Civil unrest, what's really going on?

1000 replies

Sadworld23 · 03/08/2025 17:02

My DH keeps chirping up with, there's riots here, protests there, immigrants have done assaults in xxx etc. He sees me as a bit of a do-gooder..

All UK places, but when I look at my regular news, there's very little reporting of it.

My DH has some MH issues currently and to confront him with 'what the heck are you reading?' isn't worth it right now.
I make comments such as, ooh that sounds grim and doesn't sound good, and that's very worrying, but I'd really like to know if it's really happening and where he's getting this info.

There is a lot of stuff on X. I hardly go on there asi find it so depressing, however, there is a lot of different footage from all over the country on there. There were demonstrations at various cities in the Uk this weekend. The biggest one seemed to be in Manchester. The footage is there to see but not reported in MSM.

It has been in the main stream media:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c6276rlwdqko.amp

The one in Manchester was organized by Britain First which is neo-fascist anti-Islam group.

A row of police lined up on a street outside of a tall building

Anti-migrant groups and counter demonstrators gather in London, Newcastle and Manchester.

Robinson is 2 things; a petty criminal and thug, and also spot on regarding Islam in many ways (I don’t always agree with the way he expresses it though, let me be clear). His documentary was absolutely jaw dropping - you can’t argue with it as he covertly filmed witnesses who disproven awful lot of the narrative around his slander case. I didn’t want it to be true. But it was.

If you watch that, and still don’t think there is an issue with coverups and nepotism regarding Islamically influenced politics, then you’re lying. There are many shady characters out there pretending to be left wing to sneak their religious beliefs through as law. It’s terrifying.

You should, in the interests of balance, also read the judge's extremely in depth comments on the case Tommy Robinson lost in the courts about the issues raised in the film (which caused him to go back to prison for contempt of court).

Don't automatically believe a man with a conviction for fraud is probably a good starting point. His followers who crowd-funded thousands of pounds for his defence would have done well to remember this. He then pleaded guilty and immediately went on a luxurious holiday on his release.

Are your reading and comprehension skills really that poor? Re read what I've written! You far righters are forcing people out of hotels and inti residential areas! Read it slowly.....houses are being bought all over my town and turned into HMOs! No I haven't got kids but it's me asking you far righters to stop forcing immigrants into these residential areas! We've got one coming into our suburb, it's wiping out the values of expensive homes, it's near schools and a walking route that women like me use - the far righters are creating this danger by forcing them out of hotels and into areas like mine! What on earth is your response meant to mean when I'm asking far righters to keep them in hotels and away from residential areas and schools!

Er, the hotels were in residential areas also. That’s mainly where they were. Small towns and villages. Next to schools.

My adult child was also a police officer. They left recently due to the two tier policing system. They worked in our closest city, is an absolute dump now, and they couldn’t take it anymore. They couldn’t speak out, they were powerless to do anything. The system is flawed.

Relations son in Yorkshire requested a transfer for the same reason.

Perhaps take a breath and go back one step - why are all these immigrants being put into hotels in the first place? Because there are so many of them. Why are there so many? Because they keep coming across the channel in small boats - 25,000 so far this year! Why is this happening? Not because of 'far righters' but because of the lack of action of this government! Direct your anger at them!

However, you make a point that everyone should notice - your area is becoming de-valued and dangerous for the normal residents. NOT because of 'far righters' but because of our %$@£ government's policies or lack thereof!

We cannot keep going like this, something has to give, we can't keep accepting people in, thousands upon thousands. This is making me think of the series Years and Years'!

Exactly!!!

I mean this poor asylum seeker was burdened with the cultural expectations of child marriage-this is obviously why he raped a 15 year old in broad daylight in a busy town centre in Stirlingshire. That excuse was even in his defence. Poor guy got 9 years. Think of all the trauma and stress he’s suffered.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm2z47v57q0o.amp

Obviously there are bad apples in the cart. I fully agree he is an asylum seeker who committed an awful crime.

This general consensus on here that outsiders are a threat is a story as old as the hills. A lot of people have very difficult lives and they want a scapegoat.

According to Migration Observatory which is based at Oxford University and provides impartial information on immigration, violent crime does not go up in areas where there are are asylum seekers but property crime does go up slightly. I attach a screen shot from their report and a link to it.

