The photos of Jade on the cover of todays papers make me feel quite sad, time for the press to step back

She looks very poorly in them.
I hope the press will now leave her alone with her children as from the photos I think her time is slipping away quite fast now.
I think she has achieved what she wanted now, awareness of this terrible illness and a secure financial future for her sons.

Made me think how lucky I am and how fragile life is.

I hope she gets what she needs now.

I just can't believe it, that she's actually dying. It's like the press have decided that her story has reached its momentum and now would be a good time for her to die. But it doesn't work like that does it!?

Is she really at death's door now? She could go on for months! Or am I just not absorbing the obvious?

2shoes · 16/03/2009 22:07

her poor boys
I hope they get time alon with her.
those moments will be what they remember when they are older. I doubt if they will care about the money.

Twinklemegan · 16/03/2009 22:08

I never get taken in by celebrity rubbish, but I was actually quite affected by seeing the headlines this morning. Yes it's all a bit too personal for comfort, but you know what - I don't think it's all bad. Since when has the news ever been comfortable reading?

I actually agree with cestlavie that in some ways I'd rather see this in the papers than most of the other crap. This is drawing people's attention, and certainly my thoughts, to all the families who go through this and suffer in silence. It's making me appreciate and be thankful for what I have. At least, unlike most tabloid rubbish, there is a chance it will do some good in the long run.

ps

I can imagine that living through the camera (as well as just living) would add an extra dimension, and possibly for a person who was insecure, it would make them feel more alive (before they finally die). It's really sad.

I agree with c'estlavie though. Death is a part of life. And why should we be so appalled to witness it? I'm not. I feel a bit sad for her, but not offended by her death or by her lack of 'dignity'. Death would terrify me so much I would lose dignity to feel alive, to feel more alive for a little bit longer.

5inthebed · 16/03/2009 22:24

I'm not appalled at witnessing death. Death doesn't scare me. Its the way that the press are hounding this poor womans last minutes with her family that is appalling.

it's dreadful

2shoes · 16/03/2009 22:34

I don't buy the press hounding her stuff...
she has relished it and openly maed money from it.
you can't just say enough.
thats life.
I feel for her boys
but she made her choices.

BatmansWilly · 16/03/2009 22:35

solidgoldbrass, that is so odd, I was thinking the exact same thing. It certainly wouldn't suprise me.

beanieb · 16/03/2009 22:38

No one has taken unauthorised pictures of her since she came out of hospital. she isn't being hounded now. she is dying.

Her family will possibly be hounded, after she has died. Perhaps then we should be getting our knickers in a twist because there is the potential there for her kids to be hounded in the future.

hope not.

She's about to die, maybe we shouldn't be having these conversations. What's it got to do with us anyway?

2shoes · 16/03/2009 22:40

I hope her boys arn't. I am sure we will see lots of Jack the pratt.

BatmansWilly · 16/03/2009 22:41

It wouldn't have anything to do with us if it hadn't been pushed in our faces for the past few months. They have chosen to make it our business.

2shoes · 16/03/2009 22:43

true

edam · 16/03/2009 22:56

poor girl.

Twinklemegan · 16/03/2009 23:00

The media makes most of its money out of death and suffering. I think it's a bit hypocritical to get hett up about this one instance tbh.

MargotBeauregarde · 16/03/2009 23:00

2shoes, I don't they'll ever see Jack again after Jade dies.

I think Jeff Brazier is a decent enough guy. I think after Jade dies, it'll be adios Jack.

NotAnOtter · 16/03/2009 23:01

c'estlavie i agree

death should not be so taboo

whatever you the reader/mumsnetter thinks about what Jade is doing and why...

Jade herself is doing it for her boys. Rightly or wrongly she believes it is right and in my book thats good enough ....

All that matters is her and her babies

Ponders · 16/03/2009 23:09

If you look at those pictures of her coming out of hospital to go home she is thin & yellow & ill

I hope her boys will continue to see Jack after Jade dies, & that there won't be any of those awful family wrangles. Jeff Brazier seems like a decent guy, & Jack appears to have grown up a lot the last few weeks; he is only 21 after all.

The situation is tragic for the whole family.

NotAnOtter · 16/03/2009 23:10

well now she has died

you can all keep on bitching if you want

Ponders · 16/03/2009 23:11

Oh bloody hell

beanieb · 16/03/2009 23:11

"It wouldn't have anything to do with us if it hadn't been pushed in our faces for the past few months. They have chosen to make it our business." not if you don't want it to be.

Ah. Oh well, at least I didn't put that bet on.

beanieb · 16/03/2009 23:13

sorry - she has died?

let this be and end to it?

abbierhodes · 16/03/2009 23:17

Where has the info that she has died come from? It isn't on the news.
