No men on women's hospital wards - Good!

Trans women (men) don't want to be on wards with men, but they are quite happy to inflict themselves onto women's wards, no matter how uncomfortable that makes real women. Make it make sense!

OP posts:

We’re not phobic though @Merkins, stop with that bullshit as it doesn’t wash anymore!

Except they are not able to rape?

Most keep the Penis.
So yes. They can.

I wonder if this is because pre-Op, the person is chasing the dream, and thinks that surgery will fix everything? Then they get it all done, and they still don't feel content, and for Trans women, they also now have a huge painful wound to attend to.

It seems to be a combination of untreated MH problems that lead to the body dismorphia in the 1st place worsening over time along with the realisation that the promised cure from medical transition doesn't materialise and the life long harms caused by the "treatments" and surgeries they have had.
Most post op trans identifying males are left with atleast some leval of urinary incontinence aswell as sexual disfunction, pain, loss of sensation, repeat infection, wound degradation and smell along with many other issues including hair growing out of their wounds.
Tbh its all really rather sad that anyone has been allowed to go down this path and its scandalous that we the taxpayers have been forced to pay for it because the NHS has been giving out PBs, cross sex hormones and surgeries all whilst affirming the disordered thought process behind it

They’ll all end up on the corridor anyway—many do. There is a very severe bed shortage, because successive governments cut bed numbers to save money.

Exactly. My relative who is a transplant patient, had sepsis and pneumonia was on a filthy freezing corridor for 3 days last time he was blue lighted in. Along with all the other seriously ill patients.

Again, wow.

I am a trans person with a broken leg - psych ward.
I am a trans person with sepsis - psych ward.
I am a trans person with leukaemia - psych ward.

FFS.

I wonder this too. When I was on a ward after having a baby I became delirious after the lack of sleep due to other people and constant noise etc it was making me ill.
When I had a private room I recovered far quicker.

Yep same. With my 2nd, I paid for a private room, as when I had my first, it was so noisy, and Dads were allowed to stay overnight on the ward, which was ridiculous - you are at your most vunerable, bleeding, looking after a baby and also trying to recover, and there are men wandering around, chatting on phones, bringing in smelly food and walking into incorrect bed spaces. Was awful!

I agree with you there, the psych ward isn't appropriate unless they're in for a psych issue.

The correct sex ward for their ailment is where they should be.

Is it?
I thought this whole conversation was about trans women on women's wards.

How the fuck are we supposed to know if they've still got a cock ?!?

Is a nurse going to do a daily announcement? ''Ladies ! Just to confirm - it's ok, the man in bed 4 has had his dick cut off so ...''.

And - in fact so what? Statistics show we're actually LESS safe with trans women dick or not.

I don't want a man in a ward with me, our sisters, our daughters or our mothers.

Bushmillsbabe · 16/10/2026 11:50

Orangerowanberries · 16/10/2026 10:59

Wards (except ICU) are meant to be single sex already - the problem here is the NHS has been breaking the law by saying men can be put on women’s ward and use women’s facilities if they want to.

Bays are supossed to be single sex.

Wards can be mixed sex, so men and women are still in close proximity and have access to each other, just not sleeping next to each other

I don't really care.
No more men with rot pockets and mental health issues on women's wards.
Sounds like things are finally getting put back to how they should be.

Yes, if you follow my conversation back you will see it was in response to certain quoted posts about how a trans man would be vulnerable on a men's ward because of the risk of rape.

Not hateful or stereotyping of trans women at all eye roll

You can uphold women's rights to single sex spaces without stooping this low, you know.

I think it is safe to say that the majority of women are finally sick enough of this shit to speak out and say 'No'.

Its taken at least 10 years to be able to call men 'men' without immediately being banned for life.

What a fucking waste of everyone's time and effort.

Cascadia · 16/10/2026 12:00

Hoardasurass · 16/10/2026 11:08

Wards are not supposed to be mixed sex in the uk, theres a legal requirement for single sex wards and a mandatory reporting system for breaches.
There are exceptions for wards like ICU where mixed sex wards are a medical necessity

I wonder if the hospital I was in (St Georges) was just breaking the law then. It was the general surgical ward and seemed to be set up as mixed sex as there were mens and womens loos and showers (labelled as such) on the ward. Has the law changed on this recently?

AIiswatchingyou · 16/10/2026 12:00

@Merkins If your sibling was assaulted on a male ward, why would you not be 'coming for' the men who assaulted them?

Why would you infer that you would attack women rather than men??

Lack of courage maybe?

nzborn · 16/10/2026 12:02

Kiwi here, I remember being wheeled onto a side ward while awaiting surgery, the hospital was having renovations and they were throwing people everywhere.
As soon as I got one the ward I said to my son, close the Curtains as 4 out off 6 of us were male. Not long after a nurse asked me if I could open my curtains as it was spoiling the view of the person nextdoor, I said yes if they put pajama pants on, hospitals provide night wear and all the men were walking around in their underwear.
My son didn't want to leave me alone in the ward as he said If they got wandering around at night it's not the old lady they will visit but me
So our male relatives are also not happy with men on women's ward's or mixed wards.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 16/10/2026 12:04

Even practically, if transwomen, transmen and women are all on the women's ward due to male on female or male on male violence, how does this help with a bed shortage?

Bit like the queue for the women's toilets really. Everyone going to the ladies really doesn't work. We are just expected to step aside, accept more risk and accommodate all and sundry🤔

StarChild07 · 16/10/2026 12:05

Can we stop using the term ‘trans women’ as there’s no such thing, they’re men.

It’s extremely simple, women don’t want men in any of their safe spaces, sports, prisons etc, regardless of where they are surgery wise, it matters not.

The problem stems from men thinking they can trample all over the rights of women. What they don’t like is women standing up for those rights.

Years ago, we were polite, we put up with the odd man who might enter our spaces. Fast forward to this huge movement, where any Tom, Dick (still with a dick, or Harry (with a fetish) demanded that they need to be validated and the only way to do this is to use women’s facilities, take part in women only events, be housed in women’s prisons, the horror of seeing some of these men ‘chest feeding’ chemicals to newborns, the Doctor who insisted he could only change in the women’s locker rooms, etc etc. It had to stop and thankfully, in the UK at least, the Supreme Court didn’t go along with it and wasn’t captured like so many other institutions.

We’re getting there slowly.

BashfulClam · 16/10/2026 12:07

What I have noticed is it’s always trans women out there screaming about discrimination and being ‘real women’. Yet you rarely hear trans men (female to male transition) doing the same.

Where are the trans people in this thread saying horrible things about women's bodies and minds?

My premise throughout this thread is simply that putting trans people on their natal sex ward is not a simple solution. In some cases it just shifts the risk. Which doesn't mean I think trans people should go on wards of their declared gender, just that there's further thinking to be done to enable privacy and dignity for all.

That doesn't mean it's women's problem to solve: it's the NHS's. But women on here talking about rot pockets and psych wards is just zealotry of a different type. The vast vast majority of trans people are just people, often autistic people, quietly living their lives in a way that they feel makes most sense for them. Like the transman in the deli and the transwoman at the corner shop in my local town.

I am neither startlingly naive (yes I have many times seen "terf is a slur" and wire covered baseball bats) nor starry eyed. I just know trans people have an equal right to privacy and dignity, even when sick, as any other person.

Merkins · 16/10/2026 10:56

If my sister is assaulted on a male ward then I will come for all of the transphobes who made it possible. No question.

Women who want single sex spaces based on biological sex do not cause men to sexually assault women and other men. Why not 'go for' the perpetrators of these crimes, or the people who have failed to protect patients within the environment the law says they belong?
