Pebbles cautiously whispering congrats stay sticky beanie xx

brownstag · 25/08/2013 10:34

Breezy and Pebbles, so pleased for you both!

brownstag · 25/08/2013 18:44

Duggs, re. the sperm DNA fragmentation: what did you have done about it? As we have had one baby together, does that rule out the problem for us, or can it occur at any point? I just found a site which was discussing how to improve matters, and most of them seemed to be simply following a healthy lifestyle/taking a few supplements, so presumably that's something we can do anyway without being tested. Obviously it's not just me that is knocking on, but my DH as well. But he does eat a healthy diet, as I feed him my vegan diet, so he has a lot of antioxidants, plus he does eat meat out of the house. I've come to that point again, of thinking, what can I do that's new to help us have a baby!

Pebbles73 · 25/08/2013 19:02

Thanks ladies, bleeding started again this afternoon and some cramping. Seem to be in the same old situation of sitting around waiting to see what happens....
Just watching back to back vampire diaries to try and distract myself and eating sweets!

Breezyweezy · 25/08/2013 19:07

Ha Duggs hadn't seen your post on the other thread, but had a look. My blonde bob has now become a rather long, straggly mess since I can't be bothered to do anything with it at the moment!!

Pebbles yay! Really great to hear of your BFP. Definitely take it easy for the next few days. I seemed to get a bit more brown gunky stuff the first week and a half after my +ve when I over did things, namely a bouncy castle assault course at my niece and nephews' birthday parties!! Are you having intralipids as part of your treatment?

Mel sent you a pm back about the meds.

Mel3062 · 25/08/2013 19:09

Thanks breezy just back from Chester zoo with hubby and surrounded by pregnant ladies or babies found it a struggle today :/

Mel3062 · 25/08/2013 19:10

Good tactic pebbles hoping its just getting snug x

duggs1976 · 25/08/2013 19:30

Pebbles bed down. My acupuncturist was really strict about taking it easy at this stage.
Brown - we had hidden infection tests and DH had a urinary tract infection encocollicolis or something? No symptoms. He had 33 percent fragmentation which dr Gorgy prescribed some very hardcore anti. Bs for a month. 3 mths later it had dropped to 22 per cent and 3 mths after that 15 percent which is normal. Any fraemtation over 30 percent is usually 1 percent chance of live birth. It cost £300 so up to you but for us I think it was a game changer regardless of how this pregnancy turns out. Ahh breezy glad you are doing ok.Grin

Wow Pebbles sounds so promising. I imagine you are virtually too scared to move. Do take it easy and I am keeping everything crossed for you.

Buzzy exciting/nerve wracking news for you too. Good advice from your clinic - it only takes one!

Mel sorry you have had a tough day - it can be so hard. I always think of something Free said once (I think) that you don't know what struggles the pregnant people you see out and about may have had to get to where they are. That does help me a little.

Hi to everyone else. Hope you are keeping up the pma Duggs

Brown to answer your question my cycle is usually bang on 28 days so I can't afford for it to shorten by 6 days. Have had a blood test to see if the dhea is working so will see what the results say.

Buzzybee123 · 25/08/2013 20:01

pebbles great news, very exciting I did have some bleeding and it drove me mental already slightly unhinged I was constantly told that it was quite common in IVF pregnancies, are you able to go to an EPAU and have your HCG checked :)

breezy congrats to you too :)

duggs1976 · 25/08/2013 21:22

I paid £50 to have my HCG levels tested cd 14, 17 & 23 and they were 201,601 & 3662 so it gave me comfort. There are reports that correlate early HCG levels and roses with live birth outcome so it can be helpful ( if the results are what you want to hear? ) otherwise dropping levels is usually pretty conclusive but at least you get an indication. They all use Beta HCG testing in the USA as par for the course- until a scan could pick anything up at 5 or 6 weeks. It only seems IVF clinics use it here and not all of them. The very, very early days were hell.
Even now at 7 wks I feel slightly better but if I had the HCG options again I'd do it. Ranges vary massively the jump up is more important apparently. Huge hugs xx

Thanks Breezy, i guees lots of people bleed during pregnancy but i obviously assume the worst as has always meant muscarriage. never hapoened this early though!! Bleeding seems to be a bit darker again this morning but still just watery. I am indeed having intralipids, chucked most things at this cycle as not sure will do another fresh one. Have on frostie from this cycle.

