The Restore Britain March seems to have gone pretty well today from what I can glean online.

It could be a faulty algorithm, but the trouble the PM seemed to think would happen doesn’t seem to have materialised. I’ve seen clips from the march where a diverse mix of people have marched, not just football hooligan types.

Word fail me. Tommy Robinson's family day out?
I was in London during the last one. I've never seen so much hate. Not reasonable people at all.

How racist. You know nothing of the people on the Unite the Kingdom march (some of whom were Iranians, for I saw the lion flag flying, and they were very likely not born here) and you don't seem very invested in the kingdom either. The people marched for Alfred and Ethandun, for Arthur, for Harold and William the Bastard, for Magna Carta and King Cnut (and his waves) and the Provisions of Oxford, for the Act of Settlement and the Bills of Right (2, one English, one Scots), for the flowers of the forest and the anti-slavery movement, for trades unionism and the Red Flag, to remember that governments should not seek windows into men's and women's souls, for the Civil War and the overthrow of tyrants, for the Pretenders who failed, that crofters should have rights, to remember Boudicca and her daughters...
Any of it ring a bell with you?

Edited

Unite the Kingdom. But you are celebrating the English civil war. A war that was about overthrowing the Monarchy and succeeded.

The Pretenders who failed ? You are marching to celebrate them ? So you want to unite the Kingdom but are celebrating 2 uprisings against it.

Crofters ? So you support the SNP and it's pro crofting policy? But that can't be so, given how it was the aristocracy that done the clearances.

You marched for trade unions too. Ahh, so you are labour then.

And you are marching for both Harold and William ? Were they not the leaders of opposite sides in 1066?

Why not throw in William Wallace too. One more contradiction won't do any harm I suppose. Robert the Bruce, 1314 ? Add the Romans too.

After all, what have the Romans ever done for us ?

NeuroticGingerCat · 16/05/2026 22:27

Because Starmer banned them

Well, it was a march against foreigners wasn't it ?

It's a bit odd that they wanted to import speakers.

In fact, is Tommy ten names not Irish these days ? Or is he trying for a Spanish passport ?

As I see it I'm happy for anyone to come to our country if they don't have a criminal record, aren't wanted for crimes in their country(we have enough bloody criminals of our own),aren't cunts(because once again we have enough of our own)and our happy enough to live side by side with people of different ethnicitys, different religions, different beliefs and different ways of living.

I love being from here because of how diverse our country is and how diverse we all are.

As for the dick heads doing nazi salutes my Grandad fought in WW1 and WW2 and he would have been ashamed of anyone doing that least of all someone from our country, absolute scum the lot of them.

The thing that astonishes me is the way the people who are anti the Unite the Kingdom idea seem to view those people. Firstly they label them as stupid, and when that doesn’t work they label them as hateful and driven by hate. Now I have friends very on the left who feel so full of emotions for what they believe, and I don’t agree with them but I know that they are coming from a good place. Why don’t they have the emotional intelligence to understand that people with different views can also be driven by good things - patriotism is love for ones country. These are people who want to protect their freedom, culture, values and history. They care about their daughters and children. They are largely centrists who have seen the pendulum swing too far left and are ultimately trying to bring it back. If in 20 years time things change they may swing the other way. As politics goes (I would be a liberal if I lived in North Korea!) It’s all about context.
Now to me, that is a lack of intelligence and understanding more than anything else I can see on the ‘right’. But people need to wake up and see that these people are NOT ‘far right extremists’.

keepswimming38 · 17/05/2026 05:39

When I did my MA in Education about 10 years ago I looked at the group most disillusioned with the education system, most likely to fall behind. It was white British men. Now here they all are marching wanting their Britain back. Infact what they want back is time, they fell behind, teachers punished them, they became bitter.

