok? Hope I haven't missed anyone, sorry if I have!!

So I've entered the wonderfully dreaded tww, ov'd on Saturday (cd13) so due to test on 6/11... let's see how long I last before starting symptom spotting!
I have a blood test to check progesterone on Friday (as part of Clomid process for me), do you think they would be able to detect an early pregnancy from that? It seems way to early as it will be cd20, but maybe a blood test can detect something a poas test can't at that point?

LittleFox10 · 24/10/2016 16:28

Hi Tata,

I'm very well thank you, yourself?

I had a blood test this morning - I am now very bruised :(

I am unsure about finding out pregnancy this early with blood test. Sorry I can't help.

I hate this waiting game. I'm not feeling very positive :( after 5 & 1/2 years trying now, just seems like it's never going to happen.

Fingers crossed for all who are awaiting results xx

KP86 · 24/10/2016 22:10

All good here, I won't be taking my tabs this month as away from DH at the expected O time (for 2+ weeks) and don't want to waste them.

I saw on another thread that I could probably use the Oxford Pharmacy to do a review and get another script so I'm no longer as stressed about the fact I have so few tabs left.

Fingers crossed for everyone else.

rubyrubes13 · 25/10/2016 09:15

I had my hy, lap and dye yesterday all clear so they I may have had gunky tubes loved the surgeons wording, seeing our specialist asap to start clomid

PurpleRainy · 25/10/2016 09:27

Im fine thanks tata. Im having a bad time at work atm just feel like jacking it all in Hmm

KP86 · 25/10/2016 11:26

That's an awful test, ruby, so I'm glad it came up clear.

rubyrubes13 · 25/10/2016 11:47

Thanks KP86, it's been a long time coming been on Mumsnet for three years trying but after DH suffering a stroke we out everything on hold but it turns out me and not him.. apparently I am not ovulating they think it could because I was injection and the pill for 15 years so just need to kick start everything

tatatetelle · 26/10/2016 14:36

Oh Littlefox I'm sorry Sad What was the blood test for? What's the next course of action for you? I have one on Friday too, not looking forward to it..

Wantingabud how are you feeling? Hope the bean is doing well?

Ruby sorry to hear about OH's stroke, I hope he recovered fully. Great that your scan came back clear though, fingers x you can start clomid asap!!

Purple I hear you!! Work is hectic here too, I don't mind the distraction though, today is dpo 4 and it feels like weeks already..!

KP it's great you can get a refill on your prescription!! Next cycle will be November then?

xx

doomkittycleo · 26/10/2016 22:48

Hi guys, I'm still lurking in the background. Not been tracking my cycles fully for the past few months cus we've been waiting to start clomid, but having ewcm so af is only a couple of weeks away.

Quite excited to start, but scared of getting hopes up prematurely. Will I be drinking this Christmas or not hmmm?

tatatetelle · 27/10/2016 10:27

Hi Doom ehe I have Christmas in my line of sight too - will I? Won't I? I was kinda hoping to be able to share some good news with my mum by then, wouldn't that be a lovely present..
But I have big fat 0 symptoms so far so I'm not keeping my hopes up for this cycle. I'm testing end of next week so will see.
If I'm out I'll probably start round 2 of Clomid about the same time as you - maybe a few days ahead, so we can definitely stick together!

doomkittycleo · 29/10/2016 11:16

Just 2 weeks to go to start clomid Confused Grin not that I'm counting or anything.

tatatetelle · 30/10/2016 22:08

Exciting stuff Doom!!! 😊

CatVO · 31/10/2016 16:04

Hello everyone - new here! Starting my second round of Clomid tomorrow with a scan booked for 11th November. Last round I did 5 days 50mg but scan showed no response, so the doc put me straight on another 5 days of 50mg, which still didn't do anything.

This round i'm doing 10 days straight - 5 days on 100mg followed by 5 days 50mg. If that doesn't work my doc has already put me on the list for ovarian drilling :-/ Trying to stay positive!

tatatetelle · 31/10/2016 17:15

Hey Cat, welcome! Good luck with round 2 - between the dose and the 10 days I hope you're not too bad with side effects! You might have done it for your first round but on many recommendations I took it in the evening and the side effects weren't too bad. It did affect my sleep a little but at least I felt like a functional human being at work.

CatVO · 31/10/2016 22:25

Thanks tatatetelle - yes, I was really worried after reading about the symptoms before I first went on clomid, but the 50mg gave me no symptoms whatsoever. I think that was partly why I wasn't surprised it hear didn't work. I took that in the morning, but think I will try taking it at night this time. Have you just had the one round so far, too? What dose did you take?

tatatetelle · 01/11/2016 08:27

Yes I finished round 1, waiting to test on Saturday 😊 I took 50mg for 5 days and luckily it did the trick!

fortifiedwithtea · 01/11/2016 08:53

Hi everyone, just posting a positive story my clomid baby is now 14 years old :)

I hated clomid. had months on end of it. It made me feel crap and the headaches were hell. I didn't have blood tests and scans, I wonder if the medical people have refined the treatment since I went through it. I was having periods every 3 weeks and my hormone levels were not high enough to ovulate.

Eventually I was given a blood test that showed my hormone levels were too high. I was told to have a 2 month break from clomid to bring the levels down, have 3 more cycles of clomid and if that didn't work I was to have the sort of IVF where the sperm is injected into the egg.

However during the period off clomid we had to have the test where you dtd and then they draw off some sperm to look at it under the microscope. I think that is to check sperm mobility. Lucky for us that test resulted in DD2. Means we know exactly what day she was conceived and remember it was the most functional sex ever. Set alarm clock for stupid early, shower, dtd, dress, go to hospital.

Good luck to everyone trying.

CatVO · 01/11/2016 09:13

tatatetelle wishing you all the luck in the world for testing!! Great that 50mg worked for you. Did you have follicle tracking scans too?

fortified so nice to hear some positive stories - thank you!

tatatetelle · 01/11/2016 09:45

Thanks Cat, not long to go now Smile

Yes I did have the scan too, and a progesterone blood test last week to confirm ovulation happened. The scan looked really positive with one dominant follicle and a few other reasonably large so if the blood test confirms ovulation, and I get a bfn this weekend, I'll be on my own for a couple more rounds of clomid before seeing the dr again.

LittleFox10 · 02/11/2016 08:33

Looks like I'm starting my second round of Clomid tomorrow. AF showed up today :( absolutely gutted!

tatatetelle · 02/11/2016 10:17

Oh I'm sorry she got you Littlefox Sad Fingers x the next cycle is successful!

Did anyone do a 21 day blood test while being on Clomid? I got my results today and I don't know if it's saying much... progesterone is at 60 so that means I ovulated (but I knew that), however prolactin is at 808 which is a bit high (average is 500, 1000+ is worrying). I have no clue what to think and the Dr wasn't really helpful on the phone. I also have really strong cramps since last night - one literally woke me up from the pain at 2am, but Dr said it wouldn't be related to results. I'm freaking out about an ectopic pregnancy, hopefully it's all in my head...

Hope everyone else is doing well xx
