Looks like you were up early Mel! Thanks so much for that. I must be lucky as it doesn't stop me sleeping but yesterday I wanted to eat everything in sight!!

Abney · 16/08/2013 08:49

Hi Duggs I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. I had my first scan at 7 weeks as like you they terrorised me. I ended up walking around like a zombie with a massive headache just prior to the scans. I did buy a Doppler so that I could detect the HB around the 11 week mark. Although still nerveracking it was nice to go into the 12 week scan with DR S and the NHS knowing that there was a HB. I also used it before the 16 week scan and the 20 week scan. I did refrain from using it more than this. I think I used it just a couple of times inbetween.

Good luck tomorrow Pebbles. We are all routing for you.

Good luck to everyone else.

Hi everyone hope you are well. Wonder if I might join -probably the worlds shy-est lurker. I have had quite a few MCs (7) and have recently been found to have high cytokines, normal nks but a few other things like coeliacs, APAs.

I just wanted to post this link for you in case anyone wants to try this before embarking on humira-or i they have already tried and thier numbers have since gone up. Its just for info- and its from an Irish board so the costs would be different (i.e.less).

Sorry to hear your story laker, are you on any treatment?
Good luck for today pebbles x

Pebbles73 · 17/08/2013 12:30

Hi Laker glad you have joined us, I was quite shy about joining originally but now it's home from home! Sorry to hear you have had such a rough time, whats your treatment plan?

Just on way back from NLC, had two above average blasts put back one of which was an expanding one. They are monitoring the rest until tomorrow to see if any are good enough to freeze. Blood test in 11 days time.....

duggs1976 · 17/08/2013 14:01

Oh wowzers pebbles - amazing news! 2 onboard. R u going back to work??

BellyD · 17/08/2013 15:14

Great news Pebbles embies back on board. Tremendous news!! Take it easy as possible for the next 11 days. Will keep everything crossed.

Welcome Laker and thanks for the link... Very interesting. Sadly I can't drink red wine, but if anyone needed an excuse to, the whole reservatrol argument is a good one! I am just trying to eat plenty of grapes and blueberries and hope that is ok along with my Omega 3. Please don't feel the need to lurk. Everyone is very supportive on here.

Duggs hope you are hanging on in there.

Mel3062 · 17/08/2013 15:27

Yey good luck pebbles ;) I'm taking restravatol tablets as I can't drink alcohol x

dupek73 · 17/08/2013 21:47

Hi everyone,
I needed to escape from London for a bit :) . My DH and I have gone to stay with my mum. I am not sure if I can fully relax but I will try.

Suemays, sorry for my late reply. I had my IVF with NHS, absolutely rubbish! I think the doctor didn't like me right from the beginning when she found pout that I am a dr gorgy's patient. I hated her sarcastic smile when we were talking about different treatments. I was on gonal f only;375 every day, for the last couple days- 300 then 150 as I lost one but mistake and they said that I should not need more anyway???. First scan showed 7 follicles . On the last scan we saw about 9, apparently they were good size, during EC she said that she saw 4 follicles resulted in 1 egg only. What a mystery?!

Laker, I am sorry for your loses. I also have recently been found to have high cytokines and I think most of the things that you can possibly have. Thank you for the link, very interesting .

Pebbles, well done and look after yourself :)

GREETINGS FOR EVERYONE X

brownstag · 19/08/2013 19:52

Very quiet on here .... Just reading about an interesting study which showed that Mittelschmerz (ovulation pain) is a pre-ovulatory symptom. This is significant, as previously it had been speculated that it could be experienced before, during or after ovulation, but this study of quite a large number of women showed it was almost entirely always before. So that should help to pinpoint ovulation in those women who experience it (I always do).
Waves to all x

Pebbles73 · 20/08/2013 12:48

I have never had it Brown!

Have any of you ladies had to use clexane before? I always get huge bruises but last night came up with a massive lump as well and wondered if anyone else had this?

We had one blastocyst good enough for freezing so that was good!