TonyGallaSoInLoveNsoul · 17/05/2026 06:11

@Wishing14 the marchers may not all be far right extremists.
But the organisers are and also a good percentage of the participants.
The extreme far right have used the tactics they're employing now for decades.
The women and children bit is used because it's emotive a building block to get people to engage them introduce more ideology.

I've previously explained how I recognise extreme fat right rhetoric and symbolism and that has been used just as it was by the NF,BNPC18,Blood and Honour etc.

I was on the fringes of the extreme far right in the 90s and I held very extreme views and voiced them in a way that would be classed as racial hate crimes now
It's was skins in the 70s,80s,90s football firms encouraged by BNP C18 upto date the disenfranchised of the country it's easier to spread the message now with tech
But the message is always the same.

Cannon fodder being used to do the dirty work.
These people aren't out to help you and your families.
Their kind is the rich kind.

Yes it appears to have been a peaceful, family oriented day from what I can see on X.

Certainly not ‘far right thugs’ as Starmer talked about.

Luckily, the police arrested one of the far-right thugs, Ryan Bridge, as soon as he arrived on suspicion of wounding in relation to a hit-and-run in Birmingham.

Someone posted a photo of a couple of women with a huge banner on X saying 'If Jimmy Savile was a black muslim non-binary lesbian, he would of (sic) got away with it' and as someone commented, he actually did get away with it. They certainly aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer. They are racist though.

Some demonstrators distributed flyers saying they wanted to secure “a future for white people”. The leaflet said: “In a country saturated with degenerates, grifters and imported political enemies … We are a brotherhood of White Europeans who share the same values.” So a cohort of white supremacists were welcomed.

There were 30 arrests so not entirely peaceful. I don't think that many normal people would think that this was a lovely family day out for their kids.

thepariscrimefiles · 17/05/2026 06:29

BatchCookBabe · 16/05/2026 21:12

This doesn't mean they're not well educated sensible people who welcome diversity. Confused

No matter how much you want it to.

You may love Starmer, but you are in a VERY tiny minority my dear..... Wink

Do you really think that people who object to Tommy Robinson and his far-right thugs all love Starmer?

They might not all be but many are and the organiser(s) certainly is, didn't he recently attack someone at a railway station? and his name Tommy Robinson taken from a Luton football hooligan he admires.

Largely Centralists? lol that cheered me on this showery morning.

They are primarily the sort of people who would drown cross channel migrants.

Quote : " Why don’t they have the emotional intelligence to understand that people with different views can also be driven by good things - patriotism is love for ones country."

So you are saying your friends on the left don't have emotional intelligence. Do you mean they are "child like" ? And then you define what patriotism, I assume because you see that as a good value ?

So people on the left, that is leftists, often debate what mix of capitalism and socialism they think society should be. What should be considered public services, How the interaction between public and private should work. All that boring political stuff. Throw in human rights and equality etc and mix it all together. And that is a leftie.

Next Quote :" They are largely centrists who have seen the pendulum swing too far left and are ultimately trying to bring it back."

This confuses me. Because we have just had 14 years or the Tories, and now it is labour. When did the pendulum swing left ? Who swung it left ? The Tories ? It can't be Starmer. I don't think he has done any big left wing stuff yet. Although he has started to Nationalise British Steel. That's a left wing policy.

Last quote :"But people need to wake up and see that these people are NOT ‘far right extremists’."

But if people wake up, they are called "woke".

This is why I am confused by this march. I can't see the political message. It's a mish mash.

Wishing14 · 17/05/2026 06:38

It’s not racist to want controlled immigration and to believe that the current rates are getting out of hand and not conducive to a well-integrated society. It’s not racist to want to retain your culture and values and to want immigrants to integrate, speak the local language, respect local ways of life. And you can be proud of your roots and history, all people can be, black, Asian and INCLUDING white people and celebrating white history. You cannot say one is ok and the other is not. British people are tolerant and accepting and that IS part of our culture. It’s one of the many things that people want to protect. And many immigrants from other cultural backgrounds do not share those views of tolerance.

thepariscrimefiles · 17/05/2026 06:43

Hunterova · 16/05/2026 22:06

So much contempt on this thread for human beings that are white and British and therefore a safe target. Nobody here would dare to speak so contemptuously of black groups of men or immigrant groups of men.
They safe position of feeling comfy bullying white people is contributing to the demise of the two party system.
safe liberal guilt - ridden doormatism is ending its reign in a sea of snobbish dismay that non naice people are finally objecting to be trodden on.

