I don’t understand why Jewish people are being persecuted in this country. What is wrong with people?

Lets go back shall we?

This is a post on page one of this thread, ' Because Israel is bombing Palestine amongst other countries. This is the clear reason.'

Yeah, that is an anti-Semitic reply that is condoning violence against British Jews.

Jews are being attacked because people are racist. If you wanted to be more specific the reply would be, ' Jews are being murdered because the muslims murdering them are racist' being as all the attempted and completed murders have been by Muslims so far. You might want to look at the reasons why Muslims in particular are committing the murders, but your focus should be on the actions of the murderers. That is the beginining and end of it, just like it was when Muslims were attacked by white people during the IS terror attacks. We knew then that answering the question ' why are muslims being attacked' with, ' 'because there are Muslim terrorists' was racist.

But now, people like you, are pretending that putting racist murders 'in context' is somehow not racist.

No one is putting murders 'in context', fgs. Read the OPs question. Why are these attacks happening?

It was one of the ideas / possible explanations put forward by a PP.

Of course they are not. Nobody is suggesting this.

This is not justification - people on here are trying to find clarity.

No, try again.

“People on here are trying to find clarity” Are they really?
Or are they looking for a way to blame Israel for the attacks on British Jews?

The attacks are happening because extremists in the left wing are obsessed with the evils committed by Israel and have fuelled anti semitism here in Britain with their anti Zionist rhetoric.

Because of longstanding antisemitism in Islam and the far left. Antisemitism is also the reason for the 7 Oct terror attack that started the war - Hamas' mandate that Israel and the Jewish people be destroyed.

This is the sort of thing that has demonstrates how widespread and normalised antisemitism has become

British Jews are supportive of Israel?? I’m a British Jew and I’m not supportive of Israel…

Perhaps you surveyed every British Jew except me. Maybe I was out of town that day?

The real issue is that being supportive of Israel, or any other state, or any other political opinion, or any other opinion, is not a reason to be murdered.

Its pretty fundamental to hold onto that value rather than get dragged into the violent man's mentality by arguing whether or not you hold the view that makes them want to kill or hurt people.

Well you seemed to think its because random citizens are paying the price for BN crimes, and because Israel has been left unchecked for too long. That was the post you agreed with.

Rather than because antisemitism is on the rise again, like it has been many times in the past thousands of years, and once again the reason is because of other Jews.

Gosh it's almost like you think on some level Israel is to blame for antisemitic crimes. Rather than the antisemites themselves.

Every single generation of antisemites think they've found the one true reason for vilifying Jewish people. Its as old as the hills.

Only question left in my mind is why its socially acceptable?

Do you have comprehension difficulties? Or maybe you don't understand what the word context means?

Asking ' why are the attacks happening' means putting them in the context of what it happening. Rather obviously. And people throughout this thread have been very explicitly putting them in the context of the ME conflict. As in the example I gave in the post you have quoted here.

The only context is the racism of the people doing the murdering. But remarkable few on this thread seem interested in that, preferring to focus on the ' context' of the ethnic group that are being attacked. And that's anti-Semitism in action.

Ohjailer · Yesterday 15:04

Tbh I think this thread illustrates how widespread and normalised anti-Semitism has become.

Though that exhibition is wildly anti-Semitic and completely vile.

Ironically the thread has unknowingly done exactly what it was intended to do- showed why Jewish people are persecuted in the uk.

It's a fucking disgrace.

Because Netanyahu is using the Jewish diaspora as a pawn or excuse to continue his actions in Gaza.

He knows that what he’s doing will lead to these other Jews (supporters of his or not) receiving backlash, and can then turn around and point at this to try to justify himself.

Many people are easily manipulated, hence why this is working.

Edited

I actually missed this one.

Benjamin Netanyahu is actually the one manipulating antisemitic people to go out and attack Jewish people? And hes such an evil sorry manipulative genius that hes able to do this without anyone (apart from you of course) actually realizing he's the one behind it all? So its all a massive false flag operation ?

Did I get that right?

Everything that is bad, has been created by Jews secretly working manipulatively behind the scenes to create it.

That is the anti-Semitic trope that poster is feeding off. She probably thinks she is not anti-Semitic though.

The only bit you’ve got wrong is that I’m the only person with this view.

I’m glad you agree.
It’s worth questioning why Israel gets all the attention when there are much more horrific atrocities occurring elsewhere.
That is not to say Netanyahu shouldn’t be criticised - but there is a massive double standard when it comes to Israel and Jews

@Owlinthewods I love how this anti-Semite digs to the bottom of the barrel to pull out one random story from Israel with absolutely no understanding of whether it was actually committed by a Jewish person and says see!!! See!!! Christians and Jews are not at war with one another.

I really don’t have to worry about how you judge me. Jesus will do that. He’ll judge us all.
Hatred is all around. My point is, why are we so shocked at these events. It happens the world over between religions.
It’s not safe for Christian’s in Israel and it’s not safe for Jews in the UK.
Im genuinely sorry my link to the news article upset you.
Shalom.

Owlinthewods · Yesterday 20:25

SallySooo · Yesterday 05:37

@Owlinthewodshave you been to Israel? Where are Jews persecuting Christian’s??? And anyway why are you saying Jews and not Israelis?

My mistake. I didn’t say Israeli's because I don’t know where they’re from. It’s Jewish people in Israel with Christian people in Israel. I have no idea if they reside there or are visiting.
I haven’t been - I’m holding off on a pilgrimage until it’s safer. I do have a clergy friend who’s been a few times and it was tense before the war. I don’t fancy being attacked for my faith, as I’m pretty sure Jewish people don’t in the uk!
As you can imagine, it’s hard to balance the three main Abrahamic religions because there will always be an underlying tension between some.
Me personally, I’m not bothered by Jewish people or Muslim people and stating facts is not anti-Semite - it’s stating a fact. There is hatred - why are we shocked? It’s a reasonable statement that you have taken to calling me anti semite. 🤷‍♀️

There are many many worse places in the world for a Christian than Israel.
I’d much prefer to be Christian in Israel than in Somalia, Sudan, Eritrea, Libya , Yemen , Nigeria Pakistan or China or North Korea

You know Christians are being persecuted in Israel by Jewish person because someone you know went there and it was "tense"?

Well you're clearly the expert.

Yes Jewish people being persecuted in the UK - which is what this thread is actually about - does make some people quite cross.
