I'm on 2nd cycle of clomid (50mg CD2-6) and am on CD7 now - anyone else out there the same?!

Thank you all!

Sorry I haven't replied sooner, we have just had a long weekend away with very poor signal and no wifi.

Scan day today !! Really nervous !!

Do you have to have scans for each cycle of Clomid you do? Or is it just for the first one? I really struggle getting time off work for appointments 😞

Xxx

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/10/2016 09:07

I've had at least one scan with each cycle of clomid, sometimes 2. It depends how you react to clomid. If you produce one good follicle they may not ask you to come back but if it's more, they monitor you cos of the risk of multiples.

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/10/2016 09:12

Good luck with your scan xxx

KP86 · 11/10/2016 09:22

Good luck today

tatatetelle · 11/10/2016 11:09

Morning all!

So I took the first clomid last night, and have had a pretty bad night with hot/cold sweats and weird dreams. This week is going to be fun! (not)

Littlefox good luck with your scan today, mine is next week so any tips you can share would be most welcome. I know all these appts are just so hard to fit in with work. So far I've only told my manager I'm doing a check up and running some tests, that covered me for all the blood tests and scans. Can they book you appointments really early in the morning before you get to work maybe?

Hope everything goes well for you tomorrow Youboggle

xx

Update:

So I went for my scan this morning and it took them forever! Ended up doing it 3 times.

They didn't really say much just that one of my follicles was a different shape and some had fluid in? But they are unsure if I have ovulated already so going back for another scan on Friday which I am dreading as it will be 2 years since I lost our first baby at 17 weeks.

Unfortunately my hospital is an hour away from my work so not able to get an appointment before work which is slightly frustrating but my manager is pretty good at letting me have some time for appointments especially as I do lots of overtime. I work in a nursery so always short staffed.

Sorry to hear your having some horrible side effects to the Clomid, I was very lucky and didn't notice anything different.

I'm hoping I don't need scans every cycle, but this cycle doesn't seem great so I think it's looking possible to have a scan each month.

Xxx

tatatetelle · 12/10/2016 10:07

Hi Littlefox,

Sorry the scan went so so. So you would possibly have ovulated at some point between taking clomid and your scan? Hopefully you've dtd enough / keep dtd for the next few days to catch it! Might be worth doing some opk? I've never done any so I'm truly asking..

Unfortunately I think scans need to be every cycle, they want to track how many follicles you have - they explained to me that if they see more than 2 follicles ready to ovulate during the scan, they will recommend not dtd to avoid high risk multiple pregnancies. They also track things like Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome for each cycle.

Hope everyone else is doing ok! xx

Hi there, has been ages since I started the thread and I'm back on and 9dpo and worrying it hasn't worked again this cycle.

I've worked out my luteal phase is usually only 11 days which is worrying having read that it can mean there's not enough time for everything to happen.
So I guess I'm testing on Friday although I know that 11dpo can be on the earlyish side. Hope everyone is doing okay

My goodness. I'm nervous now that I won't be having scans. Sad

YouBoggleMyMind · 12/10/2016 13:29

Scan wasn't good news for me. Lining was ok but not really thick enough at 6mm and no dominant follicles. Have to go back again next week. Hoping my body is just being slow but worried the chemical pregnancy I had has messed things up. The 2 cycles before this had dominant follicles by this point.

ALongTimeComing · 12/10/2016 13:33

Haven't read the whole thread but wanted to give a little hope to someone. I've got a clomid baby (third cycle). Grin

tatatetelle · 12/10/2016 14:53

Thanks Alongtime, I for one can always use a good story of it working!!

Bummy I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you nervous!! I'm just repeating what the doc told me.. Can your GP monitor you maybe? I know mine didn't want to because they don't have the equipment and conception is not their specialty, but I heard some can do it.

Youboggle sorry about your scan Sad, did they say the chemical pregnancy might be a factor? I can only imagine how hard it must be but maybe you need to allow yourself some time to recover, it's not a light process, and you did suffer a loss.. Are they putting you back on clomid until your next scan? Stay strong!!!

YouBoggleMyMind · 12/10/2016 15:02

I've had clomid for this cycle, just got to see if it's a delayed reaction at my scan next week. If not, I'll prolly have to ask for provera to start AF again as she doesn't come on her own if clomid doesn't work. I'm hoping it's just a delayed reaction and my follies will catch up ready for next week...

YouBoggleMyMind · 12/10/2016 15:04

She didn't say anything about the CP being a factor but I've read conflicting information online about it.
She did say that cycles vary each time and I've read that you can ovulate late on clomid so hopefully that's what it is. Really don't want to be back where I started.

irishasia · 12/10/2016 16:19

I had 7 cycles of Clomid and it didnt work for me.. My doctor has now suggested the IVF route... I cannot wait to get started.

tatatetelle · 13/10/2016 11:11

I completely understand Youboggle, hopefully you'll get a better scan next week xx

Irish sorry Clomid didn't work for you, and good luck with IVF!!

YouBoggleMyMind · 13/10/2016 11:31

Thanks tata. I'm hoping for good news too although I'm not sure it will be. How are you?

tatatetelle · 13/10/2016 11:44

How I know it's easier said than done - especially without wine - but we've got to stay positive!!

I'm good - tired to be honest, I'm still not sleeping very well but I'm half way through so just looking forward to the weekend! How about you? Any fun plans?

BummyMummy77 · 13/10/2016 12:10

Oh- my midwife just told me that her and her 5 sisters are all clomid babies and she's birthed at least 25 that she knows of. Smile

YouBoggleMyMind · 13/10/2016 12:25

Oh there's defo wine with everything going on at the minute. Have lost a fair bit of weight though so I'm still being good.

Fairly chilled weekend seeing various family members. How about you?

tatatetelle · 13/10/2016 13:19

Haha go team vino Wine - I'll be good until the end of the months but will certainly indulge after if this cycle doesn't work.

I'm catching up on sleep at the weekend! And lunch/dinners with friends, pretty chilled too!

Bummy - thanks for the positive vibes!!!

LittleFox10 · 13/10/2016 14:42

Thanks Tata,

Correct me if I am wrong, still learning about everything, but if ovulation occurs too early after the period then it isn't good? As I stopped Clomid on Friday night and had my scan Tuesday morning so if i have ovulated already then it would of only been 3 days inbetween?

Having a scan again tomorrow, so hopefully will find out more of what's happening. They never told me how many follicles i had so maybe I'll note that down after seeing previous comments about how many to have.

Thanks for all the tips xxxx

tatatetelle · 13/10/2016 15:10

Hey Littlefox, to be truthful I don't know, but on average ovulation occurs 14 days after the end of your period. But really here we're talking about average so all bets are off on clomid.

I'm still learning too, and have found that Wikipedia has some good explanations I might use for hubby (who is completely lost, bless him): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menstrual_cycle

I'd recommend writing down all these questions and asking tomorrow, they should really tell you everything you want to know and there aren't silly question, ever xx

YouBoggleMyMind · 16/10/2016 00:50

On clomid I've ovulated approx day 14 and approx day 17. My most recent scan showed no follicles so I'm guessing if clomid has worked, it'll be even later!
Ovulated is "supposed" to occur 14 days before your period arrives but we're talking an average 28 day cycle. The only way to know for sure is doing BBT charting. Not something I've bothered with or massively understand.

KP86 · 16/10/2016 12:55

I started very light spotting last night so I expect my period is on its way. Will be approx six week cycle, but I'm not 100% certain that I did ovulate.
