Why is Biden so reluctant to step down?

I Still can’t understand why he won’t step down. He should never have run again, he wasn’t popular. Why did he? Surely he must know he’s going to make Trump win?

An aide to Obama has seemingly said that Biden has a chip on his shoulder that he uses like a battery pack to keep him going.

He’s always seen himself as fighting and people not believing in him. He is still sour he wasn’t picked as dem nominee for the 2015 election.

It’s what drives him, keeps him going. Fighting to end. It will take a lot for him to go

The type of person who runs for the top job is going to want to have it for the maximum length of time. Trump is often ridiculed for being a one term president and I think that Biden is equally too proud to give up after one term.

I think it’s not unusual for men Biden’s age to be stubborn. For example, it’s not unheard of for people to insist that they are still ok having a driver’s license when other people can see that they should surrender it.

Lots of online speculation that there may be an announcement this weekend. We shall see what happens.

In the US I think that standing for two terms rather than one is a big deal.

I think he may have some cognitive problems which are clouding his judgement. It's quite often a sign of mental deterioration when you don't see the issues.

I think there should be a retirement age for politician, presidents, monarchs alike.

She didn't 'step' down as she'd taken an oath to reign her whole life be it long or short.

Maybe FLOTUS is telling him he's okay, because after all this time the thought of being no longer important does not suit her needs.

You don't get to be a senior politician without a big ego, determination, thick skin & lots of stubbornness. Biden is the same as Thatcher or Indira Gandhi or Macron in those respects.

He doesn't think anybody else can beat Trump. And let's face it, he's probably right.

I think his family are pressuring him to stay on. Hunter is facing up to 25 years on felony charges and has another trial coming up soon for tax evasion
