its the lack of sore boobs ari This is exactly what happened last time I miscarred

Mel3062 · 16/06/2013 19:17

Buzzy I hope it turns out well for you.
Sue fingers crossed for you too xx
Are there any success stories on hydroxy??

Pebbles73 · 16/06/2013 20:45

Buzzy a close friend of mine who had ivf bleed for ages and has a 2 year old daughter. I hope all is ok and it is just one of those things. Put your feet up and take it easy.

buzzybee123 · 16/06/2013 20:54

thanks pebbles its the lack of symptoms and the cramps that worry me

suemays · 16/06/2013 23:08

Buzzy don't forget you had lack of symptoms before your last scan and then all was OK. The symptoms do come and go so you can't go by them disappearing. Has it got any worse? I had cramps with my last pregnancy - it could be the uterus moving and expanding. I agree you need to go to your local EPU though and get it checked - good luck.

Mel my last pregnancy was a success on the hydroxy as I got passed the dreaded miscarriage stage of 12 weeks but had to have a medical termination at 22 weeks due to a fatal kidney defect in our little girl. Before the hydroxy I had 2 early miscarriages on Shehatas plan. I am convinced the hydroxy made the difference and it was just bad luck with what we went through.

Mel3062 · 17/06/2013 05:42

Aw sue I'm so sorry to hear that. Thankyou for sharing your story it gives me hope again to keep going. Are you on the hydroxy now?
This week is going to be another agonising one isn't it ladies thinking of you all x

suemays · 17/06/2013 07:04

Yes I am still on the hydroxy.
Well looks like it was the hcg shot in my system as completely white test today. I did two to make sure but the line has disappeared. Was really hoping my luck had changed.

suemays · 17/06/2013 07:05

I will test again on wed but beginning to think I will never have another baby!

duggs1976 · 17/06/2013 08:27

Sue I'm sorry to hear that - exactly what I did last month Hmm for any of us can I recommend a book called the "infertility cure" by randine Lewis. YouTube it too the fertile soil you tube video. It is very interesting and really worth the read. Regardless of our journey I think you will find it interesting. If anyone has read it I'd be interested to hear your views?

duggs1976 · 17/06/2013 08:28

P.S sue UP and then crashing DOWN! Don't give up please don't. Read this book.
My bother announced his second pregnancy month 1 of trying his first child is not even 1 yr old yet. Wonderful.

suemays · 17/06/2013 09:34

I really thought the hcg would be out of my system yesterday but obviously not. DH keeps telling me he is at the end of the road for trying but it just puts more pressure on me! Bloody men!

duggs its so hard when family members find it so easy and we don't. It makes family occasions a nightmare to go to.

buzzy how are you today?

suemays · 17/06/2013 09:36

I will buy a copy of the book, was there anything groundbreaking in it?

BellyD · 17/06/2013 09:55

Sue so sorry to hear that was so hopeful for you. When was your OTD tomorrow? Might be worth doing one more test then now that today's has confirmed the trigger shot is out of your system?

Duggs I am sure you are happy for your brother but it still is painful. At least you will have another niece or nephew to spoil - I love mine to pieces. Will check out the video.

duggs1976 · 17/06/2013 10:01

Well I think so. But you seem quite aware of TCM already!? Watch the YouTube video first see what you think.. Is all linked to trauma and grief and this aggressive determination we all seem to have. Check it out...

buzzybee123 · 17/06/2013 10:10

duggs sorry sbout the announcement

sue i would test tomorrow just to be sure

ari how are you doing

well there must be a god as there is still a heartbeat, i feel strange and different then two days ago though, hardly feel sick, this is such a stressful process

brownstag · 17/06/2013 10:28

Brilliant Buzzy. That's really good to hear.
Sue, it's early days. That false positive doesn't mean a real one isn't on the way.
Ari, are you okay?
Duggs, every mum at my son's preschool seems to be pregnant. The teachers there are always looking at my tummy too and they're not sure, I can tell, but too polite to ask. I feel like saying, 'No, I'm just fat!' We went to a BBQ at the weekend and a very drunk man asked me if I was pregnant. Obviously what everyone is thinking but too polite to ask. I now weigh more than when I was pregnant, even though I've been off the steroids for weeks and have stopped my pig-like steroid gourging. ...
Positive ovulation test today, hooray. Day 15. Better than day 37 last month!

lemonsherbet · 17/06/2013 10:52

buzzy glad it was OK

ari when are epau scanning you again? How are you coping being in limbo?

duggs it is so difficult isn't it with everyone announcements and putting on a brave face wondering when will it be my turn.

brown I put on lots of weight when I was on the steroids. Was craving carbs and went up a couple of dress sizes. It can be quite horrible especially when someone has not seen you for a while. Are you taking them every month?