Mel3062 · 20/08/2013 12:52

Sorry pebbles I just got bruising, maybe you were just abit rough.
Great about the blastocyst :)
I had my biopsy yesterday, feeling abit rubbish today. It stung abit as he had to do it twice and as I'm on steroids may not get a proper result but they've offered to do it again free If that's the case! He said I was an interesting case!!
Fingers crossed for you pebbles x

duggs1976 · 20/08/2013 16:05

Yes pebbles I got awful bruising and a lump once or twice. If you are on aspirin that can make it worse apparently.
How are people doing? Pebbles that must be considered a successful attempt- here's hoping one of them takes at least. Fingers tightly crossed for you in the torturous wait. X

OP posts:
brownstag · 20/08/2013 18:36

... The tedium of the 2-week wait for me.
Are you sticking to your guns and avoiding the scan this week, Duggs?

duggs1976 · 20/08/2013 18:56

It's supposed to be 9.45am tomorrow at st. Mary's. I can't face going so I think I will remain in ignorance a while longer yet. Just had acupuncture and my acupuncturist who is also a midwife thinks I should steer clear. Very unlike me I have to say I am usually a bull in a china shop but I really can't stand the thought of it. Even if there is a heartbeat i will worry it will go about and hour afterwards!

OP posts:
Pebbles73 · 20/08/2013 19:39

Thanks Duggs and let's hope the wait passes quickly Brown......

I think you should go with your gut feeling Duggs and don't go if you feel it won't help. Might make you feeling relaxed, how are you coping??

suemays · 20/08/2013 21:23

duggs the only reason it's worth going for scans is that if there is anything wrong that might be picked up at the 12 week scan having earlier scans might help to see it earlier. Speaking from experience you would need lots of time to decide what to do if you were in that position (hopefully you won't). Don't forget after 14 weeks a termination has to be done by giving birth rather than d&c. If you had a scan at 13 wks you might feel rushed into a decision. Sorry if that's a bit blunt but I never thought I would be in the position I was last year. I understand not wanting to have lots of scans though!!

Well I am off to turkey this weekend so hoping that it will help in SWI even though my dd will be asleep in the same room!!

suemays · 20/08/2013 21:24

Good luck pebbles try to take it easy as much as poss!

Pebbles73 · 20/08/2013 21:27

Also meant to say sorry you are feeling sore but hope it gives you more info on what's going on and hope you don't have to go back again. Big hug.

Pebbles73 · 21/08/2013 07:23

Sorry that message was for you Mel!

Thanks Sue and have a great break.

duggs1976 · 21/08/2013 08:14

Yes sue I just don't think I've got past the yolk sac stage as that is where I always seem to fail. Hmm so I am going to wait until 9 week because if there is no Envy today then I will get told to wait until 8 weeks to see what happens anyway. Have a lovely, relaxing holiday, hopefully you will get some siesta time ;-) - is there a kids camp? If so off she goes.....x

OP posts:
Mel3062 · 21/08/2013 08:45

Aw thanks pebbles I just felt off it yesterday. The procedure itself only hurt temporarily but yes I thought it good that they are offering to redo if needed- it never occurred to me to not take the steroids beforehand doh!!
Sue have a restful hol.
Duggs and pebbles fingers are crossed!
Brown good luck to you too.
I think af will arrive soon :(

Arianrhod · 21/08/2013 12:26

Don't blame you wanting to avoid it for a while longer duggs, sometimes ignorance is bliss (and I can't believe I said that - me who has to know every step of the way what's going on!). But I completely understand you wanting to wait this time.

mel Good to hear you had the procedure, hope you're feeling a bit better today. When do you get the results?

pebbles Sounding great right now, really hoping this is the one that works out well for you. Can I offer a couple of tips on the clexane, as one who bruised to hell and back again (and yes, I had a couple of lumps too) - I still have dark marks where some of my worst bruises were, and they were from, what, 3 months ago? Personally I eventually hit on transferring my clexane into a new syringe with a much finer needle, which I found helped tremendously, but I understand not everyone wants to do that. However, even without doing that, I was advised (after I'd had the huge bruises!) to just gently stretch the skin (do NOT grab a chunk of skin to inject into, as all the online sites seem to say) before injecting at a 45 degree angle and inject sloooooowly. Leave the needle in for a count of 10 before pulling it out. I also iced the skin for a good 5 mins beforehand (before I started using finer needles) and then again for a good 20 minutes afterwards - well, I say 'ice', it was actually a whole load of frozen peas in a food bag, wrapped in a teatowel! Oh the glamour :) But I found peas less lumpy and no sharp angles like you get with ice. After doing this I only ever got very small bruises, if any at all - quite a few just didn't bruise.

I should say that I bruise very easily anyway, even without the aspirin, but aspirin and clexane really make bruising much worse. Ironic, really.

sue hope you have a great break, and brown sympathies for the torture of the 2ww.

choccy you still out there? how are you doing?

/waves to everyone

Mel3062 · 21/08/2013 15:35