It's a nightmare isn't it Mel used to love going to the zoo as I am a big animal lover but I know how you feel seeing everyone with their families.

Thanks Buzzy, did you have any cramping?

NLC include blood test for hcg in the package so off to get that tomorrow. I guess that should be quite telling as to which way this will go.

Mel3062 · 26/08/2013 12:26

Good luck pebbles x I remember having awful implantation pains they doubled me over, it's good that the bleed has eased and its watery x

Buzzybee123 · 26/08/2013 19:05

pebbles yes I had cramping, thought it was period starting several times Hmm I have spent last few weeks over analysing ever ache pain and symptom

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 27/08/2013 07:54

Mind if I join in?
I've been on the high NKC thread for a year and have just moved onto super ovulation with Mr S so I officially belong here too now.

I have one DS (10) with ASD and we've been trying for 6 years for a second child but have only 5 MMC to show for it.

I live in France so have visited a few different gynaecologists to see if anyone can help locally but I've now accepted that MC and high NKC are not understood in France yet.

After a roller coaster of increasing chronic back pain I'm on the verge of being diagnosed with an auto immune disease of the spine. It explains the high NKC but unfortunately puts me at increased risk health wise for any future pregnancy. The odds are massively stacked against me and I feel a bit bleak about it all at the moment.

My next challenge is to find a french gynae willing to scan my ovaries in a fortnights time. Oh the things we do Smile

duggs1976 · 27/08/2013 08:52

Welcome accidental - I know you from the other thread.so you've seen dr s now? Can I ask if you are just on predinsolone or hydroxy too or Humira or any other drugs?

OP posts:
Pebbles73 · 27/08/2013 09:49

Where did you get your blood tests done Duggs? NLC is such a trek for me need to look into somewhere more local if am going to be needing a few?

Still bleeding, did another test this morning and looks exactly the same.

Hi Accidental sounds like getting treatment must be pretty tricky for you just to make your life harder! Do they just not believe in the whole immune thing in France?

Arianrhod · 27/08/2013 09:50

Also welcome from me accidental, I do read the pred thread although I don't post much on there now. So sorry for the challenges you're facing, it's nuts what we have to go through!

pebbles Huge but whispered congrats to you, and crossing fingers for a good hCG level. The bleeding does your head in, doesn't it - hopefully it is just implantation bleeding.

/waves to everyone and loving the good news on here, hoping one day I can join you in some!! My little girl had her very first shower by herself this morning and in some ways it's made me really sad, she's growing up so fast - and growing up all on her own. She's 6.5 now, and I had thought she would have had a little brother or sister for the last 2 years. It just makes me so sad that she may be destined to stay all on her own. :(

Pebbles73 · 27/08/2013 09:55

Sue what was the place in Amersham you used for some scans when doing super ov? Am guessing they might do blood tests as well.

duggs1976 · 27/08/2013 11:19

Pebbles where do you live ? I went to the baby scan studio in Marlow ? Was £50 and got it back same day. But you should be able to google for local scanning private places x

OP posts:
Mel3062 · 27/08/2013 12:19

Have you had your hcg test yet pebbles? X

Pebbles73 · 27/08/2013 14:49

Thanks for the info Duggs.

Hcg has come back as 146.9 and the nurse said that was really good. They ate going to check my progesterone levels as well and let me know. They are really not worried about the bleeding and said probably 80% of the people they treat have bleeding. Right off to google hcg levels!

Arianrhod · 27/08/2013 14:58

Looks good to me pebbles .. I have this bookmarked as a good place for hCG levels

www.betabase.info/showBasicChart.php?type=Single

but I can't get to it at the moment as my work network seems to be blocking it!

Mel3062 · 27/08/2013 15:12

Yey!

brownstag · 27/08/2013 15:14

Thanks for my info too Duggs.
Great news Pebbles.
Well, I'm 10dpo and I got a faint blue line on a Numark test. These are the ones I told you about before where I ended up having a blood test. So am I mad to have bought some more? Probably. Maybe I just like to see lines appear. My NHS ones have what are almost certainly evaporation lines on them, but there is something there, albeit utterly faint and grey. I also have cramping. What I should have done is test the Numark ones at a point in my cycle where I couldn't possibly have been pregnant, but I didn't. Or get my DH to wee on them!
