No the mums aren't feckless parents, the absent fathers are, but the mums chose to have kids with them.

Sometimes there is a level of discipline in the home but if another person/authority figure/victim calls out the bad behaviour, then the parents get defensive, side with their child and will enable it.

@Carla786 live music is no longer accessible to teenagers because so many venues, especially the small grassroots venues which host affordable shows, are now strictly 18+. My DS is a huge music fan but at 15 he simply can’t see the vast majority of bands he is into. It’s gutting.

I live in Chicago and we started seeing this annoying trend a year or 2 ago and we've already had a couple of so called teen takeovers this spring. It's a shame that this has now spread to the UK via social media and I don't know how parents can be held accountable but something needs to be done.

They were running and jumping over parked cars destroying many of them, and then you also end up with rival teens seeing each other and clashing leading to fights, injuries and in some cases death.

Can’t they mass in a gated area and fight it out amongst themselves à la football hooligans? Intimidating the public, nay, assaulting people as well as stealing and vandalising property is not “kids’ japes” - it’s criminality.

I agree but then as you say they won’t have the extra ‘fun’ of intimidating the public and robbing shops.

The one way to find out who these kids parents are is to round them all up and give them a consequence. That would flush the parents and relatives out in a heart beat as they’d be claiming victimhood and wanting compensation for the distress of their babies.

They would demand they were compensated for the clothes and cry that the paint stung their children’s faces. It’s not worth it.

One of the commentators i saw giving an interview on one of the breakfast shows said it was a class issue. Apparently if loads of private school educated kids went and did similar it would be called ‘high jinx.’ Because of the demographic involved its racism.

These same kids are top of the line for work placements, internships and whatnot.

Has that money worked though if black boys are still more likely to go to the wrong side of the tracks? There clearly need to be other measures.

Teen pregnancy has fallen a lot . I think it's unfair to assume adult women are necessarily choosing partners who are obviously unreliable from the get-go. You can see just from threads on here that men can seem like good partners until the kids come along.

Obviously women need to be careful in their choice of partner, but if there is a large number of black men are inappropriate as partners, this an issue black men need to sort out.

I work in retail and increasingly the "shoplifters" are getting bloody younger and somehow even more cocky than the addict beggar adults who do it 🙄😡 I've come to the conclusion tantbas my mum used to say "clearly they were dragged up not raised" 🙄🤔

Tbh I imagine the parents of these little deliquents are probably the same parents who give their kids teachers abuse when they dare call out their darling child's shitty aggressive abusive behaviour...

Honestly don’t go too far the other way and demonise all teens. My friends lovely son was thrown out of a shop and shouted at he was mortified and had done nothing wrong.

Obviously there is some bad parenting involved here, but my experience of youth court, where parents are required to attend with the child who has been accused of an offence, is that the best parenting in the world can go right out the window once your child gets sucked into a bad peer group.

That’s actually the point the commentator was making she was saying it’s not a race issue but class one.
