Just breaking on Sky News that Brand has been charged with a number of rapes and sexual offences. Good.
I hope his victims are feeling vindicated and supported.

You literally said there isn't a concerted effort to silence victims as there was with muslim gangs. Your words are there.

You literally questioned me saying - has this happened for white gangs?
When I said yes it has you then deflected saying I was endorsing it.

If you deny it is happening with white gangs then yes you are turning a blind eye. You are literally losing your shit over people saying the same thing has happened with white gangs and there has been a concerted effort to cover up and silence victims and others. You are saying that isn't the case, denying it has happened and challenging people asking if X has happened or Y has happened then deflecting that it is minimising what the victims of muslims gangs have gone through when nothing at all has been said about that.

It happens to all. The power from such gangs has impacted on all victims to silence them.

There isn’t a concerted effort by the police, social services, hospitals, schools, MP’s, councils, the media.

Which town has white grooming gangs had this concerted effort from every professional body, based on the fear of seeming “racist”?

That’s what I said.

Yes there is! Given the fact that you say the muslim gangs are on the news yet the white gangs are not despite them being more of them - now ask yourself why that is?

Oh yeah that would be people covering it up!

People have given examples of when people have covered it up when it is white gangs. You keep saying this is not happening. It is.

Where?
And based on what fear are all these professionals held under?

People have given you examples of such. I have already explained and when I did then you said I was endorsing this by answering you.

If you struggle to read things through your anger then that is not my fault.

The amount of women commenting on news social posts saying he's been set up is truly worrying. It's so hard to bring a rape trial to court in this country and actually charge someone let alone get a conviction. I would love to know what the evidence is and also hope one day Katie Perry breaks her silence on him.

My sister in law belongs to that faction, she's been absolutely convinced since day one that the women accusing him are lying and trying to get fame/money out of it and maintains he's the victim in all this. (We had a colossal falling out when she aired those views).

I initially felt happy when the news broke yesterday, but like so many similar cases there's the knowledge of how hard it is to get a conviction and my fear is that in the event he is found not guilty many people like my sister in law would see that as proof of innocence as opposed to not being able to be found guilty beyond reasonsable doubt... As I believe there's a difference between the two. We'll have to wait and see.

What fear is put on the professionals ignoring these crimes? What threats?

It’s a simple question.

What's the collective noun for a group of rapists?

Just that...rapists.

@RossGellersCat I do wonder what's wrong with some people and why they think the indefensible deserves a defence.

Yes, I agree. Although my SiL also believes Michael Jackson is innocent and those men are lying as well- "because if it was true they wouldn't have waited until after he died to come forward". 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think some people are just blind to compassion and common sense. She's a big fan of both MJ and Brand and I wonder if liking them as performers means she can't allow herself to accept that they might have done utterly abhorrent things.

As ashamed as I am to admit it, I did find Brand's comedy amusing when I was in my twenties, I think a lot of the sexual stuff in his comedy went over my head but I liked his verbosity if I'm honest. I'd drifted away from him when he went into his hippie phase. As soon as the channel 4 Documentary came out I watched it and at no stage did I think those women were making allegations for personal gain. I stand with them and hope that we see the right outcome at trial.

No reason to be ashamed to admit that, his comedy wasn’t the problem, it’s the sexual assaults. Although wouldn’t watch it now, obvs!

He 'joked' about sexual coercion in his routines.

He produced loads, lots of it wasn’t related to sex at all. Lots of it was funny. (Again, as I said, wouldn’t watch any of it now).

I personally don’t recall seeing or laughing at any stand-up routine related to sexual coercion, but that doesn’t mean it’s not out there.

And the radio show where he recounted having just shown his dick to a woman in the building (which I heard about when the documentary came out) – I mean it’s unbelievable that it wasn’t questioned at the time.

The MJ is different in that he was , thoroughly investigated , charged , endured a lengthy trial and was found to be innocent .
Some think that the reason some came forward after MJ’s death was simply because the value of his estate increased after his death and that some used this as an opportunity to cash in .

No, he didn't do whole comedy routines about rape and sexual assault. He did joke about sexual coercion in his routines.

He was a star and pandered to. Production assistants would scout audiences for women for him to have sex with and would contact them on his behalf.

It's a tale as old as time that women/girls are seen as disposable vassals when it comes to powerful men. I'm sure people thought he was hilarious and she was blessed by being exposed to.

By entire towns? That is still being denied as ever happening right now?

Ireland? More than one town.

You didn’t tell me what they were threatened with and scared of.
I can pin point it exactly in this case.

They were terrified of their careers being ruined by the allegation of racism.

That’s what makes these specific cases of grooming so unique. All these towns had this exact same problem and was covered up with the exact same threat.

Ireland? More than one town.

Grooming is happening all over the world.
The perpetrators find ways to silence their victims.

What makes the Muslim grooming gangs stand apart is they used the threat of the allegations of being racist to silence everyone. To silence victims reporting it. To silence professionals reporting it. To silence law enforcement acting on it.

The same method was and is being used in towns all over the country.

It’s a strategy unique to these groups.

I know it’s been said before but it’s worth repeating:
’what’s the collective noun for a group of rapists?’

The answer is always (since the beginning of time) and everywhere (like, every country in the world) Men!

In some parts of the UK in the last 20 years it’s been Muslim men. But, it’s not like violence against women in this country is new, is it? There was plenty of it 200, 100, 50 years ago. Way before a substantial Muslim population settled here. Basically, whenever it was or wherever it was it has always been where there’s a particularly patriarchal society.

Fighting over which group of men is responsible is a total waste of our time and energy and diverts us from the reality underlying all violence against women. Stop the factional arguing, it’s a gift to patriarchy.
