Absolutely shocking attack at the Heaton Park Synagogue in Crumpsall North Manchester. My heart goes out to all those hurt and affected by this terrible atrocity.

“Palestine” grandstanding.
Really?! And you are an expert on these marches are you? Have you actually attended one? By and large they are peaceful and objecting of Israeli politics not Jewish people. If anything you have ill informed political views. I have Jewish friends who have attended as they oppose the politics of Israel and also proudly Jewish.

My thoughts are with anyone affected by today's tragedy. It's absolutely disgusting that this happened today of all days and antisemitism should be called out as should the complicity of UKs role in the genocide happening in Gaza.

Never miss an opportunity to steal the grief of others and make it all about your special religious war, er humanitarian cause.
Why were chants of Khayber, Khayber chanted on the streets of the UK for two years now?
Anyway two jews have now been murdered and maybe someone is passing around sweets to celebrate - that is what the UK has become now, there is ample evidence since OCT 8 2023, so don't bother correcting me and other posters. I am very, very sorry for the jewish community and for the mainly good people of the UK. Jews don't feel safe in the UK and if they leave, it is an irretrievable loss and a warning to us all. They have always been the canary in the mine.

I'll try and explain, have you watched the full length video showing the pathetic bystander letting a man bleed to death in front of him? Shouting cursing jeering while people were dying around him. He was told to leave immediately as there was a bomb yet he stayed and cursed and jeered. Putting his own life or health at risk and adding to the burden of the desperate situation. But he was also actively shouting at the police to either kill or not kill the guy, it wasn't possible to hear exactly what he suggested. This was in a situation where people's lives were at risk including the security team's. All this while a couple of steps in front of him an elderly man died a painful death. Oh yes I hate them ALMOST as much as the terrorist.

Edited

Yes I know what you mean, I dont have extactly the same feelings but I know what you mean. I dont think its that shocking to have that narrative.

Personally I think people do stupid things and dont think when they're faced with a crisis or are in shock, perhaps he wasnt the full shilling anyway

I'll wait until more information comes out about what was going on and what people were doing or thinking or saying.

Perhaps now all the Palestine march thickos will pause to reflect on the cost of stoking tensions and whipping up an antisemitic frenzy to show how very left wing they are (they won’t, though).

Perhaps they’ll pause and consider Hamas, who would do the exact same thing to them given the opportunity, on account of being a Westerner and therefore ‘complicit in genocide’. Wouldn’t matter whether you marched or not. They wouldn’t spare you and they wouldn’t care.

Perhaps they’ll pause to consider why after 9/11 they immediately jumped to ‘not all Muslims’, yet afford zero of this to Jews, who ‘while I disagree with it, Netanyahu…’

Maybe they’ll pause to consider the last time a Jew carried out a terror attack in the UK, which is… never.

They won’t. The watermelons, and flag waving, and ‘river to the sea’ bollox will continue. I don’t even think they want a ceasefire, they want to continue feeling righteous and part of some kind of morally superior movement. The antisemitism will continue and each and every incident will be ‘well I don’t agree with it, but Netanyahu..’

Reprehensible. I’m banking on a 24 hour pause on social media posts then it starts up again. And this will never again be mentioned by Corbyn, Sultana, or the rest of their ugly mob

Yeah this makes me so fucking angry.

This is horrific. My thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones. I suspect this is politically motivated. I wish people would realise that not all Jewish people are zionists. Pray for peace. This barbarism doesn’t belong on our streets.

This is a really hurtful comment. Jewish people are allowed a diversity of political views and still don’t deserve to be murdered outside their synagogue.

MaturingCheeseball · 02/10/2025 14:11

What is concerning - no, downright scary - is that after the next general election there are estimates of 30 Islamist (not Muslim - Islamist) MPs. 30 MPs with a focus solely on religion and foreign interest.

Who on earth was that old man in the middle of all of this looking as though he really didnt know what was going on. I saw a women trying to gently move him away and still he wanted to stay. Without stating the obvious. If that was my Dad I would have dragged him away. Not tried to gently persuade him! If he had got caught up in all of this there would be hell to pay. The police did a great job in shooting this manic dead.

We have failed with diversity and tolerance.

