The Restore Britain March seems to have gone pretty well today from what I can glean online.

It could be a faulty algorithm, but the trouble the PM seemed to think would happen doesn’t seem to have materialised. I’ve seen clips from the march where a diverse mix of people have marched, not just football hooligan types.

The Anglo-Saxons were praying to Thunor and Woden long before before Christianity arrived, so stop trying to force your foreign religion on us.

The Celts were praying to Brigantia and Manon long before the anglo-saxons turned up. Stop trying to force your foreign religion on us.

Its pretty concerning that this many (educated) people of either gender are getting behind a far right extremist thug in a march ironically called unite the kingdom

And this sums it up for me
Although people voting for reform is despairing I dont call them racist or far right
I am sure many of the people from the march arent either
But they consciously attended a march organised by someone who is far right and vile. I am not sure how they can justify that
And the led by donkeys clip is hilarious

Welsh nationalist=proud of their country and traditions.
Scottish nationalist= proud of their country and traditions.
English nationalist=bigoted little Englander, football hooligan and racist.
No wonder there's a backlash.

I’ve since been told it was called the Unite Britain march so I screwed up the title.

Oh. Sounds like it's a march to discourage devolution of Scotland and Wales then.

Welsh and Scottish nationalist movements are about devolution and independence as well as pride in culture and traditions.

Plaid and the SNP are left leaning and embrace multiculturalism.

English nationalism as practised by Farage and Lowe and Robinson has moved way beyond pride in culture and traditions. It has become about seeing being white English/British as superior and wanting other cultures out or blaming them for the UKs ills. It has embraced far right thinking. It has become white nationalism.

As ever, pictures can tell the story for us. Compare and contrast Plaid Cymru, SNP and Unite the Kingdom marches.

Have a lovely day!

Also, there have been loads of photos of men from Tommy Robinson's march pissing opening in the street, but not a single one of any public urination from the people on the Nakba Day march.

Maybe not all of the Unite the Kingdom march are racist and far right, but many of them are as well as being disgusting and uncouth.

123H · 18/05/2026 09:34

Family Friendly???? WTF

Muslim women being mocked and humIliated on stage … did you miss that?

Yaxley-Lennon saying he would deport ALL immigrants … did you miss that?

Yaxley-Lennon proclaiming on stage that British men should get themselves ‘fit and ready’ for the ‘fight of their lives’ because there’s ‘going to be a fight in this country’ … did you miss that?

People who attend and support Yaxley-Lennon rallies know exactly what the agenda is. Those who pretend it’s just a ‘nice family day out’ are fooling no-one.

Sickening!

Well they don’t even need to as much as they don’t drink so much alcohol pre and during the March. It’s definitely not the real reason I don’t drink pre or during marches but at my age particularly it would be a huge consideration ha!

Also, at least on Saturday, shops let us use their toilets at the end of the route at least, if not more - this is much less likely on the right side route. We are also not totally the disorganised mess folk think we are - some folk take a map with potential toilets identified on it!

Mainly I do think the alcohol causes a lot of these issues.

I've never peed in public at a pro Palestine march. Your comments are completely unnecessary

Are you just looking for attention at this point and trying to be provocative? Looks like it. I've marched for Scottish independence several times too.

If someone is a hooligan they will be one drunk or sober.

Oh definitely- I never accept alcohol as an excuse for certain behaviours, as I do think your actions are already something you think are pretty ok, just quietly in your own head when sober - alcohol just lowers inhibitions in acting on them though.

Then some are loud and proud in their views and act on them drunk or sober - which maybe is more honest - but if their views/actions are abhorrent they are always so whether only apparent in drink or when sober as well.

I can’t quite believe what I just saw - abhorrent, my usual go to word, just doesn’t begin to cover it 😞

English nationalist with EDL tattooed on the back of his head, wearing a a tshirt with the logo 'If this flag upsets you then fuck off' pissing in the street and dropping lager cans whilst chanting 'The PM is a wanker. That's a different thing isn't it?

Someone on the comments said that it was interesting that that's acceptable - and not an offence - while people can get arrested for wearing a T shirt that says Palestine action.

SpryTaupeTurtle · 18/05/2026 10:32

I also think it's quite funny that I'm being called out for having marched in support of Palestine when the Unite the Kingdom March displayed blatant Islamophobia in plain sight

Araminta1003 · 18/05/2026 10:34

I don’t have time to read the thread, have to actually do some work.

The Metropolitan Police did an amazing job this weekend, and I am immensely grateful for all of them who gave up their time. And we Londoners had to pay 5 million for this shit.

So frankly, I am sick and tired of all the marches, whatever side you are on. And I reserve the right to not take sides in either camp. And increasingly, to me, that seems to be the most important thing. The right to be on neither side and condemn them both.

As a parent, I am as scared of my kids being brain washed by either side. And as a taxpayer, I am fed up with it all!

So that is that,

I'm not from London and I don't march in London. No one is asking you to take sides or support any march but people should have the right to peaceful protest, the operative word being peaceful - there have always been marches. This is nothing new.

selffellatingouroborosofhate · 18/05/2026 10:41

SpryTaupeTurtle · 17/05/2026 13:40

This is absurd nonsense. Labour aren't even left wing. Why do you think Scotland stopped voting Labour in huge numbers after 2015.

Read the post I was replying to.

right-wing and left-wing politics are two cheeks of the same arse

They are, for the reasons I gave.

I didn't mention Labour, neither did the poster I was replying to. Labour are, at most, centre-left.

Araminta1003 · 18/05/2026 10:42

You do not need to “march”. The right to protest can be met by peaceful assembly in one safe cordoned off area. So the rest of us do not have to keep paying up nor be disrupted by the shenanigans.

People have been marching for generations. Not just regarding Robinson or Palestine. I also sense that you're trying to suggest that no one who marches is a taxpayer - you'd be wrong there

I don't disagree with you but £5million, all the police and other administrators who gave up their family time and travelled miles to attend, all the litter/people who had to clear it up too seems a lot. There's a huge opportunity cost there.

It's a high price to achieve what exactly?

I wonder what the aims of the Unite rally were and if the organisers/foreign funders feel they achieved those aims (and was it worth the cost to the society they say they seek to unite?
