Civil unrest, what's really going on?

1000 replies

Sadworld23 · 03/08/2025 17:02

My DH keeps chirping up with, there's riots here, protests there, immigrants have done assaults in xxx etc. He sees me as a bit of a do-gooder..

All UK places, but when I look at my regular news, there's very little reporting of it.

My DH has some MH issues currently and to confront him with 'what the heck are you reading?' isn't worth it right now.
I make comments such as, ooh that sounds grim and doesn't sound good, and that's very worrying, but I'd really like to know if it's really happening and where he's getting this info.

I don’t think there is a recognised, government ordered blackout. I think the press pretty much run the stories they always would have, with some newspapers leaning into anything immigration-based more to an others. But I do think there is hesitation at source over what details are released by police, as they don’t want to then deal with rioting. The problem is in doing this they appear to be on the side of the perpetrator and mass illegal immigration in general. The press can then only publish what they know or are told.

Yes it may be the police that are hesitant to release information, not the press not reporting it, but what has happened to investigative journalism? In the past they didn’t stop until they had found out everything in minute detail!

And it is interesting the way that different protests are covered by the MSM. Some are described as largely peaceful (if the MSM agrees with that protest cause), whereas others are described akin to riots depending on the protestors involved.

GentleSheep · 04/08/2025 15:07

There's a special police unit set up to monitor online talk that is anti-immigrant. So yes, some things talked about on this thread are a no-no apparently. It's insane.

I really don’t believe that the Daily Mail etc would be lax with their powers of investigation in order to cover for illegal immigrants. The immigration status of the man who

(TW)

orally raped Natalie Shotter to death was queried in Parliament. This was the result:

This is so awful.

It’s all electric bikes here. Groups gather in the city centre waiting for the call to pick up food from wherever. I wonder if their right to work is ever checked.

I was meaning Uber cars as taxis.

It’s one of those cases you never ever forget about and just feel so sorry for the lady that her life and world was ended in the most sordid way. She was a mother of 3 children.

Ah, of course. I hadn’t though of those.

We may find it’ll keep being under reported due to the online safety bill. Illegal migration is to be targeted by censorship from the bill so I expect us to know less as time goes on.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/online-safety-act-explainer/online-safety-act-explainer

I thought that targeting illegal immigration in the bill was to prevent facilitation of social media by the smugglers? Social media is a source of information for migrants on who is able to provide illicit transport (boats, trucks etc) and also how to make payment.

Toptotoe · 04/08/2025 15:30

The government have probably put some kind of restriction on reporting using some Draconian “public interest/ national security’ legislation that we the sheeple will not be told about.
X will have to comply, however, if you change your country location in your user id this may work as X will think you’re in a country that doesn’t have the censorship. Or just get VPN . . .

Here's one possible explanation for the media sitting on their hands.

Police injured, houses burned in second night of riots in Northern Ireland

At least 17 police injured and five arrests made in second night of ‘racially motivated’ disorder in Ballymena.

The crime is disgusting, but the reply is reasonable. To imply there is some kind of cover-up is unreasonable.

The law applies equally to everyone (in this case GDPR and DPA) even rapists and murderers, whether we like it or not.

Why is it reasonable? What is ‘confidential’ about immigration status? We are well aware of the status of other criminals including the ones who have been arrested for raping and strangling a 12 year old. Why do our rights never trump those who aren’t British citizens?

YoureNotGoingOutLikeThat · 04/08/2025 15:41

JamesMacGill · 04/08/2025 14:25

The mainstream media can write in a sensationalist way but they cannot change fact. If they report a child has been kidnapped and raped, this is fact. And such shocking incidences don’t need sensationalising - any normal person would be truly disgusted and not instantly jump to ‘but racism..’

Agree that the mainstream media too can sensationalise. Particularly editorial pieces or guest opinion pieces.

But I think we also need to determine whether an allegation is a fact. Some of the alleged crimes on here have not (yet) been to trial. It is not fact that the crimes have happened until they have been found guilty in a court. [And yes, the court process is too slow]

Sensationalism isn’t required.

What is happening is truly shocking.
Even the sheer numbers without crime is truly shocking.

Thank you for the link Yes I’m sure that will have something to do with it.
They’ll be coming for Al Jazeera next like they did with RT when it started saying stuff the government didn’t like.

How often are men found not guilty of kidnapping and raping a child? This won’t be a ‘he says she says’ it will rely on DNA and CCTV evidence.

But you don't know the immigration status of the two alleged rapists. There have been claims made about their status, but no one actually knows for certain. The police have said:

"Once someone is charged with an offence, we follow national guidance. This guidance does not include sharing ethnicity or immigration status."

If you want justice for that poor girl, it is best not to speculate on SM.

Hopefully it will be a straightforward case with no more trauma heaped onto the victim.

But it is not a fact until it is proven. That was the point I was trying to make.

I think taking our foot off the gas with regards to pressure over proper immigrant crime stats would be a huge mistake. There is already so much obfuscation and ‘lack of data’.

YoureNotGoingOutLikeThat · 04/08/2025 16:00

A question.
There have been suggestions on here that the UK (Border Force?) should conduct some checks on the people (men?) arriving on boats.
How would we do this?

[I understand that the documentation they may have had is ditched - and that it would likely be false anyway].

We can’t.

Their extremely misogynistic theocratic countries will not even prosecute men for sex crimes let alone keep adequate criminal records.

There is simply no way of knowing; we take the risk; women pay the price.

AliasGrace47 · 04/08/2025 16:05

JamesMacGill · 04/08/2025 14:21

I watched it on YouTube.

It’s really unsettling stuff which will leave you with no choice but to conclude there are very nefarious Islamic figures at play in every day British life and policy, the reach of which most people have no idea.

I felt for the people being covertly recorded, and I know doing that is ethically dubious, but the facts are literally unarguable.

Can you elaborate a bit more? What is this agenda of these figures? And who are they? Imams? Or something else?

Yes, the Mail, Telegraph & Sun have all reported on it.

Honestly I think if I wrote the true answer to that it would break talk guidelines, so I won’t. Perhaps you could watch the documentary as it answers all your questions.