Arianrhod · 17/06/2013 11:04

Phew buzzy, that's such good news! It's such a head-feck, this whole business. Don't worry about symptoms coming and going, apparently that happens too. I tell myself when I was pg with DD (seems so very long ago now) I didn't have any symptoms or side effects at all - no sickness, no sore bbs, nothing. Only thing I felt was tired towards the end of the first trimester, and of course the latter half of the third, but throughout the whole of the first 12 weeks I wouldn't have known I was pregnant at all. And this was before hCG tests, scans, and other such mentalling!

buzzy Are you still doing progesterone/estrogen supplements/pessaries/shots? I've discovered that how I feel changes day to day, bbs-wise; one day they hurt like hell, the next they barely twinge, and then the next they hurt again. Drives me nuts, but I know I can't read anything into it as it's the estrogen/progesterone supplements/pessaries that is making this happen, not my body itself. I don't think on a DE cycle your body makes its own progesterone (or enough of it, anyway) until the placenta is fully functional, 12 weeks I think?

sue As brown says, and as I know you know, it's still early days. Fingers crossed! Definitely sympathise on the men issue - I'm sure it takes a toll on them too, but we seem to bear the brunt of it. We could do with them just saying "yes dear, whatever makes you happy, I'll support you all the way". Not going to happen in my household, I know, but wouldn't it make life easier?!

AFM well no more bleeding at all, more blood tests done this morning (sixth in all, man are my arms bruised :( ) and waiting for the results. Not holding my breath, but obviously praying for a miracle!

buzzybee123 · 17/06/2013 11:32

ari my fingers are crossed tightly for you

brownstag · 17/06/2013 11:36

Ari, yes, I was going to ask you about progesterone: how does the body make it when you haven't got a corpus luteum presumably? Good luck with the results. When do you get them?
Lemon, I might take 10mg this month from ovulation. How are you?

I have my karyotyping results later today. I'm sure that like Mel, there'll be no result for whatever reason. I'm going to ask him about what the situation is re. IVF for up to 42-yr-olds on the NHS. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Arianrhod · 17/06/2013 11:44

Thanks buzzy and brown. brown, shouldn't you get an NHS-funded cycle if you're 42? The rules changed recently, didn't they? Definitely worth asking for!

Well I got my results (this lab is quick!) and I'm still banging my head against a brick wall! hCG is up, progesterone is up again, doubling time is coming down but is still nowhere near what it should be (48-72 hours at this stage). hCG last test 5 days ago was 1169.0, today it's 2737.0. That makes a doubling time of 97.7 hours - last test it was 101.86 hours, time before that it was 121.12 hours. Progesterone was 38.19 today, and 31.09 last time it was tested.

I guess we still don't have a clue what's happening - and I'm fairly sure we'll be none the wiser at the scan on Thursday, I suspect it's going to take at least another couple of scans after that before we know. Maybe. Unless of course it does die and my body miscarries.

I presume what Penny said a couple of days ago is true: whatever is there is struggling to survive. I still don't see how anything with hCG this low at this stage can be viable. Confused

brownstag · 17/06/2013 11:53

It sounds promising ari. Will you be 7 weeks by the scan? I seem to remember reading that after 6 weeks the foetal pole grows a mm a day, so it should be much easier to see by then.

brownstag · 17/06/2013 11:56

Meant to say, I have one child already, so I'm sure they'll say no to IVF on that basis.

BellyD · 17/06/2013 11:57

Great news Buzzy

Ari glad the results came through so quickly. Are you going to email them to Penny to see what she thinks? I am a bit ignorant on hcg levels, I'm afraid -what should your level be now for your dates? All this uncertainty must be driving you mad. Hang on in there.

suemays · 17/06/2013 12:10

buzzy what a relief!

I asked about eligibility for ivf on nhs but was told its still limited to age 39 where I live and for the first child only. It's a misconception about the 42 year old upper limit as most areas haven't changed it!