IDoHaveACrystalBall · 04/08/2025 10:06

I haven't had a chance to read the whole thread

I was also wondering how much people know about what's going on - and has been going on for ages

I'm assuming there isn't more talk on MN because it's pretty pointless discussing it here.

@FlyMeSomewhere they're already in with the general population. That happened ages ago. They don't actually get monitored in hotels though.

So you consider young girls being kidnapped and raped, and some women being murdered, as an acceptable price to pay to accommodate men we have zero need for and who will likely prove a financial burden to us as well as overcrowd an already full small country?

‘Bad apples’ I don’t think that will wash anymore when it comes to violent crimes against dc in particular.

Mydogisatool · 04/08/2025 10:17

I could get on board with a few “bad apples” if it was genuine asylum seekers. Women, children, disabled people fleeing horror. Not being bought over from France (not all on boats either), that well known war torn country, where I am going on holiday next week.

It’s no it though, is it? It’s all young men. I won’t say what I want or people start jumping up and down shouting “ drown the conspiracy theorist!” But many of us can see what is actually happening.

Especially those of us who used to work in media and have seen how ridiculous everything is.

Of course I don’t! I am a decent and reasonable person.

But the evidence is that asylum seekers are no more likely to commit this type of crime than anyone else.

Under international law, we have an obligation to protect refugees. There are many dangerous counties in the world where thr people are living under constant conflict - Afghanistan, Syria, Somalia, Myanmar, Sudan to name but a few.

Sandyshandy · 04/08/2025 10:20

Dizzy dizzy - the people fleeing France on boats are largely male economic migrants.

Do only young men with destroyed documents and passports live in these ‘dangerous countries’ and need to be protected then? Where are the women and children? Who’s protecting them? Because their husbands appear to be deserting them left, right and centre to get to the UK.

Moat it then are from countries with war, conflict or a lot of violence or oppressive regimes. If you scroll a long way down in this article, you will see a bar chart showing that. Although I am attaching a screen shot for ease.

Of course, they can say they came from these countries…. But they destroy their documents so how do we know where they came from? Nobody knows them from Adam!

And again, where are the women and children? Why is it only young men?? Or are these statistics of the BBC only for genuine refugees and not economic migrants disguised as refugees? You’re screenshotting stats that suit your narrative!

And of course the BBC will publish these figures to appeal to the bleeding hearts. They’re completely in denial about the masses that have been coming in by the boat load. As has been stated on this thread (which is the whole point of this thread in fact), is that the mainstream media including the BBC are purposely not reporting on crimes committed by these new comers! Duh!

Phobiaphobic · 04/08/2025 10:58

Abasin · 04/08/2025 00:32

How do you explain this then?

Because it happens with white men too. Because it happens so much with white men that it isn't even news, and there will never be an enquiry about it, but if we stop and think about it for even five minutes we all know it.

Per capita matters.

Not just nasty Brits after all, it seems. Dh’s friend’s wife is Spanish and told me last year that tensions in Spain are also reaching boiling point.

The Irish are pretty pissed off too, and France is not far behind.

Reallyneedsaholiday · 04/08/2025 00:54

What’s happening, is that people are getting their information from social media, easier to manipulate than the mainstream media. And the more they read/ click/ react/ comment on these stories, the more the algorithms show them. It’s feeding into a mindset of “divide and conquer”, keep the riffraff fighting amongst themselves and they’ll be distracted from the real issues that they face.

Newspapers and TV channels have their own algorithm. That's why the Guardian is different to the Telegraph and the BBC is different to GB News.

JamesMacGill · 04/08/2025 11:12

justasking111 · 04/08/2025 09:43

MI5 are watching 40k possible terrorists in this country. Whatever watching means. Our army has 80k active soldiers. It was a Muslim stating this in an interview. There were 14k Hamas when the Israeli thing kicked off.

We need to be aware.

Yet the useful idiots among us cheer on more unvetted men, many of whom are a terrorist risk. It would be funny if it wasn’t so serious. The public needs to wake up to this, and quickly. We are the only population where such a significant % seem ashamed to put the safety of their own children before the wants of men who consider them less than human.

FlyMeSomewhere · 04/08/2025 11:13

Julen7 · 04/08/2025 09:38

Not sure it’s the “far righters”. The government are wanting to get them out of hotels (so they say) because of the cost.

They are more likely to move them out of these hotels if far righters keep kicking off outside though.
