This has to be the worst case of abuse against a child I have read

I am absolutely flabbergasted that this could have gone on and not one person reported it. Not the family members. Not the neighbours. Not the staff at school. This little girl had absolutely no one.

School staff did report it; unfortunately, the father then took her out of school permanently as a result.

Neighbours should have reported their concerns, they did nothing to protect the child. No mention of social services - I guess their testimony will be later in the trial.

I'm becoming sadly desensitised from seeing these stories so frequently.
I really truly wish we had the death penalty for child killers and paedophiles.

CheerfulBunny · 17/10/2024 18:05

Fucking hell. I feel sick. That will haunt me for life. Why didn't the neighbours report it???
What that girl went through...

thomasinacat · 17/10/2024 18:41

Absolutely disgusted with the neighbours, they heard physical abuse and a child screaming and didn't report it. What is wrong with people. What a depressing state of society where people stand by and do nothing to protect an innocent child.

WhatsInTheRug · 17/10/2024 18:48

Not just the neighbours but the school too

Shocked that this was all open and people were aware of the abuse

That poor girl.

Thevelvelletes · 17/10/2024 18:54

I wouldn't put it on the neighbours.
I would put it on the nut who phoned police from Pakistan saying he legally punished his daughter.
He put a plastic hood on her head and beat her to death with a cricket bat
Hopefully his sorry ass gets dragged back to the UK for a whole life tariff.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 17/10/2024 19:00

It is vomit inducing.
I DO BLAME THE NEIGHBOURS!!!
Why on earth would you not phone the police? They should be prosecuted too.
It is EVERYONE'S responsibility to safeguard children.

The pure evil shown by those adults who were meant to love and protect her is terrifying.

WhatsInTheRug · 17/10/2024 19:01

Where was her mum in all this?

jannier · 17/10/2024 19:08

WhatsInTheRug · 17/10/2024 19:01

Where was her mum in all this?

She lived with dad, step mum and uncle why assume the mum had access or is able to do anything?

Willowgirls · 17/10/2024 19:10

And at the end the authorities will say lessons will be learnt.
For this crime I would bring back the death penalty.
That poor child.
Shame on the neighbours.

WhatsInTheRug · 17/10/2024 19:12

@jannier

Where did I assume anything!? I asked a question....a question....

The school did report it. She was known to social services.

Where was her mum in all this?

I believe the father took the mother to court and gained custody shsinst her will... I think I read that somewhere. She didn't want her to live with him. I think she was Eastetn European.

Those neighbours could have saved that little girls life. The details they held, they knew she was being treated appallingly and didn't report it.

Of course the 3 of them are to blame. But the neighbours could have helped that poor girl.

This .

These people were sadistic. I felt sick reading what that poor little girl went through .

It's shocking that the neighbours heard a child being beaten, who was screaming and crying and not one of them contacted social services or the police. This was over months and they all ignored it.

The school noticed bruises and there would have been changes in her behaviour and did nothing when she was removed from school. Members of her family, her aunts were told that she was being beaten black and blue and didn't do anything.

She was abused for years and everyone stood by and did nothing.

WhatsInTheRug · 17/10/2024 19:38

Well maybe the neighbours DID call authorities

My son once called them about a local girl. Nothing changed though.

Family courts handing him custody can't have been that easy. Hence I was wondering about bio mum

It all sounds like a big net poor Sara Sharif fell through. RIP. She deserved so much better

WillowTit · 17/10/2024 19:40

i am sure the school are devastated.
home schooling can be SUCH an awful deadly loophole

Do we actually know they didn't report it?

FumingTRex · 17/10/2024 19:44

The step mum messaged her sister repeatedly about the abuse, they are both more culpable than the neighbours. The school did report it.

None of the neighbours alerted the authorities as Sara seemed 'smartly dressed' and there were no obvious signs of injury, it was said.

StressedQueen · 17/10/2024 19:49

So so heart-breaking, the poor girl 😕This makes me devastated.

Justcallmebebes · 17/10/2024 20:15

RIP Sara. There were so many failings from authorities. The neighbour's failure to report is incomprehendible as well

It's yet another brutal murder of a young child in a long procession. It's heartbreaking
