Hey super ovulators and those struggling with infertility after miscarriage this is where we are! Come on over ...

OP posts:
suemays · 17/06/2013 12:18

belly how did the transfer go on Fri? How many did they put back in? Don't be tempted to test early like I did!! I was told to test on Fri as that would be 14 days passed iui. I wanted to know early so that I could get intrallipids in if preg.

duggs I will watch the YouTube vid but like you say I am already having acupuncture and doing yoga so not sure what else I could do??

lemonsherbet · 17/06/2013 12:36

brown think the guidance is woman who are aged 40-42 with no previous nhs fertility treatment should be offered 1 round of IVF. Think you and your partner need to have no children to. I am guessing when they say fertility treatment they are talking previous cycles of IVF on the NHS.

Arianrhod · 17/06/2013 12:40

Oh bugger yes brown, I forgot that, if you have a child. Still worth asking though? Can't hurt!

I have emailed them to Penny belly, she said there's nothing we can do but wait for the scan. hCG levels are confusing, actually - I was just reading that apparently between 1200 to 6000 mIU/ml doubling changes to 72-96 hours to double, which would mean we're just outside this. But I think I have to look at the overall hCG picture, which is what they call 'low and slow rising'. It's hard not to hope, but of course we all do.

And yes, it's driving me completely insane - I hate waiting, and I hate inconclusive results!

Arianrhod · 17/06/2013 12:41

Oooh I missed that .. belly how did your transfer go??

lemonsherbet · 17/06/2013 12:41

www.nhs.uk/news/2013/02February/Pages/New-NICE-guidelines-for-NHS-fertility-treatment.aspx

Reading this it also says must have no evidence of low ovarian reserve

BellyD · 17/06/2013 13:01

Ari I can totally understand the feeling of hope - and we are all hoping for you too.

Egg transfer was incredible really - we got a picture of the embie to keep - one was six cell and ok quality they other was 10 cell but with a bit more fragmentation. We could see them on the tv in their little petri dish and then getting sucked into the catheter and transferred. Mind blowing really. Now it is just a waiting game. Will try not to test early,Sue but am usually rubbish at that. Obvs the symptom spotting has started already although I don't think that they would even try and implant until tomorrow or Wednesday. Avidly listening to my ZW relaxation cd but usually fall asleep before it finishes! Feel v lucky to get this far. The progesterone injections are the worst bit of the whole process - ouch!

Arianrhod · 17/06/2013 13:11

Ooh belly, you're doing the shots? Ouch!! I was reading one RE's website this morning where someone had asked him why we're still doing the PIO shots and he said something along the lines of, well really there's no need, the suppositories/pessaries are just as good .... ! So why why why do most IVF clinics make people do the shots? Obviously you're going to do whatever you feel gives you the best chance, and it seems that clinics are still saying shots are best. Ouch!

Are you doing clexane as well belly, and how are you getting on with them? I'd just managed to get them down where I'm getting minimal bruising (never thought I'd get good at injecting) and of course Penny's told me to stop doing them until we know more about what's happening! lol

We got a picture of the implanted embies to keep too, amazing really! Definitely try not to test early if you can possibly hold out, it's such a head-feck!!

lemonsherbet · 17/06/2013 13:36

ari sorry you are still in limbo, I hope it is a fighter of an embiee that is holding in there for you and that is why the hcg is going up

Mel3062 · 17/06/2013 15:58

Yey buzzy!!
Sue still keeping hopeful for you and ari
Brown thinking of you and results
Waves to all x

brownstag · 17/06/2013 18:58

Well, I got my results. It was a girl and she had Down's syndrome. It really does make it all so much real. I know my husband wouldn't have wanted to keep a baby with Down's, whereas I would, so in a way it is a blessing that nature spared us that dilemma. Poor little soul.

Pebbles73 · 17/06/2013 19:01

Sorry to hear your line didn't get stronger Sue.

Ari sorry you are still in limbo, seems to be a little fighter so you never know with your hcg still going up. I hope the scan Thursdsy will give you some more info.

