Hey, no one is an idiot here. There is just a lot of passion.

Well maybe NG is rather a dullard.

mrsruffallo · 22/10/2009 18:37

No, they are idiots because we need to hear this man and debate his views and expose him as the fool he is.

daftpunk · 22/10/2009 18:38

2shoes....do you know what freedom of speech and democracy means..?

2shoescreepingthroughblood · 22/10/2009 18:40

yes and it works both ways.

daftpunk · 22/10/2009 18:41

i haven't said anyone on this thread is an idiot... i think the protestors who follow the BNP around are idiots...

daftpunk · 22/10/2009 18:43

lol 2shoes...so by silencing someone you are allowing them to talk..?

you haven't got a clue...

moffat · 22/10/2009 18:45

bb99 I will be boycotting the programme - don't want to contribute to the ratings and I think the BBC is making a big mistake. I applaud those protesters for standing up to evil.

2shoescreepingthroughblood · 22/10/2009 18:45

of course not, cos I disagree with you

Mamazonabroomstick · 22/10/2009 18:46

I think it is doing the voting public a great disservice to assume they are too stupid to see NG for what he is.

I think that question time tonight will indeed be an important turning point for British politics.

Hopefully it will show the 3 main parties that the public have real concerns about issues surrounding immigration, the loss of British pride and general home policy.
hopefully this will show them that the BNP are gaining real political legitimacy not through their own policy but through a lack of action by those that should.

When the government wont act you go to someone who tells you they will. and sadly NG is spouting the right things to the wrong people.

The man is an abhorant vile moron, however intelligent he is. Let the public see that.

But to becomke violant and demonstrate against the fact that he was democratically elected, within the law and as such he has earned a place on a political discussion programme.
The BBC is paid for by the public, ALL of the public. not just those who are nice liberal thinkers. they have a right to see the man they have elected.

allok · 22/10/2009 18:48

Moondog and DP - well I'm mixed race - not a thing the BNP really hold dear - NG says he'd love a mixed race grandchild but would be sad as mixed race people are often comprised in how they feel.

Hey - guess what - I feel bloody fine.

I'm a British patriot and I love my country -but guess what - I'm not so keen on certain aspects of our country - that is our underclass and what I percieve to be our welfare system keeping them that way.

Happy to live in a democracy and people think and vote how they want. This is the UK - a country of free speech.

However, I'm not going anywhere - neither is my ds, wee as he is, more mixed and multicultural than I am - he will not grow up to depend on benefits and not take responsbility for his actions.

Our dependancy and lack of civil society is what is wrong with our country - not our immigrants (last Panorama the point in case - don't forget our economy is based on more people than we have now - not the fault of migrants if our housing and services are not up to keeping to keeping our economy going..

If I get a job based on my skills and qualifcations and sheer hard graft - well done me. If the Iranian husband and wife highly skilled team that saved my baby's life in birth got the job due to their qualifications and skills - well that's grand and that's how it should be.

I loathe the BNP but happy to hear there voice in the name of the ' quest for parity for the oppressed'....Moondog

daftpunk · 22/10/2009 18:49

it's nothing to do with you disagreeing with me 2shoes..99% of people on this thread disagree with me....

you just don't know what you're talking about.....sorry..

AliGrylls · 22/10/2009 18:50

The problem with NG is that he is so articulate and has an answer for everything.

I saw him on the Andrew Marr Show a couple of weeks ago and he was very convincing.

I doubt anyone will really be able to catch him out.

3littlefrogs · 22/10/2009 18:54

I just hope the other people on the panel will give him enough rope to hang himself.

I wonder if a lot of possible candidates refused to appear?

I wonder how they will organise the seating?

Dh and I will watch it together - we have decided we should watch it, even though we cannot bear the man. Our kids are mixed race and I don't know whether I will be able to sit through it TBH.

poshsinglemum · 22/10/2009 19:01

I know that the demonstartors are being criticised but remember they are exercising their freedom of speech too! To complain about total freedom of speech ironically!
In many countries such as Iran where dd's dad is from they would be shot.

Imagine a world without immigration? No thanks. Inbreeding mentally aswell as physically would be the norm.

poshsinglemum · 22/10/2009 19:04

Remember us Brits were invaded by the French and Norwegians which biologically ENHANCES the gene pool when they mated with the indegenous population.

Griffin and his ilk just cannot see this at all.

daftpunk · 22/10/2009 19:04

they can protest...no problem....but they want to stop him talking...

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 22/10/2009 19:06

Those protesters are embarrassing. Peaceful protests I agree with but not bunches of idiots trying to storm buildings.

Wonderstuff · 22/10/2009 19:06

Moondog I really don't think that you can compare visiting apartied SA and later admitting it was a bad idea with denying the Holocaust happened. Different league. I don't think that NG has said he was wrong or apologised for his earlier comments has he? I think the 'mistake' as far as he is concerned was to mention his beliefs publically.

electra · 22/10/2009 19:07

'the anti-fascists are fascists themselves'

I have heard this before from a BNP sympathiser - how exactly does the argument work? (genuine question)

madamimadam · 22/10/2009 19:09

I'm sure this thread will have long moved on by the time I post this but:

"But it's no surprise that a bunch of racists are being seen as the only alternative when those on the right (i.e. UKIP and some parts of the Conservative Party) have been marginalised so effectively by the media."

Have they? Have you seen the Daily Express recently? Or the Mail? I'd say that they were anything but marginalised.

To me, the BNP are at the thick end of a very unpleasant wedge, imo (Just look at some of the charmers that the Tories are cosying up to in Europe?).

And isn't NG so very fortunate to benefit from the democracy that he so despises? He can't lose, can he?

To me, this debacle has nothing to do with genuine political debate (this thread's done that for me) but with a cynical attempt to create TV that 'makes headlines'.

Who will QT have on next to boost ratings? Gary Glitter?

The BNP must be rubbing their hands in delight...

moondog · 22/10/2009 19:25

Nicholas Soames and Frank Field have an interesting article on this in today's Telegraph, both being members of the Cross Party Group on Balanced Migration. Here

I'm really perplexed by people discussing in worried tones how 'articulate' NG is. Would you rather he was inarticulate? Or is his mastery of the art of oratory something you feel is masking the kernel of uncomfortable truth in his message?

moondog · 22/10/2009 19:26

(Heartening to know that Soames can say something vaguely sensible and not jst consume a great many pies and schmoozy up to 'Prince' Charles.)

poshsinglemum · 22/10/2009 19:27

''kernel of uncomfortable truth''

Moondog do you mean the bit about how the holocaust didn't take place or the bit about having a totally white Britain?

poshsinglemum · 22/10/2009 19:28

I do actually see why some people are threatened by immigration (ie- people like my dad) but it is a fact of modern (and not so modern life) and people need to accept that.

daftpunk · 22/10/2009 19:30

no PSM...people do not need to accept it....
