I will post the link (hopefully works). Surely there must be something she could be charged with? And her “business” needs closing down! It’s just beyond words!

reminds me of Anatoly Moskvin making 'dolls' out of kids and watching cartoons with them, sitting them at the table to eat with them etc

WLnamechange · 27/08/2025 10:32

It looks like she's turned comments off on her Facebook page, people were leaving negative comments.

mamagogo1 · 27/08/2025 10:38

There were comments in favour of her unusual approach. As long as parents are aware, there is nothing illegal about, it’s just very different from our normal practice in the 21st century.

i do think she has “issues” but she hasn’t broken the law. Would i be happy, no, but there is space for different things

sophiecygnet · 27/08/2025 10:52

This deluded woman is only a step beyond the deluded women who have the lifelike dolls. Take them out in a pram etc.
Worrying.

IkeaJesusChrist · 27/08/2025 10:53

What the fuck?

She's posting pictures of not even full term babies who have passed away on her Facebook page, extreme warning for anyone who has even the slightest inclination to look at her page.

CareerChange24 · 27/08/2025 10:54

I was equally as concerned as how did her baby get brain damage?

She was violently assaulted when pregnant, I'm assuming that you are referring to Amie.

Fron the article, it seems she hasn't done anything illegal. Which is a surprise, but the industry seems to be unregulated.

Should be illegal.

Seems very unethical and bizzare.

No, the baby who was found in the bouncer at Amie’s. How does a baby get brain damage? It states that was the cause of death.

tripleginandtonic · 27/08/2025 11:08

RuthandPen · 27/08/2025 10:08

A coffin has the elementary advantages of a body not being pawed or chewed by pets, or allowing someone to apparently pretend your dead baby's body is alive and watching cartoons in a bouncer, like a doll or something.

Agreed However, it's the living that are affected not the child themselves which is the point I'm making.

It can happen during pregnancy or even birth, my husband was born with brain damage and as a result has Cerebral Palsy.

Brain bleed and hypoxia are just two reasons. Prematurity is a massive risk for brain injury.

It's usually caused by the baby's oxygen supply getting cut off at birth (hypoxic brain injury). Sometimes the child will survive, often with resulting cerebral palsy, but in some cases the damage is so severe that the baby dies a short while later.

I can't believe the industry is so unregulated. Those poor parents. It's absolutely incredible to me that no crime was committed. I could set up as a 'funeral director' tomorrow and just store the bodies in my living room apparently. It's got to be one of the oldest professions too so it's not like regulations haven't kept up with a new industry.

Same. I was surprised to learn of this.
So anyone, from any background could set up John Smith Funeral services and never have any experience whatsoever or the qualification to be a Funeral director/embalmer/mortician whatever it may be and then take your grandma back to their set up, could be a house, a place in a back alley and do whatever they like.

When you see Funeral parlours they have certificates up, so someone correct me if im wrong. Because surely you have to go through some serious checks to open up one. You can't just open up an nhs practice and call it Jane Wilson surgery!!!!

I remember one horrendous documentary of a scumbag who worked in a hospital as a cleaner or something and would frequent the chapel or the mortuary and have sex with the dead bodies, some were children some were elderly. It was vile really. Why was the mortuary not locked at night, why was there no security, it begs belief. Then the victims families had to be called and they were then told over the phone your mother who was resting in our hospital was unfortunately violated by the cleaner. So sorry. Makes you sick that there are people like this in our world.
Even if it isn't a crime committed it's strange, bizzare, unethical and just really quite worrying thay t your little baby who died is not resting in a Funeral home but is in fact, dead and lying in the Funeral directors home with another dead child nearby! And goodness knows how many more around the house. I'm not saying she might have done anything bad to them. But you never know, what is in someone's frame of mind to do something like that and who also lives in the home with her isn't dangerous themselves. Just can't believe it. A really shocking story.

Endofyear · 27/08/2025 11:16

I was so shocked when I saw this article this morning, it's horrific. It seems that anyone can set themselves up as Funeral Directors with no qualifications and there's no regulatory body. Surely this has to change! The police were unable to charge her with any criminal offence although I'm sure they were horrified too. The poor parents of these babies, as if they haven't been going through enough 😭

PInkyStarfish · 27/08/2025 11:18

When you are grieving your mind can go to all kinds of irrational places and if you saw your dead baby in a home being treated as if it’s alive, sleeping or ‘watching’ tv, you might start to wonder what else that woman is doing with your baby such as holding it to her breast as if to feed.

Reminds me a bit of ‘The Landlady’ by Roald Dahl who was a skilled taxidermist and after poisoning her guests, would stuff them and seat them in her home, posed as if still alive so that they wouldn’t leave.

Whilst it may not be illegal, she has overstepped being professional and made the death of the infants a personal form of giving her pleasure in the form of company in her own home.

Does that mean you are ok with what this lady has been doing with these babies?

Honestly not asking that in a goady way, just more curious.

I would say she's many steps ahead of them. There's a world of difference between a doll and a corpse.

Sinky1982 · 27/08/2025 11:29

This story is more complex and layered than it would seem and I would beg anyone reading this to please please don't go onto her face book age and hurl abuse or make accusations as she has suffered a horrific loss herself and clearly got good intentions. From her page you can see in other areas like providing nappies and comfort items she is doing a service to her community.

We don't really have a good relationship with death in this country and my guess is that this lady is trying to cater to parents who want something less sterile and less traditional that sort of treats their lost child as a child that had life and meaning if that makes sense.

The lack of regulation in England and Wales is the real issue here as clear guidance and rules for her to follow could have avoided this and also made sure that there is no underlying mental health issues that she is carrying.

Trigger warning- be very mindful before you go there but…. Florrie’s Army FB page shares explicit photos of very prem, born sleeping babies.

This is a very specific service, they were fundraising for a building. I think it’s a bit more than it seems.

This. Unless you have a strong stomach or are a medical student. Don't look at this (insane) woman's FB page.

This might have started with good intent but that (and the FB page) is not where it is now.

dollyblue01 · 27/08/2025 11:37

I have no words, I don’t think it was malicious, I think she needs help and I do think the profession need a major overhaul, must be so distressing for the parents if those babies ❤️

I've thankfully never suffered a loss of a baby, but I can not get my head round those photos. Obviously the parents have given permission but why, why would you want to share those photos. Id struggle having them of my own baby. They are very very tiny pre term babies that were born sleeping.
I hope she takes that page down or is forced to.

sophiecygnet · 27/08/2025 11:38

Born sleeping!
What!

Oh my goodness. You cannot trust anyone, awful for the family.
