Missing Woman Nicola Bulley 6

ofwarren · 09/02/2023 19:35

These threads are to discuss the disappearance of Nicola Bulley from St Michael's on Wyre.

No speculation without evidence please.

Here are some frequently asked questions, with answers:

1.Where do Nicola and her husband work?

They both work from home which is why he was at home on the day she went missing.

2.Where was the dog harness found / the phone?

Dog harness was found near the river edge not the bench, phone was on on/near the bench.

  1. Has the river been searched?

Yes by the police and volunteers from the Specialist Search team

  1. Had the dog been in the water, and maybe Ms Bulley went in after her?

Willow appeared distressed but ‘bone dry’, according to the woman who found her. There was no sign of her having gone in the river.

  1. Why would she leave her phone on the bench?

Nicola’s phone was found on the bench, still connected to a conference call. So whatever happened, there was no time to end the call or to alert others on the call.

  1. Why was she on mute with no video for her business meeting?

This was not unusual, She used to go on work meeting calls with video off and microphone

  1. Where was her partner while she was out walking their dog?

He was at home at the time.

  1. What about this abandoned house?

Its not abandoned. Its owned by a lovely family who have lived in the village for generations and would do anything they can to help in the search for Nikki.
It has been searched, inside and outside, from top to bottom by the police. This has been clarified with the family themselves and also with the police.
They have never refused entry to the police or told them they need a warrant to search.

  1. Did Nicola have a dog ball with her?

No she didn’t she used to but stopped taking a dog ball on walks.

  1. Was she swept out to sea?

The police Seargent has said it’s now a possibility Nicola’s body could have drifted out to sea.

  1. We’re CCTV cameras working in the area:

The CCTV camera which would have captured everything unfortunately wasn’t working. But the police are actively working to identify 700 motorists travelling in the Garstang Road area on the 27TH of January.

  1. Are there any other paths she could have gone down?

Apart from the river, there are only three exits, two of which are covered by CCTV. On her way in, she was seen by several people. No one saw her leave.

I've just read about the red van seen in the area that the police are now searching for. Significant?

No official appeal for it. So impossible to assess significance (or even accuracy, tbh)

I've been on each thread so far, and one thing keeps occurring to me, that I haven't seen much discussion of.

The police seem utterly convinced that she is in the water. Could there have been a suicide note or similar communication that has led them to this singular conclusion?

(Leaving aside the difficulty of suicide in this stretch of river).

They have said a few times that there are things they know that they can't discuss so I guess it's a possibility. They do seem so certain don't they.

I'm not saying thats impossible, I'm saying theres no end game to that, you can't do it forever and eventually the truth would come out.

Yet people have done it.

If a person really wanted to adopt a new identity they absolutely could.

MySugarBabyLove · 09/02/2023 20:32

The level of obsession on these threads is unhealthy in the extreme. It reminds me of when Madeleine McCann went missing.

The need to speculate is human nature, but come on. Six threads, including an FAQ? This needs to stop.

I’ve just seen on the news how people are going to the bench where they think Nikki might have fallen in and are taking selfies. How grim!

The police also seem to be searching the sea now. Her poor family.

No more grim than people on here making random guesses and speculation as if it were a tv show and not a real life person with family and friends. Goulish.

lifeturnsonadime · 09/02/2023 20:33

So why would she want to do it? then she has 2 young kids too, illogical.

My best friends mum walked out of 4 young kids.

It happens.

melonraspberry · 09/02/2023 20:33

I can’t see that willow would have run off in an area they went to every morning. Even my loony dog with no recall would stay in our walk area I’m certain . And spaniels whizz around all over the place surely an owner wouldn’t worry easily - in that ten minute period where her whereabouts are unknown

I’m still with the abduction theory sadly

puppacup · 09/02/2023 20:33

Obviously the police make mistakes but it's unusual they were so fixated on the water theory from the off & of course the public won't be privy to everything.

spidereggs · 09/02/2023 20:26

SORRY

I have missed something. Yesterday someone shared a post from FB from her friend saying the house had not been searched. I see that's been deleted. Was that false. I've missed a day with child bugs.

