I am not sure if I believe that Nicola is sadly in the river, or elsewhere.
I do however, feel there is a possibility of criminality and therefore, that it is better to assume a perpetrator and increase the chances of bringing them to book, than to assume an accident and let them get off scot free and the family left without justice.
I have read a few articles lately on waterside lone female attacks/attempted attacks - this is in addition to the 2 missing men last sighted by the river Lune and Bridgewater Canal respectively.
I feel that it could be somebodies M.O to attack on quiet paths beside water, knowing they’re anonymous and that CCTV won’t operate on the paths.
my feeling is, if there is one then, a stranger is the perpetrator.
my concern also would be, the initial reluctance to consider anything other than an accident, could attract other attackers to consider these types of environments and planting seeds of accidents, as their M.O. I think the investigative stance needs to shut down the ideas of anybody who thinks like this.
I hope Nicola’s family get answers whatever they may be, and swift justice -
if a crime has been committed.