Great news Buzzy that heartbeat is still going strong.

Glad your transfer went smoothly Belly, a good transfer is meant to help your chances. The whole process is quite incredible isn't it?

Mel3062 · 18/06/2013 03:08

Brown I'm glad you've got an answer, however sad :( how many weeks were you?
Maybe as I was so early I just have to accept that it's just too small to get anything from. I so wish they hadn't lost my results from my 16 week loss although they said it didn't show anything you never know if it would of been helpful in some way.
Wow good luck belly x

Pebbles73 · 18/06/2013 08:54

Sorry brown crossed posts with you. Once you know the sex it dies make it so very real, hope you are ok. Big hugs.

Arianrhod · 18/06/2013 09:22

brown Big hugs .. I know you say in a way it's a blessing you were spared the dilemma, but it's still a hard, hard thing to deal with. Take care of you, and fingers crossed for the next one.

buzzybee123 · 18/06/2013 09:32

brown big hugs

ari although the PIO are painful I do feel that they are better than the pessaries, although most likely its all in my head

belly fingers crossed for you :)

brownstag · 18/06/2013 12:07

Thanks everyone. Had a shocking night's sleep with it all going round and round in my head. Mel, I was 8 weeks 4 days. How many were you?

BellyD · 18/06/2013 14:36

Thanks for good wishes everyone.

Brown it is better to get a conclusive test result, but tough to take nonetheless. Thinking of you.

Duggs there is an article in the Daily Mail today about a more natural ivf they are pioneering at NHS Hammersmith using a drug called kisspeptin. Did they mention this to you at all?

Pebbles have you got your appointment date at Care yet? Apologies if I've missed it.

brownstag · 18/06/2013 15:55

Thanks Belly. It definitely is. And good to know it was nothing I could have helped, and also that I don't have to worry the immune treatment wasn't working.
That's interesting about kisspeptin. I read about it a year or more ago. They weren't using it for IVF then, though, more ovulation disorders. It's a natural hormone and what helps bring about puberty.

Mel3062 · 18/06/2013 15:56

Brown I was about 6 weeks 5 days :(

Arianrhod · 18/06/2013 18:31

Sigh. So I've started proper red bleeding now, not just spotting. Comes and goes, but it's definite bleeding. I know it could be anything, but with increasing hCG it doesn't look good. Not very hopeful for scan on Thu, and to make matters worse, OH has had to go away with work until late tomorrow night. Hoping that if it is ectopic, it hangs on to do anything more till he gets back at least!

Sorry for the me post, just wanted to vent a bit :(

Mel3062 · 18/06/2013 18:55

Oh ari no words just hugs x

buzzybee123 · 18/06/2013 19:15

ari this is what happened to me on Sunday, scared the life out of me, when they scanned me they couldn't see anything Hmm

yuo can vent as much as you like that is what we are here for :)

Arianrhod · 18/06/2013 20:26

Thanks buzzy - to be honest it's not the bleeding that's worrying me so much - I'm expecting to miscarry anyway (I know that sounds terrible but it's true). What is worrying me quite a bit is that I have on-off pains from just under my left rib all down and around my left side. They're not bad at all, more like a very mild stitch, but it worries me - doubly so because I have no one who could take care of DD if I have to go to hospital suddenly. We have no relatives within an hour of where we live, and OH isn't back until late tomorrow evening. Whatever it is, has to hold on until at least then!

Pebbles73 · 18/06/2013 22:41

So sorry Ari, I hope the bleeding eases off and if not that things hold off for the moment.

Nothing through yet Belly, going to ring them tomorrow to see how long it normally takes for appointment etc

Pebbles73 · 18/06/2013 22:55

www.preventmiscarriage.com/Discussion-Forum/Questions-for-Dr-Braverman/When-to-TTC-after-Humira-shot-.aspx

Just looking on the net to find out info about when to have ivf after humira and came across the above. I am now slightly confused as from this it seems you should wait for minimum of 60 days. He also died not treat people with humira unless tnf is over 40, mine was 37....,.