It's in the FAQ in the first post.
The supposed 'abandoned house'.
Tilly Ann thought it hadn't been searched, but it had.

Just a theory but if someone appeared and shouted that one of her children had been in an accident and she needed to go with immediately them she would possibly just drop everything and go with them - jump in a car/van within seconds.

That’s a stretch

but you have taken the time to read and comment, also goulish

Plitvice · 09/02/2023 20:34

It is no longer the prominent headline. In a week, we may hear very little. How awful for the family.

ofwarren · 09/02/2023 20:29

Definitely
I'm going to have to write a list on word that I can just copy and paste when the time comes.

It is a bit weird this 'thread policing' this is chat, nothing else has happened, no one here is going to have a eureka moment and solve the case.
Discussion in natural, I was simply saying I have been swept over a weir in the summer, in low water and low current, I very nearly drowed and I was taken to hospital.

The police evidently think that it is possible, I'm not going to revere someone just because he is independent from the police.

JocelynBurnell · 09/02/2023 20:35

The police have said there is no evidence of criminal involvement. Not quite the same thing.

"The inquiry team remains fully open-minded to any information that may indicate where Nicola is or what happened to her.

Just watched a video on "this morning" fb page where a journalist explains how nicola could have gone through the gate behind the bench with willow unable to follow, and when willow was found she was running between the bench and gate. I didn't realise how close it was to the bench. I don't know how to link but it has made me believe nicola went through the gate and not in the river. I don't want to speculate on how/why she went through that gate but I think that's what happened, given willow's behaviour.

I’m not so sure that gate or fence would stop Willow. Unless she is incredibly obedient and was told to stay.

I was making dinner just now thinking about how her partner is having to carry on as normal, looking after his girls, while not knowing what he can tell them. And they must be hearing all sorts at school. It’s just so awful.

I think about that aswell - there are so many normal day to day things to do every day looking after kids, I cant imagine how he is getting through each day. It sounds like he has alot of support from family and friends but it’s unthinkable how he must feel every day. I keep hoping theres some news and it just feels like there’s not a tiny bit of evidence of any scenario.

The FAQ is because people kept asking the same questions over and over.

The opposite, when we stop and the media attention goes, then it’s likely the police will scale back. And if this woman, mother isn’t found, she never will be , unless by accident.

so no. We don’t need to stop. We need to keep going. If you want it all to stop then hide the threads and move on. No one is asking you to read them, no one is asking for your opinion.

puppacup · 09/02/2023 20:35

I do think some people favour the killer abduction theory because it's more exciting, something to solve, etc.

Visiting the area for selfies is entirely different to posting concerned messages here. The fact you can't see the distinction is odd.

A lot of posters are local and understandably very worried for Nicola. The majority just want to talk the events through to process the awful situation. Primarily the thoughts are with her family and friends, there's just the odd insensitive poster.

the family said 'we just want her to come home' 'there's no evidence to suggest she went in the river, its a theory so keep an open mind'

This suggests the police have no evidence of her being suicidal. If everyone around her believed she'd probably killed herself they wouldn't have said what they have to the media.

The whole debates on these threads appears to have been dominated by that and the self disappearing act hypothesis, despite those ones not being at all logical.

She must have either left the area forced by a third party or fallen in the river at some other location and gone to an area not yet searched, can't see any other possibilities at this point.

Crumpetdisappointment · 09/02/2023 20:37

i guess the family absolutely do not want to believe she fell in the river and drowned.

crocusfocus · 09/02/2023 20:37

@Activelyannoyed. I agree , maybe if enough people keep talking about her and keep it a current topic they will keep looking. maybe.

She feels like one of us - a mother doing her normal routine :-(

Poor Nicola , poor girls

MissingMoominMamma · 09/02/2023 20:38

Apparently, her phone was found on the ground by a passing man and it was him who put it on the bench.
