Hey pebbles ... Wow things are steaming along for you. I've had another HCG test this morning - I'm 5 wks tomorrow. Waiting for results to be emailed to me now. I don't feel in the slightest bit pregnant. Even my boobs look normal size again Hmm it is so nerve wracking. If results come back ok today then next mile stone is 6 wk scan at st Mary's in Paddington.

How is sue doing? I don't think you got a chance to TTC this month did you? All building to a balanced body for when your man returns.

Good luck Duggs will croissants what's left to cross for you!!

duggs1976 · 07/08/2013 16:58

Had beta HCG back 23dpo was 3662 which is great - is average for 7 weeks but I'm 5 tomorrow! Grinlooks like a strong bean so far. Have read up a lot on HCG tests and levels for vearly pregnancy as prediction of live birth so if this works out I will update as gives some valuable info for the hideous early weeks before 6 wk scan.

duggs that is great news :)

ari I hope you are ok

Pebbles73 · 07/08/2013 20:16

Fab news Duggs and my earlier post should have read will cross everything not croissant!!

Buzzybee123 · 07/08/2013 20:20

pebbles good luck for EC on Monday :)

eurochick · 07/08/2013 22:40

Thanks brownstag. I remember you from the pred threads. I always loved your name - so noble sounding! Thanks for the info about coeliac testing. I will be going down that route in the autmn if #3 doesn't prove lucky.

duggs woo hoo for a great HCG result.

brownstag · 08/08/2013 10:09

Brilliant news Duggs. Higher levels are also associated with having a girl, as I'm sure you already know.
Thanks Eurochick; I would say get the test done now, if there's any question of having coeliac disease, a) because it's so cheap, and b) because if positive you want to start a gluten-free diet asap, to prevent miscarrying any baby you conceive.
The name 'brownstag' is a bit of a weird one. When my sister and I were children, we always had hamsters, and for some now-forgotten reason, we started calling hamsters 'stags'. So our hamsters were called things like 'Brownstag', 'Whitestag', 'Goldenstag', 'Orangestag', etc!

Arianrhod · 08/08/2013 11:02

Oooh duggs, fantastic result. Any chance of twins? :)

Hey euro, welcome back (although sorry why you're here, obviously!).

AFM Still waiting .. for final scan to confirm MC has finished, for AF (goodness knows when THAT will arrive) so that I can think about planning next IVF cycle, and of course to try to find out how to persuade OH to actually do another cycle. Oh, and just as an additional smack in the face, OH's sister phoned him on Sunday and told him that his 29-year-old niece is 16 weeks pregnant, a fact that he appeared to be absolutely delighted about judging by his reaction on the phone. However, on getting off the phone and telling me the news, he then promptly went back to reading his paper/playing a game on his phone - no "are you ok" or "how do you feel about this", no concern whatsoever at all that this news might upset me. His family are all very close, we see his parents probably every 3 weekends or so and his sister whenever it can be fitted in, so I'm going to have to endure an awful lot of excited talk about the new baby - which, incidentally, is due 2.5 weeks before this baby that I just lost was due. And OH has shown absolutely no care for me and how I might feel, nothing at all. I'm very very p*d off with him right now! Angry

Sorry, didn't mean to rant, will go back to lurk mode to continue reading all your good news :)

Abney · 08/08/2013 12:10

Hi everyone. Excellent to see everyone's news. Ari it must be a nightmare for you but the phone call re your OH's niece was the perfect opportunity to say something. Don't bottle it up. Baby Lewis is now 11 weeks old and although I already have a 4 year old, I think because I have been trying so long (approx. 8 years) it is very hard to say well that is it now. V hard to throw first born clothes away as my head is telling me to keep them 'just in case'. My OH says that's it now and I do agree but I think I am now addicted to trying for a baby. How mad, insane and stupid is that Confused. Maybe I will have one accidently with no trouble at all. Dream on.

Pebbles73 · 08/08/2013 20:11

Thanks Buzzy, how are things with you?

Ari that's so not what you don't need right now to hear about someone else's pregnancy!! Sorry oh isn't being very sensitive but feel free to rant about it on here!

I can imagine it is difficult Abney, I have ttc for nearly ten years with a break in the middle so I guess it's weird. I very much look forward to the day though! Smile

I wondered if anybody on here had intralipids anywhere other than Newlife? There's are £350 which seems a lot from looking around. Was going to try and organise it myself but when I asked the nurse she said they wouldn't give me a prescription to use elsewhere because it is intravenous.

brownstag · 09/08/2013 08:57

Ari, I agree with Abney that you're going to have to talk about this with your OH. The thing I've worked out is that some men really do have an emotional IQ of zero. (Thank God for female friends!) Even if you've had a big heart to heart once, and you think you've finally got through to them about something, what actually happens is that they just slip back to their old ways again, and think everything's hunky-dory if you don't say anything further. My DH is like this. I have to spell things out in massive capital letters. It usually takes a crisis of some kind for me to get through to him. I've always found this odd as my father was a very sensitive man and my first partner was the same, and I really thought most men were like this until I married my DH. At the end of the day, what have you got to lose by speaking? You're in a stalemate now; even if he said nothing doing, you'd be no worse off than you are now, and he could very well say yes. He did before.