Don't feel bad Qatar, Jordan and other Arab countries failed with diversity and tolerance. It's not possible I'm afraid

BluebellShmoobell · 02/10/2025 14:11

Let's not forget after labour calling everyone racist this week they are the only party next to the BNP to be investigated for racism!! And how ironic that Nick Griffin the former leader of the BNP is now in cahoots with the islamists because of their hatred of Jews, oh how the far left and far right like to meet for a tea party!

Zionism is just a belief that the state of Israel should exist. One tiny Jewish state (approx the size of Wales) on the planet. Why shouldn't there be a Jewish state? Especially when Jews are no longer safe in other countries.

I was told years ago to leave this country as Jews aren't welcome here but if there is no Jewish state where should I go? Of course if there were no Jews in the world (which plenty of people want) problem solved.

MyHeartyCoralSnail · 02/10/2025 14:04

But recognising the state of Palestine is rewarding terrorism at this time. The October 7 attacks and subsequent stirring up by long standing pro Palestinian media were designed to provoke Israel - I still haven’t seen anyone offer an alternative as to how Israel should have responded - only, they shouldn’t have done this, that or the other. One can be upset about people dying but also understand that this was orchestrated by a terrorist group whose ideology and goals are now being championed on the streets of our cities, in our media and in our government. This normalisation of anti semitism has led to today’s attacks. If you’ve gone on a march waving a Palestinian flag, if you haven’t challenged anyone there saying from the river to the sea you have played a part in anti semitism

Needs repeating

Not solved. They'd turn to another religion to quash.

What do you think a Zionist is by the way?

It's so horrible.

As an aside - I was really annoyed by the standers-by not clearing the immediate area, when the police demanded them to - even when told he had a bomb! It just makes an awful scenario even more difficult to manage.

It's horrible isn't it. Shouting instructions to armed police, treating the whole thing like it's a spectator event. Wtf is wrong with those bystanders?

Comefromaway · 02/10/2025 14:14

I haven't witnessed any of the marches in London and the description of the hissing is awful. I would absolutely call that kind of thing anti-semitic and it should be clamped down on.

I have witnessed several of the marches in Leeds - I wasn't an attendee, I was on my way to places each time I saw them and they have always appeared to be peaceful and focusing on wanting the genocide to stop.

What the fuck? Are you ok with Jews being murdered on your streets if they're Zionists?

Ilovecrispytofu · 02/10/2025 14:15

Heartbreaking murder of innocent worshippers today. It’s devastating that a day of celebration turned into such tragedy.

I also find it quite depressing to see so many partisan comments in this thread. It is possible to feel empathy for the Jewish victims of this terrible act of violence and the Palestinians suffering in Gaza. I would think that should be the norm for most people. All lives have value whatever the religion, nationality or skin colour.

Yes but surely your QUOTE TODAY is in direct relation to the programme on the officers (who are guilty of mysogyny) that was shown yesterday?

Because it has been presented as a general problem of the police, not a small localised problem which has now been dealt with Careful editing and careful zoning in, getting information from people who had been in stressful environments who were then unwinding in a pub.
its the sort of journalism that puts offices in danger. Allowing stupid people to start rabbiting on about defunding the police who are already over stretched leading to officers being put in dangerous positions like lone working or not having close up back up. Totally irresponsible

I have family in Leeds who feel intimidated by these marches. I think the world will soon see the "genocide" claims for what they are.

Jewish schools, community centres, synagogues and even holocaust museums have been under heavy guard way before Oct 7 and the motives of those attacking them (numerous times) are not political but often religious and racist. Which is not imply that political violence gets a pass but I sense a minimising intent here. And Zionism is the right of the jewish people to a homeland and certainly less of a blight on the world than say, ba'athism.

Just fyi, Yom Kippur is not a day of celebration.

Donate to the CST is a good way if you want.

Comefromaway · 02/10/2025 14:18

Is there a particular reason they feel intimidated? Was there any particular behaviour they have witnessed? My son live in Leeds, hence why I am often there.

Hamiltonfan · 02/10/2025 14:18

Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement. The most solemn day in the Jewish year. Never more so than this year.

Chants of "From the river to the sea" amongst others which is a call for the death of all Israelis.
