I think that's one of my points tattifer. Prostitution is extremely widespread and normal, men who use it are normal. they take that normalisation of taking power over a woman's body through financial superiority back into their normal lives, and that attitude seeps through society. And we do have a society in which men physically oppress women and expect sex in return for financial input, even in "normal" relationships, and women play along with that. You might say that's OK too - but I don't think it is, because IMO it's a fundamental source of many men's deep disrespect for women and fuels things like domestic violence.

Porto - in which case we could all use that argument. I'd badly like to retrain for a new career but can't afford to. So I could say that prostitution is my 'only choice'. I just hope if I took that route I wouldn't then bleat that I'd been exploited.
