just heard on the radio that some feckless mothr left her 2 year old alone for the whole weekend while she went to stay with her boyfriend! appara police found the toddler in a dirty vest and nappy crying for help. being charged with neglect, cruelty etc. God help us. She should be neutered!!

FioFio i was a young mum (21 when i had DS1) and i would never have done that, i don't think it has anything to do with age i think some people are just that selfish, ignorant, horrible, uncaring etc etc that they don't think of the consequences

anything (even worse than what did) could have happened to him while he was on his own

I saw this in the local paper earlier this week. I couldn't sleep thinking about it It makes me feel sick that someone could think this is ok - I wouldn't leave dd on her own for 2 minutes but a whole weekend??!! It beggars belief

just imagine if no-one had found him. How many times would she have gon on to do this?

This has made me cry...the thought of how slow the time must have gone for that poor little soul, just wanting a drink, some food and cuddles...not to mention wearing a dirty nappy all weekend.....

there was a case in my local papaer last year where a woman went out to celebrate her 21st birthday and left her 18month son home alone.she thought it would be ok as he was asleep in his cot.luckily someone who knew her saw her out and went to her house,then rang the police when there was no answer.