Are you joking? The people on this white supremacist racist march deserve our opprobrium and ridicule, irrespective of the colour of their skin. I have contempt for their horrible views and opinions. Their skin colour is irrelevant. Tommy Robinson is a far-right, racist thug with many criminal convictions. I have a massive amount of contempt for him and that certainly doesn't make me a bully.

Immigration is down to around 200k per year, much of which will be students and others on limited Visa's, now there is an argument to be made to increase enforcement but that is being done by Labour but it costs and no one wants any form of mandatory ID that would help in finding people here illegally.

Perhaps you can suggest ways in which x channel migration can be stopped? Especially as its the very people who were on the march yesterday that gave us Brexit, which removed the means to remove migrants back to the EU.

British history and culture is celebrated all the time, i don't your reasoning on this at all.

We voted for Brexit, got rid of all those "nasty Polish plumbers & evil care workers"

Did Farage go away? nope, the far right never will until they end up destroying everything we have & we eventually wake up to what they really want.

Not a coincidence.

Oh no! I have quite a few 8s in my date of birth. I had to give my details for a medical appointment the other day and the guy on the phone said that he hoped I didn't mind him saying how great my DOB was. I thought it was a bit odd but naively assumed 8 was his lucky number or some similar harmless nonsense. I now realise he is probably a Hitler loving, arsehole fascist. I feel quite sad about that.

TonyGallaSoInLoveNsoul · 17/05/2026 07:14

@Shoola your dob was created by your parents and they and your life experiences have shaped you into the person you are today so the 8s had hand in it.

bylinetimes.com/2026/05/08/rick-wilsons-warning-from-america-nigel-farage-will-be-your-donald-trump-unless-you-act-now/

From the article

Nigel Farage spent years on the payroll of RT. Russia Today, the Kremlin’s English-language psy-op channel, kept him hopping, making appearance after appearance until the British government finally banned the thing in 2022 because it turned out broadcasting Russian state propaganda during a war of aggression was, weirdly, bad.

He met privately with Alexander Yakovenko, then the Russian ambassador to London, in 2013, and then denied meeting him until photographic evidence forced a memory upgrade. Yakovenko was later identified in Parliament’s own Russia Report as a Kremlin influence operator, and was reportedly so pleased with his London tour that, upon recall to Moscow, he toasted having “crushed the British to the ground.”

Asked by GQ which world leader he most admired, Farage said Putin. He
defended the annexation of Crimea. His closest MEP ally for years, Nathan Gill, was convicted at the Old Bailey of taking bribes from a pro-Russian Ukrainian operator working with Putin’s man in Kyiv.

Reform UK’s single largest donor at £9 million, the biggest political gift in modern British history, has financial entanglements with a video platform that has hosted Russian state broadcasters and a U.S. Justice Department-exposed Kremlin influence operation.

Now, Farage will tell you he is a patriot. He will wave the Union Jack so hard it generates its own breeze. He will tell you he loves Britain. And perhaps in some way, he believes it. But here is the only sentence you need to remember:
The man who is about to inherit your country has spent twenty years on the wrong side of the war for Europe’s future.

Well said. Farage is one of the Kremlin’s useful idiots. The whole Brexit disaster was part of a Kremlin plan to destabilise Europe. No one plays the long game better than Putin. Warnings twenty years ago about his actual ambitions and motives were ignored by most western politicians who were desperate to believe that they could work with him. And now look where we are.