Arianrhod · 09/08/2013 13:29

Thanks ladies - yes I know I'm going to have to try to talk to OH, but the trouble is, he just won't talk, it ends up with me doing all the talking and the conversation lasting all of about 5 minutes. He just won't talk, drives me insane!

abney Good to hear from you, I do understand what you're saying, when you've focused your whole attention for so long on one thing it's hard to switch it off, even if you get that thing (and like pebbles, I'm hoping I have that dilemma too :) ).

pebbles I did ILs at INS (Independent Nursing Services) on Devonshire St, off Harley St, and they were fabulous. You will need to have a prescription though. They will supply and administer the ILs for £103, or will just administer if you have the ILs yourself for £75. I think ILs are something like £25ish to buy. Which all makes it unbelievable that NL charge £350 for it! Could you get it prescribed if you explain to them that you will be going to somewhere like INS to have it administered, not trying to do it at home on your own (can't imagine it!)?

brown That's an interesting article. Let's hope it leads to an actual breakthrough in treatment in the future.

Buzzybee123 · 09/08/2013 14:05

pebbles I got a box of 10 x 250mls intralipids from a pharmacy in Greece for £120 and I go to a private midwife who charges £100 + £1.50 for saline, it works out alot cheaper than newlife

Arianrhod · 09/08/2013 14:28

That's a cracking price buzzy - were you visiting Greece at the time, or did you get them to ship them over to you?

Buzzybee123 · 09/08/2013 15:41

ari they were shipped over the postage is included in the £120, the only thing is you don't have a prescription so you can't use the place in Devonshire Rd ?? can't remember its name

dupek73 · 09/08/2013 17:26

Hi Girls,
I hope you don't mind me joining in. I have been reading your threat for months:). It helps me to carry on with my daily life.

I had 4 miscarriages(all around Wk 7), did super ovulation with Dr Shehata for a few months and I can also add 'unlucky IVF- 9 good follicles , only 1 egg collected this week, in fact! Nobody can explain what happened. I am devastated.

Pebbles73 · 09/08/2013 18:32

Thanks Ari, my oh looked on the Internet and found that place and I thought NLC would give me the prescription. I will have to ask again as if I did get a bfp really can't afford £350 a go!

Thanks as well Buzzy, where did you get your prescription from?

Welcome to our thread dupekand sorry you are having such a tough time. You must be feeling very frustrated at the way your ivf cycle gas gone, was it private or nhs?

Buzzybee123 · 09/08/2013 20:06

pebbles you don't need a prescription, i just emailed the guy paid through Western union and within a few days two parcels turned up, there isn't much communication on his side but the stuff turned up :) I would be surprised if NLC clinic would give you a prescription but worth asking, the place in London is called Independent Nursing Services Ltd, I think all up it costs around £100, I think its about £15-£25 for the intralipids through their pharamacy and £75 for the administering, also if you get a private prescription there is rigcharm that sell them for about £13 + plus they are really nice and helpful and will post to you as well, they are based in London SE somewhere,

to be honest I think Shehata is too money obsessed but I would ask him, I agree £350 is a hell of a lot of money, especially as he recommends 4 during a pregnancy

dupek so sorry to hear about your losses, I would ask for a review about your IVF cycle, although it only takes one and this could be your golden egg :) when will you be testing ??

dupek73 · 09/08/2013 21:24

Thank you for welcoming me. :)
I was asked to come tomorrow morning for the 1EC, if it still be alive, of course! Can't wait till tomorrow.

This was an NHS cycle(one chance only) supported heavily by Dr Gorgy(1xHumira injections(2shots), 2x LIT, 1x IVIG , Claxine and 40 g Prednisolone. All this for nothing as I have a little chance tomorrow.

I was a regular Dr Shehata's visitor. He assumed me that I will fell pregnant naturally(Which happened 2 years ago last one) as my hormones are good for my age(40). He did some test which showed NK slightly risen, but not much. I was surprised that not much happened during the long 2 years.

Just before NHS cycle, I decided to see Gorgy. Did the Chicago tests (most of them) and found out many things wrong. Did a quick fix and here we are! Surprise, surprise! NHS lost my eggs. Scans showed good size follicles(about 9 of them) then on EC only 1 egg!

Good luck to everyone here with our Sisyphus's work. We will be there one day.

duggs1976 · 10/08/2013 06:38

Dupek I get very annoyed when I read stories like this because similar happened to me. Dr s assured us I'd be pg in 3 to 6 mths ( I always had before) but 2 yrs later, 1 supported IVF cycle later and nothing.
Dr Gorgy however found a lot wrong. And fixed it. Along with Chinese medicine to re correct the imbalances 2 yrs of pred and various other random drugs - super of etc that were haphazard pushy thrown at me.
All I can say is please don't give up yet. You need to try to put those wasted dr s years behind and think now you are fixed. This egg issue is not related to the other issues - that is just ivf protocol and luck. Wishing you all the best it only takes one. Thanks

Morning all and welcome Dupek. Sorry you've had such a bad time of it and find yourself here. Hope we can offer some support.

I had another scan yesterday... 8.4 but measuring 9.1, good strong hb, waggling its little paddly limbs around, amazing! All looking good for this stage. It's so weird to me having encouraging scans... Good stuff just doesn't normally happen to us! :)

Duggs have you got a scan booked yet for next week? Fingers crossed this one works out for you, it really is about time we both had some luck isn't it?! I put a lot of weight on mind/body/soul/balance too.

ChoccyPud · 10/08/2013 07:53

PS Ari I agree with the girls, you need to tie OH down and have a proper conversation with him. So sorry you've got this to deal with as well xx

dupek73 · 10/08/2013 07:56

Thank you duggs for your encouragement. I am furious with Dr S , glad to hear that someone shares my opinion:) Even Gorgy was surprised how little S did for me!
Duggs, sorry I am trying to read the msgs back and work out in what situation you are at the mom?
I am rushing now to have the ET , wonder what I find out.....
Love to everyone
