I'm on 2nd cycle of clomid (50mg CD2-6) and am on CD7 now - anyone else out there the same?!

Thank you Youboggle.

That's what I always thought so hearing that I may of ovulated 3 days later worried me but I had my scan and I hadn't, the follicle grew to 20mm so hopefully will release an egg within the next few days. I need to have bloods taken on 24th which is so hard to have done because my doctors never have any slots even a few weeks in advance. So I need to try and get out of work again to be able to have my bloods taken at the hospital.

Does anyone on here suffer with PCOS?

Xxx

KP86 · 16/10/2016 17:15

I definitely ovulated later than expected on Clomid first time around, likely at day 19 rather than 14, based on when my pregnancy was dated.

YouBoggleMyMind · 16/10/2016 17:37

I have pcos Sad

PurpleRainy · 16/10/2016 19:06

Me too. I realised its been a year of unprotected sex so im now classified as infertile. Im thinking of having a break from clomid. Today i saw so many families out and the parents looked knackered and pissed off. Many people i work with who have kids complain its relentless im wondering if this is for me

YouBoggleMyMind · 17/10/2016 08:16

Hi purple, I think only you can make that decision. I considered throwing the towel in as we've got no where but I also know that if we did that, we'd be back at square one and it would just take as long to get back here. Ultimately you need to do what is right for you. Catching parents on off days when they're kids are being a pain doesn't show an accurate picture of how fulfilling being a parent can be. Xx

tatatetelle · 17/10/2016 09:26

I have pcos too.
Littlefox good to know you haven't missed the window though!
Purple I get where you're coming from, this whole assisted conception process can be discouraging at times, and you're left with so much time on your hands to question everything. But like Youboggle says I too think there's a lot more to being a parent then the snippets you see in other families Smile xx

So hi girls I thought I should update as I started this thread (and I'm crossing everything as I type) but I got my bfp at 12dpo!!! This was my 2nd cycle on clomid 50mg (cd2-6).

If it's of any interest and who knows if just coincidence or something in it but during the second cycle I used cough medicine (has to be the one with guaifenesin as the main ingredient) which helps with cm - took this 5 days before ovulation up to and including the day of ov. Plus I've read lots on the Chinese medicine theory that cold feet=cold uterus and I always have cold feet so made sure to keep them toasty warm.
FX for everyone here for your BFPs xxx

Congrats wantingabud, that's fantastic news!! Star And so encouraging for all of us on clomid too!! Hope you breeze through the next few weeks, do you know when you'll have your first scan?

xx

PurpleRainy · 18/10/2016 13:22

Congrats xx

wantingabud · 18/10/2016 13:45

Thanks so much. Not sure when I'll have my first scan - I was hoping to get a 6/7 week scan with the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit as with previous losses that they might book me in (they did for my last pregnancy which I then lost at 21 weeks) however my local GP was really unhelpful and basically said let nature take it's course and having an early scan won't change the outcome....pretty upset, I know what he means but I'm so anxious and no skin off his nose to write to the EPAU confirming I need an appointment. I might try calling again in a week and speak to a different doctor.

Thats a bit crap. Would you pay privately for a scan?

LittleFox10 · 18/10/2016 20:52

Congratulation Wantingabud. I hope it's a sticky bean for you and you have a healthy & successful pregnancy. Sorry for your losses xxx

Morning Ladies, hope everyone is doing well!?

I had my cd 11 scan this morning and the Clomid seems to be working really well. I have a 20mm follicle ready to hatch in the next 2 days so lots of dtd for us, and then....the dreaded tww I suppose (and a blood sample next week to double check progesterone levels, but the Dr said based on what she saw today she isn't anticipating anything abnormal from the test).

BummyMummy I thought of you - now that my first scan is out of the way and we've established Clomid works, I won't have another one for the next 2. So if I don't get a BFP on this one, I'm to continue on Clomid for a couple of cycles by myself and only then if it doesn't work will I see the Dr again. Hope that helps.

KP86 · 19/10/2016 14:03

Congratulations everyone on successful (and going well) cycles :)

YouBoggleMyMind · 19/10/2016 14:41

How are you getting on kp? I'm definitely in the unsuccessful pile at the minute.

KP86 · 19/10/2016 14:49

Think I'm out for this cycle as well.

Spotting for two days, then nothing for three or four days and now it's starting more properly today.

YouBoggleMyMind · 19/10/2016 17:01

Sorry kp. That's rubbish. Xx

BummyMummy77 · 19/10/2016 17:05

Tatat thanks. We've decided not to start until next month as if by some miracle it did work the due date would coincide with ds working away for 2 months and as we have absolutely no support here at all and a 3 year old ds I don't want to chance it.

Next month it's a go though!

BummyMummy77 · 19/10/2016 17:05

Oh and congrats!!!

tatatetelle · 20/10/2016 13:43

Thanks Bummy, and that's very sensible to wait and make sure you're in the right space when it does happen and you have to juggle between a toddler and a newborn!

doomkittycleo · 22/10/2016 21:26

My gynaecologist px Clomid for me in August, but DP and I agreed to wait to start taking it until we move house.

The house is due to complete any day and we agreed last night that regardless of what happens I will start it on the next cycle.

I'm currently on CD7 so it'll be a few weeks yet.

DP and I have been TTC for almost 2 years and despite having a regular cycle, gynaecologist says I am not ovulating. This is based on blood tests and hycosy scan.

What are people's experiences of clomid, success rates, side effects etc.

I'm really looking forward to starting it, I just hope it works 🤔

jellyella · 23/10/2016 07:58

Hi everyone,

I've been prescribed 50mg of Clomid for three months. Going to start it next cycle (currently cd10). Doomkittycleo - we can be Clomid buddies if you like Smile

Bit anxious about side-effects, mood swings etc but clearly keen to give it a try. Also just had an HSG test on Friday (right Fallopian tube seems blocked, but left one is clear) so am hoping that a bit of a kickstart from Clomid does the job!

jellyella · 23/10/2016 08:01

Ps I've been prescribed it without scans, just day21 bloods. There seems to be a bit of a 50-50 split between those that have been prescribed it with follicle scans, and those without? I didn't realise this when I was at the gynaecologist and she prescribed it, otherwise I'd have asked a bit more about it. But presumably it's ok without the scans....
